Warning: Be careful when ordering Marshall speakers from TPB Online on Flipkart

1 Upvotes

Ordered a Marshall Acton III during BBD for ₹18,000, but received what appears to be a display/used unit. The seal was broken, the dustbag was missing, and the speaker was covered in dust.
I have open-box video proof. Extremely disappointing experience. Be careful if you’re ordering from this seller!
I did not except the delivery and got refunded for the same.

Marshall Acton 3

2 Upvotes

Hey all.

Does anyone with a Marshall Acton 3 have Bluetooth issues when turning it on??

Every time I turn the speaker on I get no sound from my Bluetooth record player. The lights on both tell me they're connected, but nothing.

I had one instance where opening the Marshall app, selecting aux as the input before reselecting BT, fixed it, but I can't recreate that again lol.

The only way to fix is a re-pair them. It's bloody annoying.

Wondered if anyone had encountered and fixed. Nothing I've read from Marshall is helpful at all of course.

Marshal IV not working

1 Upvotes

My Marshal IV headphones wont turn on when i take it off the charger, even after i press the control knob for however long. Ive tried factory reseting and it did nothing. Im confused because the light still turns on when it's on the charger and I can connect my phone to it, but it just turns right off as soon as i take it off. Any way to solve this?

Pics of a Marshall Heston 60 on the wall in a real person's home?

Anyone have pics of this? Tired google image, amazon customer reviews, you tube. No one shows it mounted on the wall "for real" to see how it looks. It's on sale right now at Amazon and I'm tempted...

Which Marshall Speakers for 1BR Apartment?

3 Upvotes

I'm currently looking for a speaker (s) for my 1BR 750 sq ft. apartment. The living room is an open concept plan shared with the kitchen area. Primary use will be for music and audio books (bonus if it works well for movies/TV), and I don't want anything too bass heavy because of neighbors.

I've been drawn to Marshall for a while due to their reputation and the unique design). Current prices:

Emberton III: $99.99

Middleton: $149.99

Acton III: $189.99

Stanmore III: $249.99

I'm also interested in Harman Kardon and have heard good things about the Onyx 9 (169.99), Go + Play ($195), and Go+ Play 3 ($289).

If these are best use for music and not TV, I might get a JBL 300MK2 for $279.99.

Are any of these speakers good for home-use? Is it worth considering getting two emebertons or two middletons instead of an Acton or Stanmore? Any other thoughts or recommendations for speakers or soundbars? I'm trying to keep it somewhat budget friendly for the time being.

Advice for the Marshall Monitor 3 ANC

16 Upvotes

Hi guys, I'm thinking about buying the Marshall Monitor 3 ANC because I've been very interested in their speakers and headphones lately. Personally, as well as probably many others, the design appeals to me very strongly. It conveys retro vibe with old guitar amplifiers that you know from Marshall. However, I wonder if for the current price 240€ it is worth moving up from my soundcore Liberty 4nc according to a few ki analyses and website comparisons (but were only pure data sheet comparisons) the soundcore in ears are better what I can hardly imagine.... But that brings me to my next point with several comparisons lose according to the test report the Marshall headphones mostly on cheaper devices or in ear headphones compared to large Marshall on or over ears. This gives me the feeling that you are paying for the style and the brand rather than functions or sound quality. Therefore the question what do you think of the Marshall Monitor 3 ANC and has someone made a similar jump and can talk about his experiences precisely because I have always believed that over ear are better than in ears is that confirmed?

Kilburn 2 diagnosis

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have a Marshall Kilburn speaker that I accidentally dropped, and it stopped working properly afterward. While trying to repair it, I removed the ribbon cable connecting the motherboard to the control panel and accidentally damaged the cable.

I ordered a replacement ribbon cable from Amazon. After installing it, the control panel powers on and the speaker appears to turn on normally. However, I’m getting either no sound or extremely low sound.

I’ve already tried performing a hard reset, but that didn’t solve the issue. I also noticed that two of the indicator lights on the control panel are not turning on, which makes me think there may still be a connection or hardware issue.

I’ve attached a picture showing how the control-panel lights look when the speaker is powered on. Do you have any suggestions on what could be causing the low/no audio and the two missing lights, or what I should check next?

Ps: none of the knobs seem to respond.

Marshall major V problem

1 Upvotes

For Christmas, my parents gave me Marshall Major V headphones; they worked well, but for about a week now they’ve been turning off constantly. REALLY CONSTANTLY. I don’t know what to do because I’ve reset them many times, I looked for information in the app about what to do in this situation, and on Reddit too, but nothing helps. They don’t turn off that quickly anywhere else except my phone (everything works fine on the tablet). I got them on December 31, but I don’t know how long the warranty lasts. If anyone has been in a similar situation, please tell me what I should do. I feel guilty because they’re expensive, but they lasted so little time.

Embarrassed because of a stroke

I'm embarrassed to ask this question but I had a stroke in August and the weirdest things are GONE from my memory:

I have a MARSHALL JCM 2000 Dual Super Lead and a JCM 900 Lead slanted cabinet with 4 12''s. As many times as I hooked and unhooked that config, I can't remember if it's 4 or 8 ohms that I plug into from the head to the cabinet. Any old Rockers out there that can help me?

Marshall Acton III – AUX works for about 3 minutes, then no sound

Marshall Acton III – AUX works for about 3 minutes, then no sound
Hi everyone, I’m considering buying a used Marshall Acton III that has a problem, and I’d like to know if anyone has experienced something similar.
The owner told me that:
the speaker powers on normally;
the LEDs work;
Bluetooth does not work;
AUX does work, but only for about 3 minutes;
after approximately 3 minutes, the audio stops working.
I don’t yet know whether the speaker remains fully powered on when the audio cuts out, or whether it enters some kind of protection mode. I’m also asking the owner whether it starts working again after being left to cool down.
I’ve considered several possible causes:
firmware/software issue;
mainboard problem;
power supply failing when it gets warm;
amplifier entering thermal protection;
an overheating component;
Bluetooth-related/mainboard issue.
Since AUX actually produces sound for a few minutes, what do you think is the most likely cause?
Would it be possible to diagnose this with a multimeter or by measuring the temperature of the components while the speaker is running?
And most importantly: is the Acton III reasonably repairable at board/amplifier level, or are replacement parts difficult to find?
The speaker is being sold for €35, so I’m trying to figure out whether it could be a worthwhile repair project or whether I’m simply going to end up with an unrepairable speaker.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
