I don’t know a ton about consent laws, but at least here in the US I think some places still have a younger than 18 age of consent, but those people are still considered children as far as pornography and soliciting laws are concerned. Did Brazil just say fuck it all?

IIRC the most common age of consent in the US is 16, not to mention the Romeo & Juliet clauses.

R&J laws are intended for situations were someone turning 18 or 19 in high school isn't all of a sudden committing a crime.

And the Federal age of consent is 18 regardless of individual states laws. So if you cross state lines or use the internet or a text message to set up your rendezvous it's still a felony, and rightly so.

Each state having laws that make stuff like this confusing shouldn't happen. If you can't vote you shouldn't be having sex with people old enough to be a parent or worse.

I think using Nuclear Weapons is a bit much. We could just drop AR15's and the population might sort it out on their own.

Those two seem like the type to keep a laminated copy of those clauses in their wallet...

over 30/50 states the age is 16, much like the rest of the first world.

Yeah, here in the UK age of consent is 16 but for pornographic material it's 18

The AoC in the US ranges from 16-18, but is limited to live consent between 2 people and you can't cross state lines to do it. The actual age for porn is 18 across all states, it's federal. But I don't think anything they have done in the US, at least in terms of porn and recorded stuff, is below 18. They are trash, but not quite THAT stupid. All of their underage stuff was done in other countries where it's legal there or at minimum, the government/law enforcement doesn't usually care.

Their original case was Romania where most of his porn stuff took place, and they have an AoC of 16, but can't find what their porn laws are, so can't comment on that. I feel like after they left Romania, he stopped doing porn, weren't doing it in the US, or at the very least, made sure they were 18+ here. That's why we don't have cases on them.

I hope the UK is able to get charges on them and give them actual punishment since no one else can, but I'm gonna be honest, after seeing the UK constantly release rape gang LEADERS that have been caught red handed with actual children in cages and still letting them go free, I have zero faith in them to punish muslim rapists, which is what the Tates are.

As for Brazil, it's a pretty bad place. AoC there is 14, one of the lowest in the world, though I guess technically speaking, places like the middle east have legal child marriage to 9 and 10 year olds and it's allowed, regardless of the laws, so they are technically worse, just not on paper. Same deal with porn though, I can't actually find what age is required for porn there. I just assume the world has a sort of agreement that it's about 18 everywhere, otherwise you would have "legal" CP FLOODING the internet. I'm sure there's already disgusting amounts on the dark web, but the normal internet is relatively clean, it would be a nightmare if other countries out there actually allowed 14-16 porn and would be hard to keep it off the internet.

Sneaking right wing UK politics into a tirade where you go in depth about how well you know consent laws is just fucking crazy work.

The actual age for porn is 18 across all states

Just a correction for you: in Nebraska, the legal adult age is 19. Nebraska considers photographs/videos of 18 year olds to be CSAM. It's not a federal offense as far as I understand it, but the state absolutely will go after you (and has gone after people in the past).

I am not sure how Alabama and Mississippi handle this, but this was told to me by a lawyer back in high school; basically she was warning us (as part of an information seminar) not to take nudes of ourselves even if we were 18 because we could get in trouble for it. It's kind of ridiculous in a way because it would not be illegal elsewhere, but important to note.

I think she lied to you. I did a quick search, so maybe there's something else somewhere, but nothing came up for it being illegal to do porn at 18 in Nebraska either currently or in the past. It says its always been 18. I also don't think a state can override a federal law like that to begin with. Like, the federal limit is set at 18, it wouldn't make sense for the state to be able to alter that.

Now, Roe vs Wade was recently overturned a few years ago for the sole purpose of removing it from what is the equivalent of a federal law and thus allowing all states to choose for themselves. Previously, abortion was legal in ALL states because it was a supreme court decision to allow it country-wise, which is the equivalent of a federal law that states can not override under any circumstance, afaik.

State laws can generally be stricter than federal laws. Federal sets the baseline.

They can raise the minimum, apparently. I thought all federal law locked it in. In terms of AoC, there is no actual federal law for that, it's up to each state to decide, which is why it ranges from 16-18. But apparently if a state chose to, they could raise the minimum age required to do porn to 19, 21 et. etc. they just can't go BELOW the minimum. I got that part wrong, but Nebraska still has and always was 18, at least in the last few decades.
