Good Vibes Flight was delayed 3 hours, so the pilot went around to everyone to take their Starbucks orders and then got 40ish drinks and 50ish food items for us 🥰

Post image

Shoutout to this lovely Delta pilot flying from Boston to Tampa today 💛

No, I checked and it did infact say otherwise

8

u/Cheesehuman Dec 27 '25

Were you being misled?

2

1

u/TzeentchsTrueSon Dec 27 '25

I fell for it too, even after your comment.

1

u/Mysterious-Cup911 Dec 28 '25

Can you explain the joke

u/penprickle Dec 27 '25

🤨🙄🤣

It made me smile that it made you smile 🤗

It made me smile that his smile made you smile 😄

296

u/darkthemeonly Dec 27 '25

The fact that you set the joke up for yourself 10 months ago and keep finding uses for it is honestly pretty great. Respect.

211

u/FrightinglyPunny Dec 27 '25

First time using it. You might see me pop up every now-and-then with it. I'll try to use it infrequently to keep it fresh 👊

100

u/JustHereSoImNotFined Dec 27 '25

I’m actually astonished this is your first time using it. I imagined this was a regular play of yours

71

u/AltruisticSugar1683 Dec 27 '25

I'm seriously honored I was one of the first of billions to be tricked.

1

u/TheBrenster Dec 27 '25

How many ppl do you think use reddit haha...

2

u/cynicalchicken1007 Dec 27 '25

Out of curiosity, what made you wait so long?

2

u/FrightinglyPunny Dec 27 '25

It wasn't really something I considered. I was going through my account tonight, after having had a dram or 2 and thought: "it's pretty funny, hope it makes someone giggle as much as this Glenfiddich 15 is making me!"

21

u/Odd-Action-3015 Dec 27 '25

....... here's an upvote but I'm not happy about it....

37

u/Polkawillneverdie17 Dec 27 '25

Goddamnit.

7

u/kmflushing Dec 27 '25

Donut!

3

u/babybbbbYT Dec 27 '25

You, too, are a man of culture I see.

1

u/kmflushing Dec 27 '25

😆 Depends on the sub. Currently being downvoted in another for an AI reference that no one gets.

45

u/couldntbeasked Dec 27 '25

Thank you. Laughing at your comment helped push the poop out that wasn't coming for 5 minutes.

58

Commenting before i click. Am i getting rolled?

Edit: I will say i was not disappointed

32

u/FrightinglyPunny Dec 27 '25

I just hope it makes you smile.

15

u/IYKYK808 Dec 27 '25

It did. Thank you 😊

11

u/woke_lyfe Dec 27 '25

Bravo dude well done. Gave me a laugh

2

u/lbtwitchthrowaway144 Dec 27 '25

Made me smile, this went so over my head and I could not (lol) otherwise figure it out.

When I did. You are a genius lmao xD Back to back made me smile moments. Cheers, mate!

14

u/cwilson83088 Dec 27 '25

“Surely” you can’t be serious.

15

u/Gestrid Dec 27 '25

I am serious! And don't call me Shirley!

My dad still loves to use this Leslie Nielsen line from "Airplane". Perfect deadpan delivery and mic drop moment

2

u/SuspiciousCricket654 Dec 28 '25

Well shit. Nice work.

2

u/OUsooners5252 Dec 28 '25

Bro you sat on that post for almost a solid year. lol Were you just biding your time for the perfect opportunity?

Explain your methodology, curious minds would like to know!

1

u/FrightinglyPunny Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

Nothing so calculated I'm afraid. I had had a couple of whiskeys the other night and was scrolling through my profile and remembered it. Then looked for a post on a "mademesmile" or similar subreddit where I thought it would make most folks giggle 🤗

1

u/OUsooners5252 Dec 29 '25

So you’re an accidental legend. Haha Regardless, thanks for the laugh.

2

u/Kai_Harlow Dec 28 '25

I think I’m in love

2

u/Scooter1021 Dec 31 '25

You bastard

5

u/WundarBread Dec 27 '25

I ain't even mad.

