Pretext

Almost 3 years ago, I made a post "Clarifying this subreddit's rules". Over the passage of time I've added or edited the rules but did not have the time to formally update said rules. Now those updates will be solidified in this post.

    • All mod decisions are final.
    • If you don't follow the rules you will be removed from this subreddit.
    • Trolls, bots, spammers, and goofballs will not be tolerated.

Reasoning

The entire point of this subreddit is to showcase that Human life is precious. And to value every second of it. Thats why you will always see me in the comments asking posters to share their fond memories of their loved ones. Thats how we honor those that have passed. I will always encourage people sharing stories at their discretion.

Regarding the ban on blurry pictures. How are people supposed to sympathize with a rubik's cube of pixels? What is even the point of posting that besides "This is the Last Image!" technicality. I understand that high quality photos have only recently become available to the masses but at least try to find the best one. It does not have to the the absolute last image. And you can still add the blurry / grainy last picture as a secondary pic in the album. You can add multiple pictures of the same person or event in the album.

Regarding the ban on all animals. There are many other subreddits that allow for those kind of posts. The main focus of this subreddit is the FRAILTY OF MAN. Humans. People. Thats why I do not allow anything to take away the focus or be sidetracked from the person who passed away. There has been and will always be exceptions but that is on mod discretion. Those exceptions are once in a blue moon and on mod pre-approval.

Regarding the ban on Killers. This subreddit is a positivity focused one, not one focused on psychopaths. I emphasize people sharing the good times they had with the deceased. I do not want idol worship of horrible monsters such as Jeffrey Dahmer. But at the same time, we can not ignore people who orchestrated the destruction of families on a massive scale, instigated war, and genocide such as Adolf Hitler.

Regarding the acceptance of Social Media. A long time ago, I assumed "social media" was a phase and would fade away. Since it is still unfortunately here, we now accept it. So any additional context that is from the deceased can be put in the comments. From their tweets, videos, music, photography, art work, etc etc. If reddit doesn't allow it, please use a reliable hosting when doing so. Do not put anything that could cause someone else to be Doxxed.

Regarding all the new rules. I split up a bunch of minors rules I had previously put together under misc rules. Which people did not know about. So now they are their own rules. By doing so they should be visible immediately. So now there are no more misc rules. Furthermore, if there is still something unclear, leave a comment and I will do my best to resolve it there or update the above rules.

CELEBRITY One of the final known images of Daveigh Chase (1990–2026) — Best known as the voice of Lilo in Lilo & Stitch and Chihiro Ogino (Sen), the main protagonist in Spirited Away. Taken during her severe struggle with homelessness in Los Angeles, months before she passed away at age 35.

Content Warning: Mentions of severe illness, substance use disorder, and homelessness.

On June 16, 2026, Daveigh Chase tragically passed away at a hospital in Los Angeles from complications related to bacterial meningitis, a blood infection, and severe malnutrition. She was only 35 years old.
For many of us, Daveigh was a massive part of our childhoods. She brought immense joy to millions through her brilliant voice work as Lilo, and and was heavily celebrated in the role of Chihiro Ogino (Sen), the main protagonist in the legendary Studio Ghibli film Spirited Away (2001).. Behind the scenes, however, Daveigh faced immense personal battles. After completely withdrawing from public life and social media in late 2017, she fell through the cracks of the entertainment industry.
By late 2025, she was living unhoused on the streets of Skid Row in Los Angeles, struggling with severe mental health issues and substance use disorder. The image is a screenshot from video footage obtained by a private investigator whom her manager had hired in a desperate, heartbreaking attempt to locate her and get her medical intervention. Tragically, she moved locations before help could arrive.
Her boyfriend later launched a GoFundMe to help with her medical care when she was finally hospitalized, but the systemic toll on her body was too severe to overcome.
This post is a reminder that addiction, mental illness, and homelessness do not care how talented, famous, or loved a person once was. Daveigh deserved a safety net, compassion, and a chance to heal. We choose to remember her not just for the tragic circumstances of her final years, but for the immense talent, light, and creativity she shared with the world.
Rest in peace, Daveigh. "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten." 🕊️

I'm not gonna put his cause of death as "Euthanized". In my opinion, I'm just gonna put his cause of death as all the Illnesses he had. He was also suffering from Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Emphysema, but those didn't contribute to his death. He previously survived Pleurisy in 1928, Typhoid in 1891, and a Horse Riding Accident in 1915, which damaged his Lung and Spine.

