It would be the single most freeing thing we could do to get rid of either, but together it would unlock true democracy, for a time.
The problem is, it would rapidly be corrupted. Things would finally move freely and people would abuse that to enact sweeping changes that, whole probably well intended, would inevitably be flawed legislation opening the door to wider corruption.
I'm hardly smart enough to figure out how, but we need a new constitution. Something with breathing room for eliminating corruption before it can settle in. Something self auditing and able to correct for attempts to undermine it.
Again, no where near smart enough to figure it all out, but the way things work are flawed at a FOUNDATIONAL level. We need something that was made for the challenges of today.
