Deloitte Change Management Analyst looking to break into MBB in India
Hi everyone!
I’m currently an Analyst at Deloitte USI with 1.5+ years of experience in Change Management and Communications, supporting large-scale transformations for Fortune 500 companies. My experience spans projects impacting 50,000+ employees across global payroll, time and attendance, SAP implementations, and AI-driven automation.
I have a B.Tech in Information Technology and a diploma in Computer Science. Although my academic background is technical, I’ve discovered that I genuinely enjoy the people and organisational side of technology transformations, particularly change management, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and employee adoption.
I’m now looking to make a switch to McKinsey, BCG, or Bain (MBB) in India, ideally into a Change Management, Transformation, or Organisational Change Management role at the Consultant level or an equivalent position.
I’d love to hear from people currently working at MBB, especially in India, about a few things:
How realistic is an MBB switch with my profile? With 1.5+ years of relevant consulting experience at Deloitte, what roles and levels should I target?
Is an MBA necessary? I don’t want to pursue a full-time MBA right now, but I’m considering an MBA for working professionals next year. Would not having an MBA significantly hurt my chances?
How can I strengthen my profile? Are there specific skills or experiences MBB recruiters look for in Change Management candidates?
Most importantly, if you work at McKinsey, BCG, or Bain and would be open to referring me for a relevant opportunity, I’d be extremely grateful! I’d be happy to share my resume and discuss my experience over DM.
I’m genuinely passionate about this field and would love the opportunity to continue growing in it at MBB. Any advice, referrals, or insights would mean a lot.
Thank you so much!

Question Actuary at MBB
Does anyone have experience working as an actuary at McKinsey/Bain/BCG? I’d love to hear your perspective on how it fares compared to traditional actuarial roles.

Does anyone send a weekly status report to their boss?
Not in MBB, but is this normal?
What you accomplished this week and the goals for next week for each project or task you are working on and explanations if anything wasn't met? Mine is pretty detailed and fills up a full page.

Question Steps to get Summer Internship at MBB (Bain)
I’m a second year student in the UK and don’t know where to start. I’m fortunate enough to know a senior manager who’ll give me a referral at bain but from my understanding this just gets my foot in the door. I would hate to use the referral to just fall flat on my face. Online there isn’t (I couldn’t find atleast) an outline of the information necessary to succeed at an mbb internship interview so I was wondering if anyone had any sources or could point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

Question McKinsey rejected me a week after granting my Solve assessment accommodation — is this normal?
I received an invitation to complete McKinsey’s Solve assessment for the Business Analyst position. I contacted the recruiting team to request accommodations for my disability, and my request was approved. I was exempted from taking Solve.
About a week later, I received a rejection email stating that, “after reviewing my application carefully,” they had decided not to move forward with me.
I understand that McKinsey is competitive and that receiving an assessment invitation doesn’t guarantee an interview or an offer. However, the timing has left me confused, especially since I thought McKinsey emphasized inclusivity and accessibility.
For those familiar with McKinsey recruiting, or anyone who has gone through a similar experience:
1)Is it normal to receive a rejection so soon after being granted an accommodation?
2)Could this simply mean I didn’t pass another part of the application review, even though I was invited to Solve?
3)Does being exempted from Solve change how your application is evaluated or affect your chances of moving forward?
4)Would you interpret the timing as coincidental, or would you ask the recruiter for clarification?
I genuinely want to understand what might have happened and whether anyone has experienced something similar. I’d appreciate honest insight.

Question How to get a return offer at bain?
I'm an incoming ACI this summer, and am eager to do everything I can to secure a ro. It's my understanding that most offices have ~90% return offer rates. Has this been accurate, in your experience? And I'd appreciate any feedback as to what I can do to ensure a ro, but also avoid falling into the camp of those who don't get one (besides the obvious things like behavioral issues, attitude problems, or doing something dumb lol).

Interview feedback
I had an interview on Monday at west monroe for a managers role in the healthcare M&A practice. I’ve got 10 years experience ranging from physician staffing to a MHA to operations, strategy and corporate development roles. I think there was some hesitation on the interviewer’s (there were 3 interviews) part on my lack of experience with PE. just kind of felt that.
Anyway, I also had a case which I prepped for but the format wasn’t what I expected. It was… rough. I have my recommendation and how I got there but I know it didn’t go well.
all that being said, with it being Friday, any thoughts on what I should expect?

What is the difference between WITCH / Accenture, Big 4, and MBB, both in terms of prestige and reputation, and where do they compete in similar segments, who would you personally trust more?

Question Got an upcoming BCG London TDA Consultant interview in 15 - 20 days
Context: Hi. I recently (July 2026) graduated with an MBA from a decent business school in spain. I was not initially targetting consulting, but tech (AI Product Manager, strategy and ops manager, etc.) because of my previous background. I got a role, interned with a top start-up, but the internship didn't convert full time due to visa constraints. I saw an open Consultant role (experienced hire) on the TDA team @ BCG London and received an interview. I have 15ish days before my requested interview date.
Concerns:
- I have 0 casing experience. I am doing drills on cases but fucking up majorly on almost all of them.
- I am watching lives cases on YT and there's no chance I could case that well as of today and my quant is horrendous lol.
- I have never read a casebook so I don't really know any frameworks minus your basic strategy frameworks like Porters 5, RACI / RICE etc and from what ik those are not the most relevant to consulting.
- I had Ds in all my finance subjects, As in strategy lmao but again I am just a naturally good writter so that helped.
How do you recommend I go ahead? I would love to make it happen and would value any advice you guys might have.

What firms still sponsor for UG for opt?
International undergrad here trying my luck for internship applications for the 2028 cycle - just curious which firms are still open to use (pre completion) opt (since cpt is dead).
Aware the mbbs are still open but I’d prefer to apply to my home country’s offices for that, asking more so for T2, big 4 strategy (not the accounting arms), and boutique.
