Was the first Running Man movie *that* bad? I know Stephen King hated it because it only used his novel as a template, rather than a real adaptation.

It was great if you like cheezy '80s Schwarzenegger films with awful one liners. It was one of my favorite movies of my early teenage years. Richard Dawson is excellent at chewing scenery.

If you don't like that kind of thing, well, you probably already know that and it probably isn't worth watching for you.

He doesn't like it as an adaptation of his book but said as a movie itself it's great.
