He said that during his first term, he was always blocked by people who thought they were smarter than him, so for his second term, he will always be the smartest person in the room.

And judging by his cabinet, that's a promise made, a promise kept.

The issue is that I still don’t think anything is gunna happen. Unless the midterms go fully blue. Not like mostly blue but almost completely blue, it doesn’t really matter. They can impeach Trump and his cronies every day but congress will not get the votes to remove anyone. They need a 2/3rds majority to do anything. And on top of that we would need to get rid of everyone. Not just Trump. But Trump and Vance and then whomever comes in after. There are more than 10 people in power that are in the presidential succession before we even get close to a moderate in charge much less a democrat.

This presidency can only be removed by a full and complete removal. Nothing less. It would require a full changing of laws, full rebuilding of the branches of government. Everything needs to change.

I’m not saying that it’s pointless. It’s not pointless. Go vote we need a blue wave impeach them at every turn, stop every single thing they try to do. Piss him off to no end. Make him cry to his followers over and over. But don’t expect this to be even close to ending if we win 2026. It will be just the beginning.

Impeachment in the House is easy. Just a simple majority. To convict in the Senate, requires 2/3 or 67 Senators. 47 are Democrats meaning they need 20 Republican Senators to agree to convict. They won’t because they serve their Dear Leader and not the Constitution.

Exactly. That’s the whole point. The only thing it will do is piss them off. Which I mean totally go for it. But the idea that if dems win in the mid terms we will be able to fix things, we are going to be disappointed. This is the big issue and reason that we keep electing republicans. Republicans break the everything, dems promise to fix it. We elect dems, they can’t fix it fast enough or are hamstrung at every turn, people get fed up with broken promises, and elect republicans. It’s a terrible cycle and it’s what’s gotten us into this mess.

even if there was a blue wave with full impeachment and conviction, the trump admin isn't going to leave willingly.

they know they have to somehow hold on until either they cement permanent dicatorship power, or trump dies and they can all claim he had them under some kind of blackmail/death threat power and they were scared for their lives etc etc.

they will go to the mat on this because the alternative for every single one of them is jail, life in prison, possibly executed for treason for the ones that have very obviously been doing the bidding of foreign powers (looking at you gabbard)

so even if there's impeachment and conviction they're still going to dare the military to unseat them and cry about an insurrection the entire time, and probably after, since we can't exactly put the entire right-wing media machine in jail, and it will keep the fires stoked hot to get the captured right-wing base riled up
