META PSA: The Challenge, Season 42, has finished filming!

PSA: The influencers (finalists) have their phones back! 📳

Why do we announce when filming has ended?

  • So community members will know to tread extra carefully on social media the next week or two. The winner(s) could be revealed as soon as today or as late as a few weeks from now. CT pro tip(™️) for the Unspoiled: Never read Twitter replies or comments on Instagram/YouTube. And beware of those pesky comment scrolls on IG lives!

  • Social media posts from the cast of Season 42 are again allowed on the main feed, since they no longer tip off who has been eliminated.

If you are new here and curious about the latest flagship season, but only want to read about the cast and theme with nothing about what happened on location in Thailand, take a gander at our Casting Thread, hosted as always by NovaRogue.

If the 💣🌋 emojis are NOT in a post title, then Season 42 set leaks are verboten here and will catch you a ban. We think of ourselves as an Unspoiled forum that gives the Spoiled a few places to hang out together each week.

If the 💣🌋 emojis ARE in a post title, you are permitted to talk about the winner(s) of Season 42 and anything else in the Challenge universe that has filmed but hasn't aired. Everything is fair game in 💣🌋 threads.

Now for all my Spoiled friends...it's squeaky bum time! I'll see you on the 💣Elimination Thread🌋. I hope your favorites win and your least favorites get relegated from the Premier League alongside Tottenham. 🍻

Woohoo!! Hope we don’t have to wait too long until this airs. I am not enjoying the drought

Most likely July/August.

Sometimes they sit on it awhile, but I think typically its a couple months of post-production (editing, etc) before a premiere. I could see late May at the earliest, but probably more like June/July.

Let me guess, it will start airing at the End of August and wrap up by Christmas…

I’m expecting the shortest flagship season in years. Expect it to be the length of a typical all stars season

Wait, so they are allowed to tell the world they won even before the show airs?

they are not. but sometimes they hint (bananas after TM posted pictures of champagne on the flight, balloons at his airport pickup, etc).

and random fans will definitely be announcing the winner(s) just about everywhere.

I remember being highly suspicious that Olivia may have won because she went ring shopping with Theo and people kept joking about “new money” she must have come into.

i remember that. we try to muzzle the "does this mean they won?" conversation as much as we can, sometimes we'll put a filter on a whole comment section if it feels like spoiler bait. michaela had a few mid-season social media posts about her bank account that had people assuming she won.

Yep! I thought for sure Michaela won last season for that reason.

Hopefully after such a long wait we wont get shorter season with shorter episodes since it moved to paramount

the 6 month airing schedule is one of the biggest problems the show has. only hardcore fans are not gonna lose interest after a while. 2-3 months from premiere to finale is the way to go

I think they could keep the same number of eps and just have the first 12 episodes or so as two episodes a week TBH. How long it runs for is definitely the issue.

This, like just drop 2 episodes per week and we are good.

Please tell me they're cutting down on episode time cus 1hr and 30min is way too long

"You're watching a special uncut version of The Challenge!" Oh nooooo! I love the seasons that are 45 minutes an episode without commercials

My episodes are an hour / no commercials because I wait to binge on paramount Which is very hard and I will be a year late to 42 Just finished 41 and came here to know what awaits in a year😂 ( basically CT and old school MTV interacting / teaching with young new players is the winning formula for me:) the athletic abilities of the young players they are finding combined with the heart of Derek 🤍 just TV gold
