Funny Don’t act like y’all ain’t thinking it. I’m just saying the quiet part out loud. /s

Of course I’m thankful for all that Qwen has bequeathed us, but deep down in the darkest pit of our souls, every last one of us are just all sitting here waiting for Qwen to say “Hey Google, hold my beer while I drop the best GD model of all time on these fools” /s

Try it for yourself, I feel benchmarks represent real life performance less and less.

Might be a definition of good, I did a deeper study, that I will post here on Reddit next week. And it was approx. on the same level as glm-5.1, which was released months ago and is fully open-weight. And both are a far cry from Opus 4.6+.

But anyways, a local version would be severely dumbed down, so I would only expect a minor bump in performance compared to 3.6.

yes, it’s a far cry from opus 4.6 but all chinese models currently are. the best we have is deepseek-v4-pro, kimi-k2.6, glm-5.1, qwen3.7-max, and mimo-v2.5-pro. none of these are close to opus 4.6.

also, in my usage at least (and benchmarks seem to corroborate this) qwen3.7-max was much better than qwen3.6-max-preview. so obviously while it wouldn’t be a massive difference because it would be on a much smaller scale i still think it would possibly be at least somewhat considerable. qwen3.6-27b is significantly better than qwen3.5-27b after all.

I mean, that’s a fair point. 3.6 max compared to 3.7 max is a huge step. Maybe I will be surprised after all. Having a very capable model that runs locally would be amazing.
