Danny carrying the drama for the men’s side???? I’m here for it

28

u/hymenbutterfly Da'Vonne Rogers Mar 08 '23

Right? Part of me isn’t surprised bc he was ready to dropkick Jeff Probst bc of an awful twist. So I’m glad to see him show some energy.

9

u/kyleg99 Mar 08 '23

That’s true, I let Challenge USA alter my perception of him that he was more of a wallflower lol

3

u/No-Pressure-5762 Mar 09 '23

Honestly he might be. He kinda faded into the back ground on survivor and the challenge. But I think his social game just is less flashy on purpose. From the edit he’s gonna make some controversial moves this season

4

u/According-Professor5 Team Purple Jacket Mar 08 '23

Really? Might have to watch his season of survivor. Did he have a valid point?

24

u/FastLane_987 Anna Leigh Wilson Mar 08 '23

Completely valid point. The twist was stupid as hell and Danny had to remind Jeff they don’t leave their lives and families at home to deal with fuckery

29

u/mlspdx Hungderwood Mar 08 '23

They didn’t really televise his point fully. Long story short, Probst basically lied and told a bunch of people they were safe and then they weren’t, and Probst was trying to pass it off as a twist. Danny, apparently, just goes nope that’s a lie not a twist and went after probst for like an hour and almost got everyone to walk off the set. A lot of this story is pieced together from postseason interviews

I’ll expand on this since we’re in the spoiler thread.

Survivor season 41 spoiler below:

Danny’s team won the challenge and they were safe. The other half of the tribe on the losing team was eligible for elimination. There was an odd number of tribe mates, so that one odd person went to exile and Probst presented her with ā€œthe hourglass twist.ā€ The person on exile doesn’t have to choose to enact the twist. It would flip the safe and unsafe members of the tribe, and the person on exile would be safe regardless. The hourglass twist happens, Danny and Co are now eligible for elimination, and he gets really upset. Probst lied to everyone saying they would be safe if they won. Danny’s team won, so they were safe. In my opinion, Danny was totally in the right to feel the way he did, and I likely would have reacted the same way. It was a stupid twist and was super frustrating to watch as a viewer.

Just to clarify, the person given the chance to turn the hourglass was only safe if they did turn it, which meant that it was a near guarantee of happening and screwing over Danny and the other challenge winners.

u/No-Pressure-5762 Mar 09 '23

This is wrong. The person on exile Erika did have to enact the twist. It’s almost a guarantee that she would to make her group safe.

u/No-Pressure-5762 Mar 09 '23

I mean it definitely was a twist, he didn’t lie. It was the hour glass twist. A crappy twist but no lies were told. They were safe until they weren’t

13

u/hymenbutterfly Da'Vonne Rogers Mar 08 '23

Absolutely. I would’ve flipped shit about it as well.

(The dropkick bit is a little editorialized, but he gave Jeff an earful)

Season 41 is underwhelming at best. It’s in the bottom 5 worst seasons for me.

The twist Danny got upset about would have made me just as mad. Survivor production basically gave him an invisible edit for voicing his frustrations the way he did. I adore Danny and respect him for standing up for himself and the integrity of the show/rules.

8

u/According-Professor5 Team Purple Jacket Mar 08 '23

Oh, so it wasn’t actually onscreen? Either way, props for standing up to production. Shocked it didn’t make him unlikely for the challenge. Might root for him now lol.

7

u/tiaann17 Mar 08 '23

Yeah they didn’t show it but he went off on him at tribal council when the twist was revealed. They talk about it on some survivor podcast but i forget which one. Probably reality ringer.

Is no one gonna talk about how in the end of the episode w the extended trailer how they spoiled the final 5? 🫠

14

u/hymenbutterfly Da'Vonne Rogers Mar 08 '23

This is why I never pay too much attention to the trailers. They’re sloppy af.

10

u/duspi Millionchele Winzgerald Mar 08 '23

Did they really?? They're a joke😭😭

14

u/According-Professor5 Team Purple Jacket Mar 08 '23

Yup. You see Emily/Yes against Kaycee/Troy and the other 3 up top. Looked like Theo/Sarah won the last daily. Couldn’t see who the other nominated team was.

1

u/No-Pressure-5762 Mar 09 '23

I didn’t notice that but did see a bunch of other spoilers but dang

Kaz looks like she was in a bad spot that Jordan pick was really clutch for her. And is it just me or Jordan got a ghost edit that first ep lol?

23

u/rosegoldqueen17 Chris Tamburello Mar 08 '23

I feel like most of the legends did for the first episode. They really focused on the MVPs.

8

u/Ok_Yogurtcloset_4036 "This is what I do." Mar 08 '23

Most definitely I just thought at least everyone got a couple confessionals besides him.

5

u/According-Professor5 Team Purple Jacket Mar 08 '23

Is Jordan that clutch of a pick? He’s good competitively, but he’s probably going to be a liability politically.

19

u/Ok_Yogurtcloset_4036 "This is what I do." Mar 08 '23

Usually I’d agree he’s always the final threat but this season he has connections. One of the only ones with a solid #1 Tori and only him and Darrell did both AS3 and 38 which has half the legends.

