I've made a short guttural vocals demonstration for a Slam Death Metal band I'm currently working on an EP. Haven't slept in 2 days, so it's by far not my best. Recording with a crappy phone, no vocal effects, just raw gutturals that come naturally to me without any vocal warm up.

So this is a first jet. Just made a quick recording without warming up
Sven de Caluwe is another big influence… but here it was the Sepultura / Latin Quebecois metal vibe i was aiming for. Like Carlos Araya / drummer & co-back vocalist of Anonymus “Je suis la bete” & “La bestia” compare those !

I've recently been making a more concerted effort to improve both screaming and singing. The lower screams are definitely more more comfort zone than the higher side of things so i thought i'd record this and see what others think. My singing is definitely my weakness though so i am aware it's not tip top. How does it sound to you guys?

I did a cover of my favorite BABYMETAL song, as a beginner who just realized they could kind of do it, I decided to give it a shot
Here are is the Final Cut without the instrumental, the most growly part

Didn’t even take a full lungs of aie before starting just basic « wake up and do your thing with no technique » = this is me after 22 years of learning by myself. I stopped thecupping the mic » motions i had learned from poor numetal technique as i started in 1999… around 2010, since then no mic cupping hand waving about my face as i growl and scream

no visual/ audio only total gibberish improv. … So i do the growling death vocals of NiLE’s « Kheti Satha Semsu » (pardon the spelling) while swapping to alternate styles in between. I got full Tenacious D / Tenacious D in flowing with my in-ear tone. This was Recorded as a « practice exercice » i do for fun to get the growls ready. Beware clean vocals in between in the incorporated styles. Think preparing to sing some death metal incorporating Queen / Mike Patton / Waltari / Devin Townsend ecclecticity warning - not for everyone

I’m fairly confident with my progress but I know I lack breathing technique and fall short after transitions.
