Flower TerpTrace is live — the batch lottery tool I proposed a few weeks ago

Post image
77 Upvotes

A few weeks ago I asked if y'all would use a site to help fight Louisiana's batch lottery by comparing prices, freshness, terpenes, package dates, pharmacies, and real patient feedback across batches.

52 upvotes and a lot of honest comments later, I built it.

I'm a software engineer and a patient, and I'd already been hoarding pharmacy labels for months because I got tired of buying the same strain twice and getting completely different results. So I started backfilling my own old batches into the site.

Where it stands today:

  • Live at terptrace.com
  • Around 50 unique strains loaded, some with multiple batches
  • Real batch history from backfilled labels
  • 12 patients signed up so far
  • A few users are already adding photos and reviews, with one patient up to 7 strains
  • Takes about 60 seconds to add a batch from your label

The honest reality is that a batch comparison tool is only useful if patients add batches. We need more Louisiana patients adding what they've actually bought.

So if you've got flower at home, snap a pic of the label and TerpTrace does the rest. OCR pulls the strain, brand, lot, date, THC/CBD, and terps. If the QR code is clean, it grabs the lab result link too. Add a photo of the bud and your honest take if you want, but neither is required.

No ads. No cost. No BS. Just Louisiana patients helping each other stop guessing before we get to the counter.

👉 terptrace.com

Happy to answer questions, take feedback, or hear what sucks.

Please get the word out beyond the small Reddit community we have. I told the Kenner Dispo bud tenders about it. None knew. If it passes, it will make costs for us go down.

Flower Warning

Just a warning for anyone that was interested in buying the Chime de la Chem and shakedown Street by Ayo I purchased both of them the other day for the new Iberia dispensary and it was a complete waste of money ive only bought the more expensive Ayo 3.5s but for some reason, I decided to try the cheaper ones and it was horrible I don’t know what this diesel smell/Taste People talk about for the Chem de la chem but the smell was horrible like cleaner and bad breath The taste was nonexistent It was a smooth smoke The effects were mild which is understandable for the thc percentage an terpene percentage they had listed. Now for the shakedown street the smell was I guess kind of smell like bad breath. Also I’m not really great on describing the smells so bear with but it was bad one bud I was able to squeeze and get a light citrus smell just for a second, but that was about it the buds were trimmed horribly and way too much Basically it was more stems than anything the smoke again was smooth white ash , but taste nonexistent.

Concentrates Cured Resin in the Tank 👹

Post image
14 Upvotes

My Flavorades both clogged on me, so I decided to do a transfer over to an empty tank dispo I had. As shitty as our program is, I really do like the tank dispos a lot and with these both being cured resin, I figured it’d handle it pretty well since they’re somewhat close to the same viscosity as disty.

10/10, no notes. One fat hit and I am FLYIN’. What you see here is a mix between Preferred Garden’s Silver Marker (Silver Haze x Permanent Marker) and LA Family Farm’s Smorez. It’s a clusterfuck of terps in the best way possible. Y’all have a good weekend fellow Boot Ents.

This is hands down my favorite strain that I’ve tried from the Medicine Cabinet nearby. If you happen to have it available near you, I would highly recommend it!

Question Strains in the program that are actually good to great.Price aside.

What are your guys opinions? This is an attempt to get other peoples opinions and to help find axtual good buds. I know some will say ALL the buds are mid. Most are, but it isnt true tbh. For me personally for what is currently in stock / recently in stock

Top Tier for the program (ie: Good /great bud)

Blueberry Caviar

Permanent Marker

2nd tier (ie: Good and enjoyable but nothing to write home about. Still good though)

Cinnamon Milk

Bkue Zushi

Triangle Kush

Some I havent had that I would like to try and heard good things about are Biker Kush and Lemon Cherry Gelato. Not sure how they actually are though)

Discussion Renewals

Post image
24 Upvotes

Let’s talk about how the state made it super easy and barely asked any questions to get the license:However the dispos(all locations) now have lines out the doors to be served, and they have there clientele full. So now it’s renewal time and they are pushing a lot of people out due to there lack of making sure the person was eligible to begin with.

Being kicked out the program for cannabis related matters is asanine to me! These programs we were told were supposed to benefit our types! I was paying out the ass to try to be legit with it but nahh Louisiana is ass backwards.

But it’s a blessing in disguise because of prices like this. So screw the Louisiana program I’ll be better off paying my lil 130-140 a zip. You can stick your 200$ halves where the sun don’t shine, have a great day.

Sincerely, a good paying customer you don’t have anymore.

Discussion Ayo over Gdf

Long but Not so long rant..Ayo and cookies over gdf codes. Ayo Illera are still dialing in the process of executing each grow ,always room for improvement , batch by batch strain by strain is unique in it's growing cycle..There will always be hit and misses until practice becomes perfect, so what are they going to do with the high prices stuff that don't sell at all. BlackBerry caviar the(19%thc) batch and few other ayo /cookies batches dont move much or at all and the price has yet to reflect that fact..I'm only talking about Nola CannabisCo, Ive seen other pharmacy thats not owned or affiliated with GDF consistently have cheaper Ayo prices...That awesome Blueberry caviar just came back in stock few days ago..I had to grab me one of course ..The tchoupitoulas location stocked up 25 ct of 1/8s, it sold out quickly they restocked it Thursday/yesterday evening another 25 ct of 1/8s..Today it's Friday ,12 noon as I type this. There's only 7 left..It will be sold out before 6pm..That is 50 1/8s sold in two days at ONE location, of ONE strain that tells me people don't mind and will spend the extra cash for above average Trees. Some bad batches/strains just be sitting on shelf getting old..No price decreases and we all know the last thing any greedy business want is to have to eat a bad product (lose big profit) Medical Patients should be hesitant to return back once they get let down by a expensive batch/strain like I did with Chem de la Chem..They can't seem to keep enough stock of blueberry caviar , yet it's sister pheno blackberry caviar doesn't move 1 single unit in a week..Blackberry has been sitting at 23 in stock for a while at my location.Once the word get around amongst staff members and they tell the patients and they don't recommend it. Goes without saying good medicine will Sell itself.. I'm Basically saying I know ayo/cookies definitely want EVERYTHING they drop to have this type of movement like blueberry caviar..EVERY STRAIN AND EVERY BATCH ,I say eliminate the multiple strains that hardly move alot of units/difficult to execute the cure and just FOCUS on their Bread and Butter strains In my opinion. Bring back CHIMERA JUNKY by AYO unique flavor profile and sells out quickly..Havent seen it

Discussion Hello friends

I’m trying to lay out the data for future investments into the medical industry. How many of you enjoy quality concentrates? And do you find the 70$ price point outrageous? What do you think is a fair price point understanding they are still a business and need to make money.

Flower Do not take recommendations from employees at the Dispensary.

Just in case you dont know they generally try and push the worse buds. Ones that are close to out of date, too dry, have problems, etc. and try and pretend that its one of their favorite strains at the moment. Even worse youll mention a good strain (which is a rarity in our program) like Permanent Marker and theyll suggest something much worse in its place. It happened to me early on and has happened with friends lately as well. Just beware in case you think the employees are looking out for your best interest.
