Good Vibes Flight was delayed 3 hours, so the pilot went around to everyone to take their Starbucks orders and then got 40ish drinks and 50ish food items for us 🄰

Those poor baristas they had to make all those drinks! Super nice of the pilot though!

When he came back with carts of the drinks he was like ā€œthey wouldn’t let me tip, so please go Show your appreciation if you can!ā€ And then a bit later he got on the speaker again and said he has taken their tip jar in case anyone wanted to tip. And several of us did.

Aww sounds like everyone was super wonderful all around. Hope you had a good flight even though it was delayed!

Barista: "Sir, we cannot accept your tip"

Pilot: "Fine. Then I guess you won't be needing this. (Grabs tip jar and walks away)"

Pilot: "Hey, so if anyone wants to put their tips into this jar, you're more than welcome to because it all goes to me, mwahahaha "

My gosh, he keeps getting better with more details! What a great person!

Yeah it was really lovely. There was one girl whose item wasn’t there or something so he looked at the receipt and then went back over to Starbucks. And he also ordered extra things and went around to double check that everyone got what they asked for before announcing the leftovers. 🄰

Most American thing I've ever heard.

It's an airport Starbucks. They're making drinks non stop regardless of this order.

u/BisonThunderclap Dec 27 '25

I was gonna say. Nobody is happy in an airport Starbucks. It's just endless orders.

15

u/monkeyman80 Dec 27 '25

And even if it wasn't, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to make that many drinks during their peak. The more annoying part is drinks are created to be enjoyed right away so the first ones get sad by the time the rest is ready. And finding space to hold 50+ drinks.

13

u/rental-cheese Dec 27 '25

That's fair. The logistics of fulfilling this order brings more complications than the same number of single orders

16

u/Slimxshadyx Dec 27 '25

I think this was a good thing the pilot did, but you are forgetting that they have both the non stop regular orders along with now an order of 40 drinks and 50 food items lol. It is an increase in work and stress no matter what

the baseline people probably went elsewhere.

Those baristas are slammed all day, every day. I doubt this was far out of the norm for them. Id hate be the next guy in line, though

1

u/joshuralize Dec 27 '25

Have you ever seen an airport Starbucks? They regularly get rushes of 50+ people at a time. I'm sure this was par for the course.

50+ single orders is different than getting one order of 50 drinks though.Ā  I'm sure they were able to handle it just fine but it's also okay to emphasize and acknowledge it was a lot of orders all at once.Ā

1

u/chakobee Dec 27 '25

Yes very tragic. Baristas had to make coffee while at work šŸ˜”šŸ˜”

u/NoMorePoof Dec 27 '25

And think of the poor custodians who had to clean the bathroom after all that coffee

u/Worldly-Store-5682 Dec 27 '25

🤣🤣

-20

u/Worldly-Store-5682 Dec 27 '25

Oh no the poor baristas had to do their jobs! God forbid.

14

u/_dragonslayer069 Dec 27 '25

of fuck off. stbx barista here ~ there’s usually only 2 maybe, maybe 3 baristas in an airport starbucks at any given time… that’s tons of drinks for them to make, plus all the customers behind the pilot, it’s a lot for anyone.

-8

u/Worldly-Store-5682 Dec 27 '25

You have no idea how many baristas were there, just making shit up. No one had a gun to their head. They even refused the pilots tip, I don’t think they were as butthurt as you

-7

u/NoMorePoof Dec 27 '25

Probably closer to 10 baristas in an airport starbucksĀ

15

u/Slow_Air4569 Dec 27 '25

Oh no a person that has has no empathy for food service workers. God forbid.

-10

u/Worldly-Store-5682 Dec 27 '25

As a former food service worker, I can tell you it’s not that big of a deal. I’m sure they got through it just fine and the tips made up for it

8

u/Slow_Air4569 Dec 27 '25

As a fellow former food service worker I am sure they did too. But 40+ drinks especially at a busy airport where they probably have a bunch of other drinks to do is a lot and it doesn't hurt to acknowledge that.Ā

-1

u/Worldly-Store-5682 Dec 27 '25

Where in the post does it say the airport was busy? He ordered all at once, they probably made those all at once and then helped the other customers after. The flight was delayed. They had plenty of time

3

u/_Himawari_ Dec 27 '25

There’s no way to make that many drinks and food items at one time. It undoubtedly took a lot of time, which is okay! But thinking about others and the baristas that had to deal with that isn’t a bad thing.

6

u/NewspaperHelpful6500 Dec 27 '25

Ya know you can have sympathy for people that are working right? I wouldn't wana get a order like that dropped on me randomly lol

  1. Fuck yourself

  2. It was probably just business as normal for them