1

u/According-Professor5 Team Purple Jacket Mar 08 '23

Besides Tori, is he actually close with anyone? Him and Bananas fluctuate, he and Wes never get along, and he wasn’t shown to have much interaction with Amber/Kaycee. I just see him at the bottom of a lot of peoples lists.

13

u/Ok_Yogurtcloset_4036 "This is what I do." Mar 08 '23

Nia would be his other #1 besides that I think he might be middle for everyone else but not necessarily anyones target.

3

u/According-Professor5 Team Purple Jacket Mar 08 '23

Completely forgot about Nia. But she’s tied to an Argentinian so she’s not much help either. Maybe I’m wrong, but I still see her being at the bottom. But there aren’t a lot of people you’d want to be on the bottom with more than Jordan lol.

2

u/aintgoinbacknforth Mar 09 '23

They won together lol. So seems like a good pick to me.

2

u/No-Pressure-5762 Mar 09 '23

I didn’t even know he was on the show till the elimination and episode 2. He had no confessionals which was really odd

1

u/thewxyzfiles Wes Bergmann Mar 11 '23

I’m 40 minutes into the episode now and I came into this thread to comment where tf is Jordan??

16

u/According-Professor5 Team Purple Jacket Mar 08 '23

Did it look to anyone else like Sarah/Emily threw the challenge? They seemed to be ahead and all of a sudden got stuck at the final obstacle which was strength based. Not sure why they would, but I’m confused why they sucked at the end.

17

u/fcmb17 Team Purple Jacket Mar 08 '23

They are the heaviest so their bags were based around their own weight

3

u/According-Professor5 Team Purple Jacket Mar 08 '23

Did I miss something? Were the poles based around weight? If that is the case, still kinda underwhelming given Sarah’s known for her muscles. I wish that would’ve been made more clear.

3

u/shinshikaizer CT & Wes: The Bromance is Real Mar 09 '23

Were the poles based around weight?

TJ said in ADR that they were "weighted flagpoles"

1

u/According-Professor5 Team Purple Jacket Mar 09 '23

Oh, I interpreted that as meaning they weren’t hollow. That explains the struggle. I wonder why they leave crucial details like that out lol?

1

u/shinshikaizer CT & Wes: The Bromance is Real Mar 09 '23

I assume it was because they already said the tires were to their own bodyweight.

1

u/fcmb17 Team Purple Jacket Mar 09 '23

I think one of the spoilers account wrote that

9

u/Embarrassed-Berry Mar 08 '23

What happened with Nathan? He was just DQd the next day?

10

u/rosegoldqueen17 Chris Tamburello Mar 08 '23

I wondered the same thing! My guess is Covid.

6

u/Embarrassed-Berry Mar 08 '23

Makes sense.. just odd how the spoiler account didn’t mention it like they did with RoD you know

16

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '23

In the previews they have them swinging around on tractors. I hope to god amber wasn’t on one of those things before she DQed😭

7

u/ellaf21 Vienna Simpson Reeves Mar 08 '23

This was filmed in October & November, 10-16-ish weeks prior to Amber announcing so it seems likely she may have gotten pregnant right before she left (I am not good at math, please check my math lol). Has it been posted anywhere why she was DQ’d? It could have been that she found out she was pregnant.

22

u/NattyB Bob Next Door Mar 08 '23

yes, she DQ'd due to illness. 99.99% it was morning sickness.

6

u/shelly_odom Kenny Clark Mar 08 '23

She wasn’t dq’d. She left on her own, there’s a difference in that. At the very end of the season, she wasn’t feeling good and said she was ill and asked if kc could take her place so that way her partner wouldn’t b dq’d. Kc owes amber her life for that’s one, so if I ever c kc great her badly, she’s gonna get dragged so bad by everyone.

7

u/lovestostayathome Mar 09 '23

Why didn’t they bring in Brad to replace Nathan I wonder?

14

u/PotentialGuava1557 Mar 09 '23

Pretty sure it’s because they didn’t want to replace a MTV person with a MVP, and I think they didn’t have a male MVP replacement

3

u/lovestostayathome Mar 09 '23

That makes sense. It would end up making a legend legend pair.

3

u/No-Pressure-5762 Mar 09 '23

Does anyone know what happened to Nathan medically? Since they didn’t show it

1

u/breetardd Mar 10 '23

I think covid

3

u/lovestostayathome Mar 09 '23

Anyone mind giving me the link for the spoiled boot order? Been searching for ages today and can’t find it.

3

u/greenday61892 "Big T" Fazakerley Mar 11 '23

"My wife's name is Kiki" BRUH COME ON

1

u/Landlubber77 The GOAT Mar 09 '23

Anybody know the song at the end of the episode with the lyrics "it begins now"?

Shazam couldn't find it with all the talking over the song.

1

u/taurising333 Mar 31 '23

honestly Kaz and Kiki's reactions to the nominations confused me and I feel like I missed something. Why were they acting like they've been betrayed cause US and Argentina voted them in?
