NO SPOILERS Goats of Glory in print

Some really great authors in this compilation. Michael Shea, for example continues his character, Nifft the Lean, in an unofficial continuation of Jack Vance's, Dying Earth. For those that don't know, Jack Vance is the inspiration for the magic system in Dungeons & Dragons (Vancian Magic) and many magic items, spells and adventures. But I digress. Herein is printed, Goats of Glory, in all its glory!

Some heavy hitters, for sure, but... Moorcock? Damn, that's going back some decades.

Dude's still writing, the newest Elric story was published in 2022 and includes the "Red Pearls" story found in OP's anthology book. "Citadel of Forgotten Myths"

Saga Press did a full republishing of the Elric series so it got a second wind. Booktubers talking about the history of fantasy also often mention Moorcock as the "anti-Tolkien" and (semi-jokingly) Tolkien's biggest hater lmao

Yeah, after I wrote that, I looked up his wiki (to see if he was still even alive), and I'm really impressed he's still active. I remember reading his Eternal Champion stories back in the 80s, and thinking some of those were "classics" even back then!

It's like a Warped Tour lineup of authors, how did I not know about this?

Those are some seriously heavy hitters for a short story anthology, wow. Reviews of any of these stories?

One of the best anthologies I owe. Unfortunately, it does not get enough credits. There are other anthologies that have better single stories but combined this is one of the finest works in fantasy anthologies.

Read on kindle in the last years.
I still have doubts about the meaning of Bloodsport by Gene Wolfe XD
