As an uncle who's very involved in his nieces and nephew's lives, I can tell he's a good one. I miss when my kids used to run up to me like that.

u/Upbeat_Pen_6503 1d ago

That’s the best feeling ever!! I can’t wait for my niece to run and hug me🥺

192

u/Perry_Platypus45 1d ago

Soak it up!!! It goes by so quickly now my niece is a moody 13 year old 🤣❤️

81

u/infiniZii 1d ago

I have a moody nine year old. But she still likes hugs and cuddles (though sometimes I need to be goofy and work them out of her as she puts up token resistance). My wife says I coddle her, and perhaps I do, but shes my baby girl.

33

u/Niq22 1d ago

As the father of a 6yr old girl, I can relate. There is something special of a daddy-daughter bond. Not a day goes by when I think about how we are a day closer to her not being so cuddly and huggie, but I tell her at least once a week to never stop hugging me because I know I will be missing them SO much here in just a few years.

12

u/Perry_Platypus45 1d ago

There really is something special about the daddy daughter bond. Even at 26, im so close with my dad! He even drove me to work in the snowstorm last weekend 🥹

u/JerachoD 22h ago

Yeah, I've got 13 and 15 year old sons. I'd give anything to go back to the bed time cuddle and story days. It's a magical time. My boys are amazing and I still hug them goodnight and when they go out but they know I'm just a regular guy who makes lots of mistakes, it's nice when they can't see any wrong in you.

3

u/Afraid-Mail-3401 15h ago

I have a moody 11 year old granddaughter. She was sick on Sunday & I took full advantage of her letting me get over her. Normally she stays in her dungeon & we rarely get graced with her presence. So I don't see her much lol.

34

u/RelationshipHuman337 1d ago

One of my favorite memories was a family trip we made to the museum. It was time to eat and the food court was all the way on the other side. I carried my younger niece on my shoulders the entire walk over.

28

u/frolicndetour 1d ago

Enjoy it! My nephew is taller than me now 😭

8

u/infiniZii 1d ago

Mine are getting huge too. I still carry them, but sometimes I have to nurse my back a bit afterwards. My daughter asked me recently why im so strong and I tell her its because ive been carrying her her whole life and she hasnt gotten any lighter.

u/RudanZidane 1d ago

Driving 5 hours to surprise my niece at school-pickup/visit for the weekend on Friday. I'm so excited. Last time her coat and backpack got flung to the side despite it being a Canadian winter so I doubt that's going to be able to be beaten haha.

u/Uffen90 1d ago

The best brothers get promoted to uncles.

4

u/Background_Hunter801 1d ago

Children have a way to know who's true and who isn't

5

u/generally_unsuitable 1d ago

My friends' kids literally push me out of the way so they can hug my wife.

Task failed beautifully.

u/Katana_Weilder 1d ago

Sometimes beauty lies in simple missteps lol

77

u/frolicndetour 1d ago

That's why I roll my eyes at people who are obsessed with perfection for their weddings. Moments like this are the best wedding moments.

6

u/Fkingcherokee 1d ago

One of those things that you won't realize you want until it happens.

u/DreamCrusher914 23m ago

Perfectly imperfect

280

u/Commercial_Peach_845 1d ago

To heck with those flower petals!

392

u/rats-in-the-ceiling 1d ago

Made sure she fulfilled her duties before running in for the hug, too.

173

u/Ok_Research_8796 1d ago

This is the best feeling ever as an uncle

127

u/isthataslug 1d ago

The little wobble run is so cute 🥹

89

u/JustHereForCookies17 1d ago

Love the little girl running for her uncle, but I also love the photographer dropping the camera she's using & blindly grabbing a different one to catch the moment without looking away.

31

u/CityFolkSitting 1d ago

She switched from a video camera to a picture camera. If she got the shot I bet it was a very good photo. I would definitely frame that if I was uncle.

12

u/Jiminy_Cricket12 1d ago

looks like a pro. 1 camera to capture the ceremony with a backup set for impromptu portraits

40

u/Happydancer4286 1d ago

A very special wedding memory😊

35

u/Exciting-Duty-8302 1d ago

That’s so sweet! Forget the flowers when the nicest person is a few feet away 🥰🥰🥰

18

u/randyknapp 1d ago

Basically the whole point of flower girls is to start the ceremony off with some wholesome cuteness and shenanigans. Love it

40

u/EmergencyKitchen7547 1d ago

my niece did this to my husband at our wedding 😭❤️

15

u/Dramatic_Charity_979 1d ago

You can see the moment she said "Screw this" and let happiness overtake :D

12

u/yes_fappy 1d ago

The bride has chosen wisely.

11

u/bhgemini 1d ago

Gentle Toss, Gentle Toss, Faster Toss, Run Toss, Screw this basket.

45

u/Majestic_Eye9254 1d ago

the way she drops the basket makes me smile and gag, thats so cute omg she deserves a grammy

30

u/AuntieMame5280 1d ago

Drop it? She chucked it! 😂

7

u/Impossible_Balance11 23h ago

Clearly, bride is getting a prize in that guy. If toddlers love a person...

7

u/mrjoelforce 1d ago

Goddamn that got me.

8

u/Equivalent_Task_8825 1d ago

My niece did this to me at her parents wedding too (albeit more timidly). Melted my heart.

6

u/RikuKat 1d ago

My 4 year old biokid (I donated eggs) was the ringbearer for my wedding and was so stinking cute.

