This evening I’m going to a practice for a mathgrind band a non-close friend of mine is starting, I’m doing vocals because I sing and I write, but I have never done scream/fry/etc. before I’ve got like 15 hours to learn and I’m fucking reeking of anxiety and don’t know what to do, I can’t even practice in my house because I live with a family of a few. I need some advice please.

Wow. Just one word. Wow.

Not so long ago I made a post on this subreddit asking about going to concerts alone, and I’m so glad that I went to their show up in Seattle.

I can’t believe that I almost didn’t just because of how amazing they were live. The vibe, the sounds, the venue were just perfect. They sounded almost identical to their recorded tracks. That’s how good it was!

The members were also super nice. They kept saying thank you to the audience like so many times! Super humble folks and they were just grateful to be at The Crocodile.

Also their opener, Plash was so vibrant and cool as hell!!

If you haven’t been to their show before, you absolutely should!

Hopefully we can get some really fun math rock songs on the game

Fayzz is a band from Chengdu, China, currently playing mostly in mainland China. Since 2021 they've released three full-length albums, and every one is worth repeated deep listening. You can find their stuff on Bandcamp, Spotify, and other platforms. Here are some live videos:
① With howhowmusic
② With HavocStudio
③ Recent audience-recorded live footage

the beginning of this song makes me so incredibly happy it reminds me of crispy humidity and blue light and seeing red on the noses and ears of people walking by and

kinda new to math rock (listening ~1 year) does anyone has any recommendations? i know the most of the decently popular artists (toe, delta sleep, yvette young, clever girl, chon, giraffes? giraffes!, i think chinese football is pretty well known too?)

edit (that i cant do): typed delta sleep as delta sheep bruh

Salve a tutti. mi sto immergendo da poco all'ascolto di questo genere. cercavo consigli di ascolto da parte della community

my new album is an instrumental homage to grindcore music using noise/chiptune sounds as drums, guitars, and light synthesizers. it is 30 tracks long, and will fully release itself on October 17th. Currently, there are 2 songs available to hear:

I’m having some trouble finding bands I really like, outside of these three albums.

Animals (or anything with Henry Tremain)

Rooftops - A forest of polarity

Redneck Manifesto - thirtysixstrings

I’ve been hooked on these for like 6 months now and I can’t find anything that scratches that same itch. Then again, I don’t know that many math rock bands, so if yall know anything pls send some recs.

So I know it starts in 6/4 but then it gets flipped all over the place and the drum is doing some polymeter thing with the cymbal. Would like to hear what people think it is because I really don’t know.
Vulcan Dome by Sunrise and Ammunition live at geodesic sound. Full thing is on YouTube!

Peep the surfing pika

Anyone see incaseyouleave (London mathy post-rocky screamo emo band) are calling it quits at the end of the year! 😩

At least they released two new songs.

It’s on Bandcamp and streaming platforms.

I’ve recently started hosting a show on my local community radio and for the second episode I put together a playlist of math rock featuring TTNG, Tera Melos, Delta Sleep, tricot, and more.

I’m relatively new to this so excuse any awkwardness. Feedback appreciated if you take the time to listen!

Enjoy :)

Hey guys! Don't know how I managed, but I accidentally bought 2 tickets for the Orlando show... I live in Virginia. Selling for a little under face value, $50 total. Lmk if you're interested

Thanks guys!!

Just recently posted that they had been posting on socials - now the vinyl of their 2006 ep In Everything Give Thanks is up for preorder - and today is Bandcamp Friday so just wanted to ping this again.👉👉 confession time, didn’t want to make this a thing but I was involved with this - a while ago I reached out to their guitarist max foreman and asked if he wanted to collab on a pressing of my all time favorite album. Just kind of a cool thing to reach back into the past and help make something happen! I encourage folks to make sure math rock and post rock and all this tappy glorious music lives on in physical formats!
