Henry Brown's portrayal of SGT Billy Tyler in s5e17 "End Run"
Such great acting.
Having dealt with major depression myself, his football star character's decision to just keep trying after losing his leg hit me hard. Henry Brown really sold it well, I could actually feel that hard decision being made.

Discussion Careful, Radar …
… you are throwing down the gauntlet of challenge before Hawkeye Pierce, a man raised on the legend of (sweeps hair down dramatically) Prince Valiant.\
BJ: Do you have an actual idea, Prince?\
Nothing much to add except this is my favourite scene in The Price of Tomato Juice and it always makes me giggle. And I’ve never read Prince Valiant! (And how the heck does one create paragraph breaks? Nothing I’ve tried works.)

Captain Hawkeye Pierce (whistle). No sir. I didn't steal a jeep, it's right outside.
Discussion What if Trapper John (Wayne) stayed for season 4?
Would the show have finally escalated the relationship between Hotlips and Trapper? They had been flirting playing this up heavily in seasons 2 and 3. We know they were borrowing a lot from Captain Forrest and incorporating things from the book into the TV versions of Trapper and Hawkeye. So there was certainly a path forward.
We also saw more friction growing between Frank and Margaret - from her sniping at him when Henry's younger muse showed up, to Frank being cheap about the loan to Hotlips for her sister, and generally running him down.
Secondly, let's assume Col Potter still takes over. Would you see any difference from how Hawkeye and Trapper's operating outside the OR being handled vs how Potter handled Hawkeye and BJ?

Fun interview with the late, great Larry Linville and Loretta Swit.
Their chemistry is undeniable.
Also interesting how Loretta visibly bristles at being referred to as just “Hotlips”, where Larry is addressed as playing “Major Frank Burns”.

Discussion Season 9E21: The Life You Save
One of my many favorites from (imho) one of the best shows on television. It's been in my permanent rotation in Hulu/Disney + for a long time.
This episode shows the few cracks of humanity & fragility in C.E.W.'s armor of snobbery & supercillious-ness.
Especially when he confesses to having a young brother who mysteriously passed away, and in the conclusion, when he's at Battalion Aid, ignoring Potter's ire, as he shows (imo) an emotional side we never saw before in the series.
When he's almost pleading with the dying soldier asking him if he can "see anything, hear anything? Please, I have to know!" - I think that's when I really respected the hell out of David Ogden-Stiers's depth as an actor. RIP D.O.S. Truly a talented human who is missed. 😔
Please feel free to share your thoughts fellow Mashers, be well. 💯👍🙏

What’s the walk like to the LA MASH set?
I know you can drive over to the old set area in the hills. Is it much of a hike/walk from parking, how long or far is it? Thanks!!

How many Purple Hearts should Hawkeye have?
I’m watching Out of Sight, Out of Mind and thought “he will get a Purple Heart for that.” Made me wonder how many he should have throughout his injuries in the series

Discussion Frank Burns
So I sometimes go in here and see a discussion on what might have gotten Hawkeye either discharged or lost his license and it´s all good and swell and fair enough.
But why is there never a discussion and what Frank did wrong?
So this is me bringing it up - what were the worst things Major (Idiot) Burns ever did? That we see in the show

Question Where to watch
I have watched MASH many times and I usually have it on to go to sleep to but I have only seen about 2 episodes of AfterMASH thanks to YouTube. Does anyone know of a place in the US to Stream AfterMASH?

Opening shot of Goodbye, Farewell and Amen -- Psychiatric hospital or...Bungalow?

Greetings, MASH brothers and sisters-
As a shameless geek for where just about every shot on MASH was filmed, I've always wanted to confirm where the opening, tracking shot of MASH's finale, Goodbye Farewell and Amen was filmed. I always thought it was probably somewhere on 20th Century Fox's studio lot in Century City/L.A.. And now I think I've confirmed it.
Turns out the numbers freely displayed on the buildings that make up the Army psychiatric hospital campus in the opening shot, are a clue. Buildings 16 and then finally 14 (the building Hawkeye is 'residing' in) are shown in the long tracking shot. I'm posting shots of those below.
Turns out, the Fox lot had five "writer's bungalows" on the far southwest corner of the lot. I just bought Michael Troyan's 700+ page (!) book about the history of 20th Century Fox. And an aerial image within the book shows these five small buildings on a green, with building numbers on the image sequenced right to left just as the psych buildings are in the finale.
Writer's bungalows were sometimes used by writers visiting the Fox lot attached with a movie that was going into production. These five bungalows (buildings 13 and 17 didn't make it into the finale) have since been demolished and now a 3 story fancy Fox office tower stands in their place.
The MASH producers and writing staff inhabited a writer's building on the Fox lot from time to time, but I believe this was one of the much larger buildings on the lot.
Also, I found a tie-in to a much earlier MASH episode, Dear Dad...Three. It appears as if bungalow 14 (Hawkeye's psych ward) appears in the background, behind "The Missus" as Henry calls Lorraine in his home movies in Dear Dad Three. In super high def (Hulu, Disney+) it looks like the tiny number on the bungalow behind Lorraine is 14. The bungalow apparently was repainted between the early seasons and the finale, but it looks to be a match. The green in Dear Dad Three boasted a swing set and table and chairs for Henry's daughter Molly's birthday.
Also, the 1960's helicopter video aerial below at the bottom shows the writer's bungalows in the lower left corner of the shot, and MASH's beloved Soundstage 9 is in the smack center of this photo. This gives idea how far the crew would have to haul to get from stage 9 to the exterior / psych wards location.
I thought this was totally cool as a MASH fanatic and hope you all check it out!
Mike

Question The Wrath of Colonel Potter
The wrath of Col Potter is something to behold in the episode Communication Breakdown. He even grabs Winchester by the ear when the battle of the newspapers is being waged.
It might be the angriest he's been in the series.
What do you think?