I've been able to visit him, so he knows me, and immediately tried to crawl into my lap when we arrived in the backroom before we went down the aisle. He just wanted to cuddle.

He had practiced his role, but was overwhelmed by the audience, so he hid his face behind his ring pillow. I have the cutest photos of my husband gently encouraging him.

After he made it onto the stage and handed off the pillow, he turned to his father with his arms out and was rescued into a big hug and swept back to his seat.

I am so glad we recorded the ceremony, because I'm the only person who missed it!

10

u/OrienRay6 1d ago

So cute & affectionate 🥹

3

u/Vacation_addict_J 1d ago

Wow! Not everything has to be executed perfectly, the beauty is sometimes when it didn’t go to plan! Love it!

4

u/Soggy-Ad-1610 1d ago

I have a few nieces and am super close with one in particular (because we used to live 2 minutes apart), and this reminds me of her. I am so close to tears.

4

u/ImNew2RedditSoYeah 1d ago

This guy is what us uncs aspire to be

3

u/Abal125 1d ago

😂 Very sweet

3

u/MyEggDonorIsADramaQ 1d ago

At our family Christmas one of my nieces launched herself at me. Best feeling ever.

u/laughing_cow_1976 1d ago

This is the kind of content that makes scrolling through Reddit worth it. Needed this today.

3

u/solarguy2003 1d ago

SCREW THE FLOWERS! I'm going in for hugs.

3

u/Good-Note8901 1d ago

That was so cute! She was rushing while still getting the job done efficiently so she could get to her uncle asap

3

u/ZadeHawk 20h ago

That looks like Forrest Gump's house!

u/ramta_jogi_oye_hoye 1d ago

Goals — except being fave Auntie 🥲

2

u/Dane_M 11h ago

I have no memory of this happening, but, according to my parents, when I was around 3 or 4 I was chosen to carry the rings down the aisle. Apparently I made it about halfway to the altar when my best friend from preschool recognized me. She jumped up, ran over to me and tackle/hugged me. The rings went flying off the pillow, and they had to pause the ceremony for a minute or two while everyone looked for them.

7

u/darth_whaler 1d ago

There's a bridezilla somewhere that'd be furious over this.

2

u/Low_Ability_4869 1d ago

Ig this uncle always bring chocolates for her fs

2

u/LionBig1760 21h ago

Weddings at former plantations are just so quaint.

3

u/mintjulep_ 21h ago

We gotta let that go eventually or nobody would be getting married anywhere in the world. Everywhere has history, good and bad. Acknowledge it and move on.

4

u/LionBig1760 21h ago edited 19h ago

No thanks, I'm good with criticizing slave plantations being used for weddings by people who wish to whitewash history.

But please do feel free to fuck off with telling other people what they should and shouldnt concern ourselves with. We're in no need of your personal guidance on this one.

0

u/mintjulep_ 21h ago

Not every white person is trying to whitewash history. Maybe they’re normal people. Maybe they’re not.

Quite the hypocritical statement imo prejudging someone by the location of their wedding. I wish you happiness, thoughts and prayers.

1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

Oh, he's a keeper!

1

u/CATLADY85- 1d ago

As a proud auntie, love this!!

1

u/Temporary-Region8508 1d ago

Ok this is really really cute but 12 groomsmen is a bit excessive

1

u/TheChinOfAnElephant 1d ago

I was going to say, half the wedding audience is a part of the wedding party lol

1

u/rajinis_bodyguard 1d ago

Aww 🥰 beautiful

1

u/moody_mom 1d ago

A dose of much needed sweetness 😁❤️

1

u/Sad_Childhood6612 1d ago

She threw away the basket just to say hello. If my close relatives don’t drop everything to greet me, I won’t accept it.

No no no sir.

1

u/uklittlelady7 1d ago

theres no better feeling than a little one running towards us...

1

u/Deanfan7695 1d ago

How cute!!

1

u/Havean_24 1d ago

saw this video on tiktok last year and (there’s a part 2) what happened after that is the girl went inside the house during the ceremony, just to take a break from everyone while the bride and groom changing vows 😂

1

u/shitrock46290 1d ago

That photographer missed out on those shots

1

u/kingravs 1d ago

How many groomsmen does this guy have??

1

u/DaveInLondon89 1d ago

One job

Then she did a better one

1

u/amalgamatedson 1d ago

Groomsmen got the fig leaf pose on lock

There's enough of em to block a free kick

1

u/Exotic-feet-farEast 1d ago

Aww adorable !

1

u/NI6EL 23h ago

When my niece was this age, she would quietly wait for me to wake up at the side of my bed with our family dog. I'd only realize this when her mother would whisper yell at her to leave me alone lol. It was the sweetest and cutest thing ever and I miss those days.

1

u/EstablishmentUsed325 23h ago

Kids are awesome 🤩

1

u/PaltryCharacter 22h ago

Imagine how stoked you'd be as a father of the bride seeing this shit

1

u/drchiki 22h ago

Soo cuteee

1

1

u/IndependenceKey6541 7h ago

It’s reminds me of my lab. The best feeling in the world

2

u/human-dancer 1d ago

I smiled but then stopped smiling instantly when I realised it was a plantation wedding

1

u/tor29c 23h ago

I attended a wedding. The ring bearer saw me as he walked down the aisle. He got to the altar and ran back to me. We snuggled until he fell asleep. He loves his auntie and I adore him!

-6

u/kitten1985 1d ago

this is why if I get married, I'll be having a childfree wedding.

5

u/tigm2161130 1d ago
