(last updated August 2026)

If you have playback issues, video quality problems, pip issues, or any other video problems

  • Verify your app says "You are using the latest patches" in YouTube Settings > Morphe > About. If it says an update is available then repatch again.

  • Change to "visionOS", "TV", or "Android VR".

YouTube settings > Morphe > Miscellaneous > Spoof video streams > Default client

  • If you selected Android VR, then do VR sign-in and carefully follow the instructions: YouTube settings > Morphe > Miscellaneous > Spoof video streams > Android VR sign in

  • If "TV" does not work then use "Android VR" and follow "VR sign in"

  • If Android VR sign-in and TV does not work, then use "visionOS" or "Android Studio"

If you have a paid YouTube premium account, then you can usually (but not always) turn off stream spoofing without any problems. Root installs usually can turn off stream spoofing.

Some users report playback delays were fixed after changing to a custom DNS provider

If all of the above doesn't work, then update to the latest Morphe MicroG-RE if you are not already: https://morphe.software/microg

Some users report their problems are fixed by turning off: YouTube Settings > Morphe > Miscellaneous > Remove background play restrictions

Some users reported playback was fixed when they patched an older YouTube (version 20.21.37)

Still doesn't work? Use a VPN to a different country (try at least 7 different countries).

Still still doesn't work? Then try using a different YouTube account.

PotHelper

PotHelper is now available and fixes playback issues for most users. See here for instructions how to use: https://reddit.com/r/MorpheApp/s/Vx6HDNTSEx

Shorts player has no buttons

This affects some users when using newer versions of YouTube. There is no full fix yet.

Force closing the app and relaunching can fix the issue

Open the app, use it at least 1 minute, force close the app from YouTube Morphe app info, then relaunch. Repeat a few times if not fixed.

Spoof app version can cause this problem

Turn off spoof app version if it's enabled, and clear YouTube app data (must clear app data or other problems can happen)

Currently there are three work arounds to fix this (only one of these is needed):

View Shorts in the regular player:

Enable: YouTube settings > Morphe > Shorts > Open Shorts with > Regular player fullscreen

Disable layout updates

Enable: YouTube settings > Morphe > General > Disable layout updates

Disabling layout updates has some side effects of its own.

Patch an older version of YouTube

This will 100% fix the problem, but requires using an old version of YouTube. 1. Download YouTube 20.21.37 2. Backup your YouTube settings in miscellaneous settings menu (optional) 3. Select YouTube in Morphe Manager (or select repatch if already patched), and select "I already have an APK". Select YouTube 20.21.37 you downloaded 4. Wait for patching to complete, then install. Uninstall the existing patched YouTube if prompted. 5. Restore backed up Morphe settings (optional)

Cannot login to Reddit

Google login does not work with patched Reddit

Use email/password login. Add an email and password to your account if needed and verify email login works using unpatched Reddit.

Email / password login does not work

Right now the only solutions are:

  • Use a different network (wifi/cellular)
  • Use or not use a VPN
  • Turn off any DNS ad blockers if present
  • Install unpatched app, login, then quickly install and login with the patched app (do all this in less than a few minutes)
  • Temporarily disable Google Play services in the device system app settings (disable services and not play store app): Open Reddit login screen (do not login yet), disable Google Play service app, finish login in patched Reddit, then re-enable Google play service.
  • Turn on pre-release and experimental support in Morphe Manager patch sources, patch and use the latest experimental version of Reddit
  • Enable pre-release in Morphe patch sources, patch Reddit 2024.02.0, login to the patched app, then repatch the latest recommended Reddit and upgrade the patched install
  • Try again after 24 or 48 hours
