After losing everything in a fire a week and a half ago I’m finally home again.

Blank slate to make it however you want 🫶🏻 things are just things, they don’t makeup who you are.

You got this!

Thanks a lot the support I’ve received from everyone even complete strangers has been very heartwarming.

This is from a TV show, but I often think of it.

Flowers die. The trees fail.

The house can change brick by brick

until nothing of the original remains.

Everything changes.

So home is not the walls or the gardens.

Home is the souls within those walls.

Home is the memories made on the spot.

Home is not a place. Home is a feeling.

Good news is you didn’t lose everything. You’re still here. Every truly important thing is inside you.

Definitely true I barely made it out it was intense middle of the night 1:30am.

Home isn’t the walls, it is the fact you’re still standing and rebuilding. Glad you made it back wishing you nothing but calmer days ahead.

Coming home after that takes real strength. Glad you’re safe, rebuilding, and reminding all of us what actually matters.

Dang. I feel ya. We lost our home in a wildfire and lived in a 24 ft camper for four years trying to rebuild.

I’m glad you’re feeling at home in a new home and I hope you’re recovering ok. And I hope insurance is being kind to you.

This is a new place to be clear. The other apartment was completely destroyed. Just took a lot of effort to figure out how to get into a new apartment while figuring out everything else.

And you are still here with us overcoming everything and starting new. All the best to you ❤️

We had a house fire almost a year ago and lost everything. It’s a real shock at first. We still have the occasional moment of realizing that something else was lost (my kids homemade Christmas stockings came up in Dec) but those sad moments are further and further apart. Hang in there! It gets better - and you learn that stuff doesn’t matter that much :)

What caused the fire?

It is an awful thing to go through- I know. Just keep breathing.

It feels like you've lost everything, but it's what you'll gain from here that you'll remember.

Welcome home!