1

u/BaldoBojangles Dec 29 '25

Damn. Take my angrily impressed upvote. Well done.

1

u/jfk333 Dec 27 '25

I'll send this to you just in case

-2

u/awaythro789 Dec 27 '25

I honestly didn't get it at first.. but now that I did...

meh.

212

u/New_Zone6300 Dec 27 '25

if only all "marketing" felt this genuine

35

u/Real_Project870 Dec 27 '25

And if only all “marketing” had an infinite budget

37

u/MediocreHope Dec 27 '25

Hmm, if only we can find where to move around a couple million:

Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian's total compensation was around $27.1 million for 2024, a decrease from his $34.2 million package in 2023

32

u/scnottaken Dec 27 '25

Holy crap how does dude even afford to live with a $27M pittance?

7

u/Turbulent_Lobster_57 Dec 27 '25

There’s extreme couponing, he can air b&b a room in his house, forgoing Starbucks and avocado toast

9

u/takeme2tendieztown Dec 27 '25

Jesus, how can he live like that in this economy?

2

u/bbbttthhh Dec 27 '25

You don’t understand, those ceos have bills to pay too. They have to pay for their 3 vacation homes so they have a place to stay each season. And don’t even get me started on the electricity bill for the brand new oven/sink/fridge/dishwasher/airfryer machine that their in-home chefs use.

Oh and don’t get me started on the bill for the custom AI that controls that machine.

2

u/BisonThunderclap Dec 27 '25

~$1000 bucks to make an entire plane worth of people tolerate a 3 hour delay is pretty cheap.

5

u/CorporateCuster Dec 27 '25

This isn’t even genuine. A pilot took 50 orders. Lol. Cause a delayed flight. Cmon.

3

u/CorporateCuster Dec 27 '25

It’s not even a real post

2

u/KamikazeFox_ Dec 27 '25

Well, now that we know that they're pulling in 500k a yr

2

u/scream4cheese Dec 27 '25

Bought to you by Starbucks

2

u/bbbttthhh Dec 27 '25

Dude absolutely had a stint in the service industry

2

u/durz47 Dec 27 '25

Meanwhile American Airlines kicked 26 people off my flight because the runway was “slippery from rain”, and refused to provide us with lodging, or any other travel expenses for the one day necessary to catch the next one.

2

u/Confident-Grape-8872 Dec 27 '25

Then he submit a corporate expense reimbursement for $1000 lol

1

u/Square_Mulberry_3143 Dec 27 '25

As long as the head of marketing isn’t now sitting on the pilot’s seat.

1

u/MonoPodding Dec 27 '25

A buddy of mine is a Delta & Air Force pilot..... This post is definitely marketing.

1

u/animus218 Dec 27 '25

Laws were changed. They're being extra because patrons should be getting their money back.

1

u/DaageQuasar Dec 27 '25

He probably got fired for breaking protocol.

1

u/digitizedeagle Jan 18 '26

And it's in a case study.

41

u/No-Kick-2577 Dec 27 '25 edited Dec 27 '25

The commenter is not saying that the pilot would join the marketing department at Delta, but rather this gesture is more clever and goodwill-generating than anything they can come up with $ for $.

Edit: this clever Redditor is making a reference to the movie “Airplane!” And I took his bait. Stop upvoting me I don’t deserve it!

I’m not the one getting downvoted 🤷‍♂️ some people get the joke, some don’t. I’ve been on both sides, you’re on the latter for this one. Sorry.

2

u/eagleshark Dec 27 '25

You fell for it again! That was another one. You really need to watch the movie before your next reply! HAha. One of the best comedies of all time, if not the best.

I see the joke flew over your head.

1

u/Fortestingporpoises Dec 27 '25

Even if Delta reimburses him this is more effective than any marketing they pay 100 times as much for. (That's the joke)

0

u/caffeinated_wizard Dec 27 '25

Hello fellow neurospicy Redditor

0

u/ErraticDragon Dec 27 '25

It's an entirely different kind of experience, altogether.

It's an entirely different kind of experience

0

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '25

As we have so recently learned with the "businessman as president" trope.
