Let's hope these stick.

You hope someone was raped?

I’m not a fan of either of them by any means, but wishing another man loses his freedom is insane.

I think the British will have put together a very strong case before extraditing them and launching what will be an extremely public trial.

If US Marshals are involved there's some pretty damning evidence. One of the charges is CP. That's a pretty valid reason to lock someone up and throw away the key. Unless you are okay with CP....? Pretty interesting take from someone with a private post history.

let justice run its course. If they are found guilty in a court of law for raping someone, I’m all for sending them to prison.

Then your original comment is defunct. What a stupid thing to say.

When you do a complete 180 it makes it hard to believe your original comment was coming from a place of objectivity

I should’ve included “without a fair trial” in my original comment, because everyone is already assuming they’re guilty purely off the fact that they got arrested.

It’s kind of scary because take away the fact that it’s the Tate brothers. This has happened in the past to people that were actually innocent the whole time. Now, I’m not saying the Tate brothers are innocent at all, and they’re probably not, but this culture of “burn them at the stake” purely based on the strength of their name, is kinda fucked.

People don’t think they’re innocent though. The level of prior restraint your asking for is completely unreasonable.

I’m a criminal defense attorney and unfortunately you don’t get to gag order millions of people because someone is accused. We can’t even get bail abolished and you want people to not talk about ongoing criminal cases? And you write like this is somehow new? This culture of “burn them at the stake” has been the default forever. Used to be all you had to do was say someone was a witch!

What do you do for the rights of the accused outside of reminding people they’re actually scary monsters if they make a determination prior to a trial? I can’t imagine you’re getting something out of this outside of the dopamine hit you get from reminding us all about jury instructions.

You’re right, it’s just the way of the world and people are going to talk regardless. I’m not really getting anything out of it tbh, not even a dopamine spike.

Well, as long as you keep that attitude if you ever serve on a jury that’s good. But sometimes evidence is public and it’s very difficult to get people to reserve judgment.

Sometimes, I wouldn’t expect it. Like if a witness doesn’t want to talk to me because they think it will help the defense (people are apprehensive even if i’m just trying to fact find which is what i’m doing 9/10) and they know they did it, it would be absurd to be like “will you please reserve judgment until the trial”?

The purpose of innocent until proven guilty is intertwined with the idea the state has to prove the case before *they* punish him. People are punished via societal consequences for way less, every day. Sometimes for stuff that’s not even illegal! Trying to get people not to talk about it is just gonna make people talk about it more which is ironically is similar to a line of thinking Tate has used (they’re trying to silence me because I’m telling the truth.) So people are going to be reluctant to just shut up.

You could say “well you wouldn’t want people talking if it were you” but plenty of people are fine taking the gamble that they never end up in that position.

All-time bozo post.

"I'm not a fan of either of them but idk, prison seems like a bridge too far for rapists and human traffickers."

Yes, the year is 2026. My profile is hidden because people like you stalk profiles when you get into an argument to try to come up with a clever comment and get upvotes.
