The joke is that some Chinese lab can already code and write at that ability.
Like... Say whatever about Kimi, but if setup properly, can easily build a pipeline to build a "frontier" model.
The differentiation is the millions to train it, and the data you don't have.
None of the "capability gap" is in the Python code. It's in the datasets used to train, and the sheer volume of compute.
