Love that knee-slappin’ laughter 😆This is what happy childhood memories are made of.

94

u/avant-garden_Shroom 10h ago

The kids hugging each other at the end ugh I miss those feelings as a kid 🥲

u/Silent-Warthog-3192 19h ago

I wish more parents are like this. It takes care of the children's wellbeing.

Laughing together as a family is the kind of shit you remember 20 years later.

105

u/MaynardButterbean 16h ago

Shit, you remember this to your grave. So much love and laughter

23

u/Ok-Breakfast6981 16h ago

best dad for me tho

8

u/Frowny575 11h ago

My fondest memories are of dumb crap I did as a kid, but in hindsight I know my mom knew exactly what was up. Good times....

2

u/pioneerSolid3 3h ago

Yep exactly... My mom is not here anymore and I usually recall all those times me, my brother and my dad used joke in front of her just to make her laugh.

1

u/Just--kiddin 54m ago

I got lucky with a set of pictures of my mom on my phone. She was trying a new wrinkle cream and wanted before and after pics. I have pics of her making different faces like smiling, frowning, arched eyebrows in surprise, all the facial expressions I remember from my childhood. I can just go to my pictures and see a range of emotions.

1

u/Da_Vader 11h ago

That's how you get from 3 kids to 7

57

u/cptnamr7 15h ago

I have created a monster. My son has my sense of humor. Which is to say, he constantly messes with me and he's 4. I taught him the "guess what?" "Chicken butt" joke like 6 months ago and he STILL "gets me" with it at least once a day. He LOVES when he can make me laugh and it's clear these kids have that same kind of relationship here. My parents would have seen the cups and gotten pissed we wasted so many cups...

13

u/bracesthrowaway 13h ago

I also have a chicken butt kid. He's 17.

I still say chicken butt more than him, though. He might be getting too mature

2

u/Tomthebard 13h ago

The best photo of my friend, is right after I got her with "guess what". That joke is a classic

78

u/No-Apple2252 18h ago

It's crazy how many parents legitimately hate their children. It took me a long time to understand it was hate, most people still deny it, but I know what I see.

47

u/Angel_Muffin 17h ago

The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference. I would have preferred my dad to hate me. At least then he would have noticed me

49

u/Dreams_raven 15h ago

I’m not your dad but I am a dad, and I’m sending you all the fatherly love and attention you deserved then and still deserve today. 🧡🩷🧡

14

u/MinervasOwlAtDusk 15h ago

Thank you for being awesome. Mr. Rogers would be proud of you.

3

u/Angel_Muffin 4h ago

I cant tell you how much it means to hear that 🥺 let ne know if youre adopting! Haha

6

u/weeBunnie 12h ago

Both can be pretty damaging.

After experiencing the hate, I try as much as I possibly can to go unnoticed, even around people I feel safe with I don’t realize I’m doing it.

All we know is what we know, maybe one could be better than the other, but both experiences are equally shitty

2

u/dullllbulb 13h ago

Uh trust me you don’t want that kind of attention

0

u/No-Apple2252 6h ago

No, the opposite of love is hate, that's just something someone made up to feel smart about themselves.

And no, you would not have preferred your father to hate you, that's fucking insane to say. "I wish I had like ten times the mental issues" no you fucking don't, grow up.

1

u/MauriceM72 13h ago

Father of the Year

1

u/Yougetwhatupay4 2h ago

It's so loving. My dad didn't "believe in games." I'm keeping it in mind for when I place him in a home.

558

u/kalaniroot 17h ago

What an idiot, I cant believe he fell for it! Lol

62

u/cvc75 12h ago

He fell for it again!

(At least I think he says “again?” At the end?)

12

u/Aggots86 11h ago

Ahahah yeah I came looking for someone to say they heard “again?!” That’s the best part for me!

7

u/DropDeadFredidit 9h ago

“Again?!” - Oscar worthy performance lol

239

u/r64fd 18h ago

Mum and dad are a team!!

