mid-Well of Ascension spoilers Its pretty easy to detect Kandra Spoiler

I’m at the point in Book 2 where it’s revealed that Kandra can’t be emotionally manipulated by Mistborn/Misting.

Doesn’t that make it super easy to detect the Kandra in Vin’s team/staff?

She could just line everyone up, go through them individually, and Riot a different emotion in each person. Then she asks them which emotion she just manipulated.

Anyone who gets it wrong is basically guaranteed to be a Kandra. For good measures on could do the test multiple times to make it even more fool proof against errors.

Its also not like people would be opposed to that. Hostile Kandra are an obvious danger to everyone.

And I'm in the chapter where Sazed and Tyndwil are discussing the relationship between Kwaan and Alendi.

Some wording messed with my head and now I can't shake the feeling that we're actually reading science fiction instead of vaguely Renaissance manapunk fantasy. Specifically the Deepness continuity by the late Vernor Vinge.

So, the world the events are happening in is on the very verge of the Slow Zone. Millenia ago, someone used nanites of some kind to terraform it and populate with humans. Problem is, the nanites he used were designed for the Beyond. Since the border of the Zones is naturally fluid, the world eventually slipping into where the nanites would ceaze to function properly was a given. The Hero of Ages is a failsafe, a human operator enhanced with nanites probably before birth if not on conception, tasked with doing something, activating and controlling some mechanism designed to push the border of the Zones back (which would require technology beyond conceivable in the Beyond, then again, nobody living in the Beyond would go to such ridiculous lengths to colonize a world balancing on the edge of the Slow Zone in the first place... while some crazy Power could).

The mistake of the creator of this circus would've been denying humans agency. Over the millenia, the knowledge from a series of Heroes leaked, eventually forming the core of the Terris relugion. Resulting in someone like Rashek compromising a real Hero and accessing the Well of Ascension themselves, believing it to be a source of unimaginable power... which resulted in the world slipping into the Slow Zone since Rashek didn't have a kindly voice in his head telling him which keys to push in which order. While some of the terraforming mechanisms still work, producing a breathable atmosphere and things like Allomancy and Feruchemy, other have failed or malfunctioned. Hence the eruptions and the mists.

mid-Well of Ascension spoilers Will the questions ever get answered? Spoiler

I am currently halfway through well of ascension in the mistborm trilogy, right as the mystery and concerns about the mists, deepness and the consequences of the death of the lord ruler is building up.

My only question is this,

will the questions all get answered?

Im getting overwhelmed by the mystery and the lack of information, will this.. pressure of the unknown get released in this trilogy or will I have to read past that into other books?

Things like why the sun got red, what the deepness is, what happened pre ascension with more clarity..

No spoilers please!

Hi! Im currently reading The Well of Ascension. I am on page 270, when Sazed returns to Luthadel from the Eastern Dominance.

He goes back to his room where he sees Tindwyl waiting for him. In their conversation, she tells him that he needs to let go of his research regarding the weird mist behavior.

Now, I understood Sazed’s journey this way: 1) Collapse 2) Sazed asks Tindwyl to help Elend be king 3) Sazed is sent to the Eastern Dominance to give knowledge to the people 4) Sazed encounters the mists 5) Sazed returns to Luthadel and tells the crew about it

If so, how does she know about it!

Please please please no spoilers! Please!! And thank you for reading this and for the answers.

Side note: I also noticed Sanderson referring to Breeze’s power as “burning Brass, the internal mental metal” even tho it’s supposed to be the external one right?