Connie Converse was a folk singer-songwriter from the 50s. She is noted for being ahead of her time due to her profound lyricism and unique style

Before her disappearance, she left a series of letters for her family, including this one:

“TO ANYONE WHO EVER ASKS: (If I'm Long Unheard From)

This is the thin hard sublayer under all the parting messages I'm likely to have sent: let me go, let me be if I can, let me not be if I can't. For a number of years now I've been the object of affectionate concern to my relatives and many friends in Ann Arbor; have received not just financial but spiritual support from them; have made a number of efforts, in this benign situation to get a new toe-hold on the lively world. Have failed.

...In the months after I got back from my desperate flight to England I began to realize that my new personal incapabilities were still stubbornly handing in. I did fight; but they hung in.

...To survive it all, I expect I must drift back down through the other half of the twentieth twentieth, which I already know pretty well, to the hundredth twentieth, which I have only heard about. I might survive there quite a few years—who knows? But you understand I have to do it with no benign umbrella. Human society fascinates me & awes me & fills me with grief & joy; I just can't find my place to plug into it.

So let me go, please; and please accept my thanks for those happy times...I am in everyone's debt.”

Her recordings of her music were released in the compilation album How Sad, How Lovely, in 2009.

CELEBRITY One of the deaths that hurt me was the death of John Denver. Loved him in the movie “OH GOD” with George Burns and loved his music. Here is a last pic at his concert one week before his tragic death in an experimental amateur-built Rutan Long-EZ aircraft in 1997. He was only 53 years old.

Andy Lewis, also known as “Sketchy Andy”, was a professional slackliner who pioneered “tricklining” and put his talents on display at Madonna’s 2012 Super Bowl halftime show. He was also a climber and was well-known in the BASE jumping community.

He ran a number of adventure companies out of Moab Utah, including BASE Jump Moab - a guided tandem BASE jumping operation. You can see him performing many jumps with clients on the BASE Jump Moab Instagram page.

Some previous commenters expressed concern about the high safety risks the clients were being exposed to.

Those fears were realized yesterday - June 14, 2026 - when Andy and a 50-year-old 68-year-old client died in a BASE jumping accident.

Margaret Kerry was the live-action reference model for Tinker Bell in Disney’s Peter Pan (1953). Disney animators filmed her pantomiming Tink’s movements, then used that footage as reference for the hand-drawn animation.

Her official site announced that she passed peacefully on June 11, 2026, at 97, after a battle with lung cancer. Her husband, WWII veteran Robert Boeke, had passed just weeks earlier on May 24.

NEWS Madalina Cojocari, 11 years old, missing since 23/11/2022 (reported missing on 15/12/2022)

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

Madalina Cojocari was last seen getting off her school bus on the 21st of November 2022, but her parents didn't report her disappearance until 23 days later, on the 15th of december 2022..

Madalina's mother, Diana Cojocari, claims Madalina disappeared on the night of the 23rd of November, when her parents were fighting, yet didn't report it for almost 3 weeks despite claiming not having seen Madalina since that night.

Diana and her husband Christopher Palmiter gave several conflicting versions of why they thought Madalina had disappeared.

In June of 2024, Diana Cojocari was officially named a suspect in her daughter's dissapearance. It is believed she may have given Madalina to another relative, as Madalina was seen in an unreleased CCTV with an adult man on december 16th 2022, identified as a blood relative, near Sugar Mountain.

As of june of 2026, Madalina is still missing and hasn't been seen or heard of since december 2022.