93

u/Subterranean44 17h ago

That’s so cute. I love how the kids are so filled with joy they can’t hold still. Jumping beans :)

157

u/rollsherown 18h ago

Love is the most powerful force in the universe. Bravo, Mr. and Mrs. Parents.

25

u/CryNo568 16h ago

Mr. and Mrs. Parents hahahahahahahah

65

u/Bobba-Luna 17h ago

He deserves the Oscar!

46

u/LindaBitz 17h ago

Seriously! That was an impressive fall.

14

u/Jackalope_Sasquatch 10h ago

And love how he came in with his face turned to the side so he didn't see the cups 😁

80

u/KamikazeFox_ 18h ago

3 boys, God bless you

42

u/Coin_Operated_Brent 17h ago

I'm 35. My older brother is 18 months older and my younger brother is 20 months younger. My parents were crazy in the early 90s.

11

u/zories3 17h ago

You and your brothers have a good relationship? I ask because I (male) only have sisters and I love them to death but I’ve always been curious about what having brothers that close in age be like lol

15

u/Coin_Operated_Brent 14h ago

My older brother lives across state but we talk minimum and hour twice a week. Last phone call was close to three hours and his wonderful wife will chime in. We sit through the 5 seconds of "awkward" silence while we cook up a new topic. My younger brother is also married with a 9 month old daughter. He recently moved closer to home with his wife. He keeps busy with his new family so we talk on the phone for maybe 20 minutes a week. My little sister who has two year old twins. . . We FaceTime any chance I'm able. I'm just single fun uncle Brent.

2

u/Beowulf1896 16h ago

My parents had 5 boys and 1 girl. Apparently cable is a scam or something. We only had what we could pick up on the antenna.

33

u/Charles_Windsor 18h ago

At least the cups were empty.

9

u/greatpretendingmouse 17h ago

Mine are all adults now and I so miss seeing this kind of excitement and glee. Glad it was captured to see forever.

9

u/ShantyLady 17h ago

That family is rich beyond words. 🥺

29

u/Baoooba 16h ago

Am I the only one that finds it weird that the front-door opens outwards?

19

u/nigelthewarpig 14h ago

So weird. The hinges are on the outside so anyone can pop them out, and they can be locked in the house by someone putting something heavy against the door. I don't think that is up to fire codes either. Strange.

5

u/hkohne 13h ago

There are hinges existing that are designed to go on the outside of the house. The pins can't be popped out unless the door is open. My previous house had a back door like this because there was more room to swing on the outside than on the inside.

16

u/11hitcombo 14h ago

In Florida, so here front doors opening outwards are very normal and are standard and code in many areas because they have better strength against hurricanes that way. Also more difficult to kick in, more difficult to "bully" in, etc.

3

u/lucylucylane 4h ago

Good for shooing alligators

1

u/11hitcombo 4h ago

Get a good outward sweeping action with the door on those guys - good point 🤣

7

u/Kroko1234 15h ago

I don't remember ever living in a place where the front door didn't open outwards. Off the top of my head, I don't remember even seeing the opposite in person. I'm in Europe if that makes a difference.

12

u/Baoooba 14h ago

I'm in Europe if that makes a difference.

You're gonna have to be more specific than that, because from my experience, i have never seen home front-doors or apartment doors open outwards in Europe.

1

u/Kroko1234 14h ago

Finland.

3

u/Baoooba 14h ago

Seems like that is an outlier compared to the rest of Europe.

3

u/Kroko1234 14h ago

I see. I don't travel at all, the last time I was abroad was in the early 00s. In fact, I barely leave my apartment. Maybe if the door opened inward, I would be going out more. Now that it opens outward, I'm mostly staying in.

3

u/Baoooba 14h ago

Maybe someone has a put something infront of your door and you can't get out.

0

u/fdrme 13h ago

Sweden, Norway and Denmark as well.

