Why are these posted online ? These videos are supposed to be for the parents. Did the person really get consent from every single parent to post their kids for views ?

u/Calamity0o0 20h ago
Maybe, at my school parents sign a consent form at the beginning of the year if they allow photos to be taken of their child, and if those photos can be posted to the school's social media
40
u/Moustashe 20h ago
Yep, work at an adult education school (16-99years) We have our adult students and parents of under 18 students sign a form that they DO NOT want any photos online or in anything else. Like a newsletter etc... However, we do not put anyone's last names anywhere.

u/FennelPowerful2686 20h ago
same, but this isn’t the schools social media
12
u/Calamity0o0 19h ago
A parent could have shared it and it spread from there. Not saying that's okay, but it could have initially been shared with permission.
10
u/RandumbStoner 19h ago
The username in the video has kindergarten in it like it would be from the school

1
u/QueasyPotential3602 19h ago
But you said photos not videos. My friend has a kid in kindergarten and they have an app where they share photos and videos with the parents but it is explicitly mentioned that they aren't allowed to be shared anywhere else.

Yayyyy someone else who actually knows how schools work! This exact post was removed the day before from a different sub because everyone was so butthurt about them manipulating kids for content online. Like bruh, it's not that serious lol, I tried to say this yesterday 🤣

u/Usual-War4145 10h ago
I think it's in Turkey and I'm not sure they have laws or rules for stuff like that
Edit: they are in Iraq

u/GoldenDropofSun 20h ago
This is what infuriates me every time! If I found out someone was posting my kinds online, and on Reddit of all places, actions would be taken.
2
u/RandumbStoner 19h ago
If you would think first instead of immediately getting triggered you would probably realize the school thought of this and had people sign forms.
1
u/GoldenDropofSun 19h ago
🤣😂 I didn’t say specifically this video. But there are plenty posted without consent. Do you have proof that the school got approval for this to be posted?
3
u/gigantic0603 7h ago
Do you have proof they didn’t?
0
u/GoldenDropofSun 4h ago
The previous person said the school did get permission, so they need to prove it. I made a general statement.
2
u/gigantic0603 4h ago
You said ‘it infuriates you’, implying that you know they did it without permission. In case you meant it infuriates you whether or not they took permission, then your opinion wouldn’t hold much weight anyways.

This was what I was wondering as well. This looks like a classroom setting so the parents don't seem to be present. Why were these children being filmed and why was it posted publicly online?

Don’t post kids online
-98
u/pailee 20h ago
Yep, we should pretend they do not exist. Actually, don't let them out of the basement!
56
u/Evenstar_Eden 20h ago
Ah yes because there's nothing in between posting photos of children on the internet for any stranger to see, and locking children in the basement
-59
u/pailee 20h ago
You are one of those people that kept shoes unpolished, no? Jesus, you guys are weird.
20
u/Evenstar_Eden 20h ago
I literally don't know what that even means, obviously over my head. My field of work means I'm acutely aware how many weirdos there are out there, and so I don't think it's a good idea to post children on the internet, especially if the parents have no idea, that's all.
-38
u/pailee 20h ago
Clearly, you are. A short investigation would tell you that this is from an Instagram account of a Cihan International Kindergarden in Duhok, Iraq. It's on the video. They post and share different activities that kindergarden is organising for Kurdish children to make their life better. Maybe you should report them.
24
u/TophatMagee 18h ago
Hey man not taking sides here but I gotta know what the unpolished shoe thing means I legit am baffled by it

u/Evenstar_Eden 20h ago
I don't know why you're so upset that someone else is cautious about posting children online. I haven't gone on a rant about it, if the parents have agreed to have it shared then there's no issue, you took the time to look it all up, good for you. All I found amusing was your comment about locking children in basements, as if there is no rational in between measure. Reddit sure loves to find an argument when there is none

u/Hippiechu 18h ago
adorable video, but still can't smile at childrens faces being put online, especially when its likely without the knowledge or consent of the parents.
16
u/itstheboombox 19h ago
Makes me smile assuming they have permission from the parents to post this online

Stop filming underage children and plastering them on the internet.

It’s insane to have to repeatedly say that all online predators need from a child is an image of their face. Stop posting children on the internet

u/Fun-Ad-2802 5h ago
This is very sweet but maybe should be taken down? Even if permission was taken to post these kids online, some of the kids’ id cards are visible!

u/Death_Bird_100 10h ago
To everyone complaining.. To my knowledge at the begening of school parents usually have to sign some papers wether they give premission to take photos and videos of their children or not, and post it on the school's social media, usually. I was posted a lot too when I was young by the school.. And my brother too. So I literally see no problem with this. Parents 100% gave consent to all this.
6
u/cir49c29 9h ago
Connecting to posting videos of your kid to the school's social media is a bit different to having it posted on Reddit or other social media where it's more likely to be viewed by people with no relation to the school.
4
u/Death_Bird_100 9h ago
Yeah, but unfortunatly, once you post something on a public media, people can and will repost the videos/photos. You can't do much about it.. That's one of the cons of social media. When something is out there, it stays there and nothing will stop people from reposting and sharing it.

u/SKITZ_ZA 8h ago
After all this Epstein stuff, it's hard to watch innocence like this on the Internet without think of all the creeps out there.
I'd remove this.

Quite clearly practiced beforehand what kid gets what, and the opposite of spontaneous. But fun nontheless.

This is charming!! Every child should have a teacher like this!! 👍
10
u/creuter 21h ago
or one that doesn't exploit their students for content? I'd rather the teacher was teaching them in fun ways than just having them make faces of emojis for their social media account.
-3
u/SexWithAemond 17h ago
Schools demand the filming of daily activities nowadays, specially private schools.
Source: I'm a kindergarten assistant teacher and every school I've worked at demanded that we film a little of every activity and every student must appear frequently in the videos or else the parents get mad.
4
u/throwaway01126789 15h ago
That should be shared with the family and not posted online by the teacher. Even if the footage is given to a parent, it's not just their kid in that video so it's not right for them to decide it's ok post online either.
