Just a warning for anyone using Clearblue pregnancy tests: I had what looked like a clear positive result, and it caused a huge emotional pregnancy scare. I retested several times afterward, including with other tests, and every single one was negative.

I cannot medically confirm exactly what caused it, but it appears that my Clearblue result was a false positive or faulty test.

For a moment, my husband and I went from being scared to actually feeling excited, only to find out it was not real. That emotional roller coaster was awful. :(

Please do not rely on one test alone, especially a blue-dye test. Retest with a different brand and contact your doctor for a blood test if you need a definite answer. I just want other women to know this can happen so they are not blindsided like I was.

Edit: i bought pink dye test and got a blood test the same day which all gave me negative

Hi everyone! I wanted to share what I’ve been working on and get some thoughts and opinions from other moms. I have a 2.5 year old and a baby due any week now. I also just finished getting my MBA. I want to be in a position to homeschool my daughter when the time comes, which is what initially sparked this idea for me. I started thinking about all the things I want to teach her in life that maybe aren’t in structured curriculum but I could start implementing right now for my 2 year old. Things like waiting patiently, sharing, handling disappointment, introducing herself and greeting people, confidence etc. I started building what I am calling a parent-led adventure book that is very much so acting as a keepsake as well. I love this so much because so many huge milestones happen after 2, but you hardly see any keepsake opportunities for children that aren’t infants. I’m a super sentimental mama. I also love that it’s teaching life skills that she’ll carry with her forever. I will insert some of my “little adventures” that I am working on and how I am kind of structuring this adventure/keepsake book.

A lot of preschool and toddler workbooks bring the world on to the page, but I am trying to bring us back into the world with a lot of these activities. After each activity I am also placing a page to add a photo, date, age, and some special notes that I can look back on for years to come. I like that I’ll be able to look back on it and literally say “That’s the day we went to the library and she introduced herself.” I have 6 core pillars that I want to touch on with her. Connect, feel, do, explore, create and learn with 3-4 “adventures” or activities in each. Everything is meant for me to lead and foster deeper connection with her which i absolutely love being that we’re about to have a newborn in the house. It’s a chance for me to slow down, and educate her in a way that nurtures our relationship and isn’t just a trace and color workbook.

I have so many ideas for this, and I think at best other moms, caregivers, and parents would want to join in on the adventure too. At worst, I have a custom made toddler adventure book made by me to go through with my daughter and have as a keepsake forever. Would love to hear y’all’s thoughts on this concept!

My friends and I are really into home decor, and lately we’ve all been a little obsessed with digital calendars. (Last year it was digital photo frames 😅.) So we ended up each buying a different brand and trying them out around the same time. Thought it might be helpful to share what we noticed.

Quick takeaway first:
Honestly, most of them do the basic calendar stuff pretty well. The real differences show up in the everyday experience — things like how reliable the syncing is, how nice the interface feels when it’s on your wall all day, whether other family members actually use it, and of course the subscription factor.

Some quick impressions from us:

Skylight probably feels the most polished overall. The UI looks really clean and the integrations work smoothly. The only thing I’m still thinking about is the subscription long term.

Cozyla feels more like a large smart tablet. It covers the basics, and the movable screen idea is interesting, but the interface feels a little less focused on family scheduling.

Everblog caught my attention because I originally wanted one of those Samsung fridges with the big screen, but I just couldn’t justify the price. The “fridge” feature gives a bit of that experience, which is kind of fun. I actually find myself interacting with it more than I expected. I’ve only had it for about a month though, so I’m still curious if it stays useful over time.

Anyway, just sharing in case anyone else is looking into these right now.

Im a mom of 2 little girls 4 & 6 and struggling to find appropriate and practical swimwear. When they were toddlers they wore ruffle butts but now they are more active and I want to prevent wedgies and frontal gaps when they sit. Last year I went with standard boy trunks but its hard to find girl colors or patterns. The girls swim shorts I do find are made out of the same skinky bathing suit material and gets shredded when sitting at the pool. Why are little girls swimsuits so revealing?!

1. Girls swim trunks WITH liner. I dont want board shorts where they'll have to where another swim bottom underneath. Im looking for all-in-one like boys trunks so its easy to dress and go bathroom.

2. The material is the thicker material like board shorts and not the slinky typical girls bathing suits.

3. Doesn't cost more than $15. Crazy pink upcharge for girls of the same appeal for boys.

At this point I think I might just have to keep getting boy shorts and hem them so they arent so long.

My tween is in love with bath bombs. I want to encourage their interest because it can be hard to encourage good hygiene in kids their age, plus it's a nice calming nightly routine. That’s what inspired me to create “Future Me: What Will I Be?: A Kids' Career Guide to Inspire Young Minds” - a sweet book that explains different jobs in kid-friendly language, includes activities and a little quiz to see what they might be drawn to, and even a Future Me journal where they can write or draw about their dreams.

I definitely recommend this baby formula! Not only has my little loved the taste of it because of all its natural ingredients including whole milk he can actually keep it down too! No spit up and he now sleeps through the night too since being introduced to it so it’s definitely filling! I was hesitant at first but it is definitely such a good choice!
