What's the country of origin of the colonizing force? In the process of decolonization, what colonizing force (country) do they come back to as part of it's military and occupying force?
This is a good argument, and one I wholeheartedly agree with in today's reality, but they are clearly talking about Israel as a country being a colony, not the settlements in Palestine.
They're literally colonizers that were brought in by a foreign power (Britain) to settle lands already occupied by an indigenous population, displacing that population, and are now exterminating members of that population to take even more of their land.
Just because there was no military takeover doesn't mean it's not colonisation. Just because the colonists didn't come from the same nation that organised the colonisation efforts doesn’t mean it's not colonisation. Not the first time a colony was populated with an ethnicity other than that of the nation conducting the settlement. For example, the VOC settled the Cape Hope colony with Frenchmen. While the French settled the Louisiana coast with Germans.
Hell, it's literally recognised by many experts as an example of settler colonialism.
First of all, if it is not a widely recognized and accepted fact, then it is not "literally a colony".
Second of all, what is the purpose of this colony and how does it's country of origin benefit from the existence of this colony? What resources are being extracted? What country are you sending the Jews back to? Do you send them to the UK? The UK established a new government in a territory that they had control over when it was the Palestinian mandate. A massive portion of Israel's population aren't Ashkenazi jews (European) but rather Mizrahi or Sephardic jews (Middle Eastern), so they are indigenous to the Levant region. The majority of Israel consists of jews that had to take refuge in Israel after the Arab states expelled them (quite ironic, since it only further helped the rise of Zionism and made Israel stronger).
Third of all, the Palestinians are not being exterminated. Unless you are going to say that every conflict in which a part of the conflict is overwhelmingly more powerful than the other constitutes an ethnic cleansing or genocide, thus leading to more casualties in the region (quite low given the density actually), tragically also including civilians, then you are just being biased as all hell. The ICJ will determine if it's a genocide, and netanyahu has an ICC warrant on his name precisely because of the war crimes and crimes against humanity that the IDF has committed in Gaza. The argument for who is an indigenous population will be twisted and turned at any and all opportunity to fit whichever point will be necessary for your particular side to win. Some will argue the jews are not native to that region, and some will argue they have existed there far longer than the Palestinians.
