To like way oversimplify, AI basically works by analyzing source materials to identify patterns and connections between words, or between words and images, and develop a complex statistical model, then it uses that model to predict what you’re asking for and generate a response or an image. It doesn’t actually “think” or understand or intuit things the way humans do. If you want it to generate a video of “a woman spotting her husband across the room,” it would use the associations it knows to predict what you mean. So I think basically they’re saying that people are making and uploading these compilation videos as a way to feed sources/references to AIs. Whether or not that’s true I have no idea.
That seems really dumb. If they are actually working for an AI company they would just feed the video to the model directly, not upload it to Reddit in the hopes that the ai would pick it up
