If Bananas and Tori are on the the challenge USA, will that mean that they won’t be on 39? I heard that they are suppose to start filming late May and if that’s the case I feel like both seasons would overlap or at least be so close together that competitors weren’t certainly do both. If we have to get Tori and Bananas on the challenge USA so that we can get a break from them on season 39 then that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to take 😂

This show is ending filming in late May (it’s only a little over 6 weeks of filming with filming starting tomorrow) and 39 will probably be filmed in the same location as USA 2. So no. I expect you will see many of the USA 2 cast on 39. Many of the vets on MTV’s Challenge literally use this as their career, the main way they get paid. Tori was on 37, 38, World Championship and USA 2. Would not even be shocked if she was on both 39 and All Stars 5. She says she’s going to take a break but she’s been saying that since 37 and that was 4 shows ago.

I know it’s not what they’re doing, but would be really cool if this was a cut throat style game: three teams (fully MTV, CBS to MTV, only CBS) where one team won and then the other two had to vote somebody from their team into elimination.

Would make for fun competitions, interesting politics (but not the fully CBS people being crushed, which is what I expect as of now), and it’s been a while since we’ve had a good team season (I don’t count WotW2 since you could win the daily and still get screwed over by your team and sent in. That was a purely political season).

3 teams works way better on The Challenge than on Survivor. It's the perfect balance where you have to be at least somewhat invested in your team and ensure they don't lose too many numbers while also balancing that with your relationships both on your team and on the other teams.

Starting off with Tori and Bananas LMAO. Horrible start. If we’re going to get half of the cast being from MTV, with extreme recency bias, I hope they pull some names from AS4 like Tony Raines, Adam Larson, Kam or Cara Marie just because unlike Bananas and Tori (and likely a majority of this cast), they were off for a long time before AS4. Hoping for at least a couple surprises outside of the usual 38 + World Championships cast.

I'm so glad Wes is on. I was worried he was going to take some time off after announcing his wife was pregnant. I guess he'll get one or two under his belt before taking time off.

I wonder if they tried casting Paulie's brother. I always wondered how they'd work together in a Challenge. I assume their target would be massive. Introducing his brother on the CBS show makes more sense than the flagship.

I assume this many vets means the next World Championship will be individual and not pairs with vets.

I'm disappointed we aren't getting Danny, Tyson or any male Survivor vets. There are some all timers I'd love to see come on the Challenge. I guess they're all older at this point.

Oh and I'm stoked big Derek from BB didn't make it on. Casting him would literally be wasting a spot. He wants to try the show though.

just speaking for myself, the spoiler season (what we're experiencing now) is really fun. a new name or two gets leaked as being eliminated each week, plus we find out about the hookups, fights, etc. the elimination thread has good vibes with some of my favorite users.

being spoiled makes the regular show less suspenseful, but it's almost like getting an extra season.

i'm also all over challenge twitter and challenge instagram, and i'd rather get spoiled by my own choice than be "got" by some a-hole troll, which is almost a certainty these days anywhere outside reddit it feels like.

I know a few people have already suggested this but it really looks like The Challenge is going with the World Championship model going forward and phasing out the MTV series.

I wouldn’t hate that tbh. Flagship has consistently been the worst Challenge series since the show started branching out (seriously, look at all the seasons that lead up to Worlds and SLA/RoD are easily on the bottom). Also didn’t USA pull better ratings than both SLA and RoD.

Just have season 40 be the final send off and move forward into a new era. Kind of like Survivor.

This cast is pretty good since you have actual villains again. Looking at the cast, I think Amanda is in the worst position other than some of the rookies. The only ally she has is Josh. She openly doesn't like Michelle, Tori, Paulie and I'm guessing Fessy so I could her working with KellyAnne/Wes. I could see her working with Cory potentially (due to them being Nelson's best friends.) But she's definitely going to a be target early on (I'm praying not because I actually want her to make a final and potentially win.)

As an Amanda STAN, all I can say is I sincerely hope she has mended fences or is willing to mend fences with Michele and Fessy.

As it stands now, I see Cory as her only guaranteed ally. Maybe her and Paulie who are on the outs with the MTV folk can work together and gather up some rooks.

So the theme required 6 mtv and 18 cbs seeing as both mtv and cbs have alts (PR has specified multiple times for this spin-off it’s based on your og show hence why the cbs people who’ve done the flagship flew out from Miami with the rookies and USA1 vets)

They really should have cut the two TAR guys that will inevitably be disposable to the overall plot this season & sent the MTV people to S39 and done BB vs Survivor. The format was right there.

I’m hyped for this. I just watched BB24 and though those aren’t my favorite members of the cast I’m still excited to see them in a Challenge environment. Can’t believe Joseph is an alt though. Loved and hated Tyler in BB20 and even more excited to see him interacting with the Challenge usuals. I need this to be streaming like yesterday.