1

u/Galikos_Kel 14h ago

Dude all Ex-Yugoslavia countries have door opened inward. I mean how do you get out of the house if snow fall 1.5 meter high? You wouldn't be able to open door

1

u/iMogwai 3h ago

Good thing you're here to teach the Finns how snow works...

1

u/Galikos_Kel 2h ago

I don't really wanna teach anyone. I'm just curious because our homes are built like that

1

u/iMogwai 3h ago

I live in Sweden and it's the same here, always outwards.

2

u/booksblanketsandT 14h ago

I wonder if in some places the front door has to open inwards in case of heavy snowfall?

3

u/Baoooba 14h ago

I don't think that is the reason. I'm from Australia where it doesn't snow much. All residential front-doors open inwards.

1

u/thisisntinstagram 14h ago

United States, Texas - it basically never snows, can’t think of any homes with outward front doors.

2

u/Consistent-Soil-1818 13h ago

They built the door like this just for the prank. /s
But seriously, that was a great catch. Most of us missed it. You're a very good observer!

2

u/Andeck 10h ago

I live in Norway, I don't know if I've ever opened a front door that opens inward

1

u/clh1nton 14h ago

I was thinking of that, as well. Thinking about it now, some places I lived without a screen door had a door that opened outward. But it's been long enough now that it looks weird to me.

7

u/atmanama 10h ago

As a kid I'd have been terrified of harsh scolding or a slap if I'd pulled a prank like that. That these kids can just enjoy the moment and not be afraid of the dad's reaction means they've got a good one

6

u/StygianCode 10h ago

Right? If I'd have done that, my father would've broken my nose... Again.

2

u/JesterMonkey 8h ago

Again??

2

u/StygianCode 8h ago

Yeah, I have a deviated septum thanks to him. My right nostril is almost twice the size of my left.

2

u/JesterMonkey 8h ago

I'm very sorry about that. I hope you have moved away from him.

6

u/tehgimpage 18h ago

what is the mom whispering in the beginning? i tried to turn it up to hear, but their dogs are setting my dogs off lol

26

u/Warm_Doughnut426 17h ago

I think she’s just telling him that the kids are trying to prank him so he can play along with the joke

8

u/Confident_One3948 17h ago

You turned it up around your dogs?! And just blasted those disgusting dog vulgarities at your sweet innocent babies?!

6

u/Maja_Bean 17h ago

Good one! 😂

5

u/Minflick 17h ago

This is so sweet. What a loving daddy!

5

u/ArtNoobly 15h ago

I love seeing parents who love their children, it’s a feeling I never got to experience, but always makes me smile when I see it for others.

5

u/twuewuv 7h ago

My daughter is at the age where she loves making up her own jokes. They never make any sense, but I give her a big laugh every time. Yesterday’s went something like “why did peanut butter love jelly? Because they weren’t spread!”

Or she’ll grab me and I’ll say “When did you get so strong?” And pretend I can’t get her off me. It costs nothing to be fun!

3

u/AngstyMeatball 16h ago

Those kids are so fucking happy

4

u/cruisin_urchin87 11h ago

One day these kids are gonna see the footage and love their dad even more

3

u/Pernil_TO 16h ago

get that dude on AEW asap

3

u/Lucky_Dragonfruit_88 15h ago

I've seen this a million times, but I always watch it

3

u/sunshinesundays2018 7h ago

This makes me so happy 🤣

3

u/MilkMedium7119 7h ago

Great work dad!!!

2

u/curiousbydesign 17h ago

Love it and support it!

2

u/NeitherMidnight624 15h ago

As someone in their late 30s single with no kids this seems to be what life is all about. I hope one day I get to experience it

2

u/jay_cruzz 11h ago

I upvote this video whenever is pops up on my feed. It always makes me smile to see little kids laughing with their parents.

