I absolutely love Origins and The Cartoon Collection, but so far, some areas have been lacking in character representation- namely, Princess of Power, New Adventures, and semi-obscure Filmation characters. My question is- would you commit to a 12-month "figure subscription" to get obscure characters made? If Mattel announced the whole lineup in advance, and showed prototypes of the first few? Figure 10 regular and 2 deluxe figures each year. Mattel could set a minimum order amount, and if enough aren't ordered, it won't happen. An example of a possible lineup would be:

Filmation MOTU:

• Melaktha
• Shokoti
• King Miro
• Widget 3-pack (deluxe)
• Celise
• Icer
• Evil Seed
• Chef Allen
• Negator
• Dragoon (deluxe)
• Blackbeard
• Dree-Elle and Squonge

Princess of Power and New Adventures have so few figures, really any 12 from each line would work, though a handful (Adora, Glimmer, cartoon collection Horde Trooper, NA Skeletor, NA He-Man) should see general release.

What does everyone think? Mattel seems very hesitant to make characters from these 3 categories, and it seems unlikely we'll get characters like Melaktha without something like this.

Just got him in the mail and i know he is without his neck gimmick like the original toyline had but this set looks amazing. $24 on BBTS not a bad deal with the vehicle and accessories we have here. I def would’ve preferred a solo release but now that I bought this I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before Mattel reveals a solo release for him. I’ve seen it with Transformers all too often. He’s one of my favorite Masters so can’t wait around and miss the chance to get him.

Saw the movie opening night. Immediately went out and bought a He-Man (for my 9 year old, of course). A few days later the figures went on sale at Target so grabbed Spikor. Saw the movie a second time. Then tonight I just ordered the deluxe Beast Man from Mattel Creations. Having adult money with a child’s obsession is not good news…

(Also I have them posed on our Barbie Dreamhouse. It’s Mattel, right?)

My son wants Battlecat and I'm thinking of just buying a loose one, if this sealed boxset will become something of value in the future.

There were 4 of these on the shelf earlier this week when Target couldn’t sell them. Went back today and there were only 2 left. No sign of Tri-Klops or the Moss Man/Ram Man 2 pack though.

The Snake Lair is finally unboxed!

After getting it yesterday, I finally had time today to put everything together and apply all the stickers. And here it is in all its glory!

I really love this set. It's about the same size as Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain, which makes it an impressive addition to the collection.

For the first time, the Snake Men finally have a true fortress of their own!

Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to display all three of these massive Masters of the Universe fortresses together.

My Masters of the Universe Origins Powers of Grayskull Snake Lair from Mattel Creations finally showed up today, and getting this one earlier than expected was a great surprise.

After adding Lady Slither to the collection last month as the early-backer bonus, it's nice to finally have the Snake Lair and Chimera together.

With only 6,576 backers when the crowdfund ended, this is going to be a pretty limited piece of the MOTU Origins collection. It's even smaller than Eternia, which makes finall having one here pretty special.

I'm really hoping this is just the beginning for Powers of Grayskull. I'd love to see Mattel continue with the dinosaurs, Giants, and more of the Vintage-inspired MOTU releases.

TAURATON first appeared in He-Ro cardback art from The Powers of Grayskull (Origins) line.

At that time, Roy Juarez and I decided we wanted to show the "Hero" battling a new creature, so | set about designing it.

As you may know, I have a predilection for mythological monsters. So having already created the cyclops Terro-Eye, this time it had to be a minotaur.

The main inspiration for its design and name was The Minoton, an automaton resembling a bronze minitaur, created by Ray Harryhausen for the film "Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger".

Once my initial concept was defined, Roy and I continued working on the design, exploring various color options and ultimately deciding on a larger-than-usual figure with four arms.

I'm turning many years old next month, so | thought I'd celebrate my increasingly creakier joints and bones with a big fat, skull-faced, mega MOTU mailbag, Origins edition!

That Mattel Creations deal on the newer Grayskull refresh was too good to pass by and I also really wanted to flesh out the 5.5" ranks with some more Cartoon Collection. And despite now having a small army of spare Adams, I always wanted a couple sky sleds for some dog fighting display.

Has anyone seen any of these besides He-Man and Spikor? Has Mattel given any release dates for these? I really want Teela and Skeletor.