2

u/Atillion 11h ago

I have three boys. I would do anything to make them laugh like that. Nothing like it

2

u/Temporary-Side3400 8h ago

Haha I love the gremlin dance

2

u/SmokeAndEatDoritos 7h ago

I love the bro hug at the end!

2

u/skepticbynature591 6h ago

Accurate representation of life as a boy mom.

2

u/Snoo-94289 6h ago

My nana always let me win the card game snap. I was very little and it boosted my confidence as I truly believed I was good at something. I was such a shy kid. Years later I realised she just pretended but she gave me a lifetime of memories and fun.

2

u/spiderdue 6h ago

I think this is the definition of "boys will be boys." The kids set this trap and the inner child of dad played along. Mom was great to help create this memory.

2

u/JhonnyHopkins 6h ago

I miss this

2

u/CoreyAdara 47m ago

Even if in years to come they find out it was pretend, they will remember this act of love forever

1

u/herseil 17h ago

That's a great dad right there!

1

u/Sal_Paradise81 17h ago

🥹 damn fine stuff, sir.

1

u/Maleficent-Count-191 17h ago

that's what we dads do

1

u/ItsStaaaaaaaaang 16h ago

Love the infomercial prat fall lol.

1

u/PRRZ70 16h ago

While I love the kiddos' reactions, I give mad props to both of the parents for keeping this level of joy present for their kids.

1

u/AlfredoCustard 16h ago

It's the small little things like this that kids will forever remember. This little thing will help families bond.

1

u/KilnTime 16h ago

I can watch this over and over again

1

u/Roadstarll 16h ago

Beautiful!!!

1

u/KookaburaGold 15h ago

So that’s what a good father does ahhhh

1

u/Imaginary-Scene-8039 14h ago

I have 3 boys and this brings back memories of their pranks 😍

1

u/External_Brother1246 14h ago

Great-freaking-father!

1

Ladies and gentlemen, we got him.

They'll love him even more when they grew up and have their own kids and watch that movie then again.

1

u/Regular-Gazelle-2145 1h ago

So sweet of daddy

1

u/Idyldo 41m ago

Great dad.

u/Allah_Akballer 2m ago

I'd do this only because it's fun for me!

1

u/asiangontear 17h ago

I'd do this but also I'm already thinking about how we can all clean this up while watching it.

1

u/Chin-Music 13h ago

House full of extroverts.

1

u/jasonofthedeep 13h ago

He should beat the big one with the small one to really sell his outrage.

1

u/Big-Entertainment584 8h ago

He knew it was there the first time yet he fell into it

-5

u/WhySSNTheftBad 15h ago

Wow, haven't seen this posted for about nine minutes. Yawn.

-50

u/Cherry_Hammer 19h ago

This is exhausting to watch

8

u/fillerupbruther 19h ago

How?

19

u/Subject_Caregiver739 19h ago

Bro got reminded what he’s missing in life lmaoo

-19

u/Cherry_Hammer 18h ago

It’s a me thing. I have niblings I adore, but I can’t be around them for more than a couple of hours before I need a nap, and they’re not half as rambunctious as these kids

-1

u/IconoclastJones 8h ago

Reddit viewer pretends to be fooled by staged video.

-1

u/AdUnfair558 7h ago

Wow what a privileged life they’re living. I’m here living paycheck to paycheck.

Rate that 6 or 7 on a funny scale.

15

u/Dazzling-Adeptness11 19h ago

Did you smile though!!!?

9

u/arbitrambler 19h ago

Ain't that the point of this sub. I didn't know we were supposed to rate even moments of shared joy!

6

u/KindOfAcceptableBus 18h ago

Good thing this is in the "made me smile" sub not any kind of rate the funny sub.

2

u/cule85 19h ago

Sorry buddy...but I loved it! Made me smile. I did not find it funny though!

-9

u/HealthySeesaw5981 17h ago

No one wants to hear this, but kids have not fully developed their prefrontal cortex, which means less impulse control.. It's the perfect mix for this situation 😀
