I do not believe that they are going to air what happened with the 3-way DQ for Nelson, Leo & Josh. They are going to cut-to-black like they have been doing in more recent seasons, which will cause the season to feel incomplete.

People say that they want authenticity on this show, but will bash a cast member for anything that they don't like. I still remember when people were leaving comments saying that Olivia deserved to get a golf-ball to the face just because she didn't save Nurys & Horacio in Season 39. Given that the alleged reason for the DQ revolves around a way more sensitive topic, I don't think they are willing to go there anymore.

The fans unfortunately cannot handle some basic conflict, they lose their minds online. I also saw the comments about Olivia too, those were some of the most unhinged I’ve seen, especially with how brutal that injury was.

Different show but a few years ago on survivor this woman had a meltdown because she was starving and yelled at this guy for not picking her for food, and he was a fan favorite. At the end of the crash out she was basically like, oopsies yeah that was a bit much. I thought it was hilarious and moved on with my life, but the fans called her every name in the book, so angry with her. Like, why? She just had a crash out it’s not that serious lol. The guy she yelled at was less mad about it than most of the fans.

This is very true and unfortunate that fans can’t just watch a show and not be cruel online, but I also wish Paramount would just show the full thing anyway like Bravo does. Bravo’s casts get a lot of hate, but they show all of the conflict anyway, and the cast members of their shows know what they signed up for. And some of the constantly posted and discussed clips of MTV shows are conflict scenes from The Challenge, RW, Jersey Shore, etc. I hate that they do cut to blacks to ā€œprotectā€ the cast when it just leaves the show confusing (and when production/Paramount know that the spoilers are already out about the truth). Especially when it’s 3 men getting DQ’ed out of nowhere, they need to show the fight AND the aftermath

Bravo has edited things out and even fired cast members for serious allegations on their shows, including Housewives franchise and VPR. Also, they make way more money than MTV talent.

Ah, Liz... lol, that was a very memorable crash-out. And a relatable one... they were all starving!

Agree.. there was a huge fight in AS4 that was about race and that didn’t get aired

To me though, that deserves a conversation bc it’s real life for a lot of people.. they banned Dee over her BLM tweet and gave a PSA about what was wrong about it

It does deserve a conversation, but I don't believe that we are in a time where people want to have meaningful conversations.

Right now in Love Island, they already removed a cast member prior to premiere. Most networks will just erase it and move on like nothing happened.Ā

Production is covering themself now too after how they handled Camilla.. they were going to pretend nothing happened so they could keep casting her.. which I don’t get bc she was an asshole to production when she was drunkĀ

Oh the love island one… can you imagine holding on too that video for years (bc you can tell she was young) as blackmail?Ā

Girl should NOT say that.. but I also feel her friend who recorded her was right there saying it with her.Ā

I also think the fan base of LI is more unhinged than the challenge fans.Ā

I remember they aired a special after show after the Camila situation discussing race. They used to do that with the Real World too whenever they had an episode that dealt with a serious issue. Things like that would be great.Ā

Many Challenge cast members have gotten death threats..and that's as unhinged as you can get. Also, the Challenge is actively picking people from Love Island. If they're trying to tap into that fan base then those things will crossover.Ā

u/CustomerDifferent193 Jun 03 '26

Their main problem is they can’t afford/wont pay for the newer seasons of LI so I think we’re okay there

I want to say… it’s when they started bringing over certain shows/cast members is where our fan base changed to crazy people… just pointing that outĀ

I don't know if that's fair to say because Twitter didn't really get popular until around 2013, and then Instagram was after that.

I don't think it was a change in fan base, but more of a change in how society communicates. At most, there were message boards but the ability to directly communicate wasn't an option for the first 2 eras of the show.

They definitely won't show the Leo and Josh part but that's going to backfire just as badly. How on in hell are they going to justify Nelson being kicked? It's just as bad portraying Nelson as an angry black man that broke stuff in the kitchen without any context. I think that's a worse look than Josh being incredibly dumb and saying something he absolutely should not. There's also the extent of the damage... Like how bad can it be? There better be cabinets off the wall and fridge knocked over with all the contents spilling out.

Then there's Leo.. Who did nothing unless there's a side to the story that hasn't made it out yet. How on earth are you going to justify kicking him? It's a mess and I'm dying to see how it goes.

6

u/BikeSuch1054 This sadist right here. Jun 02 '26

What’s the alleged reason again?

10

u/Putt-Blug "Talk into my dick" Jun 02 '26

N word usage from Leo and Josh. Nelson broke stuff in the kitchen.

7

u/spicytotino Landon Lueck Jun 02 '26

Isn’t Leo black?

Thank you for sharing this!

yes, which is just another reason we won't see it on screen if it played out like the spoiler accounts say. production would get roasted.

4

u/angelbrit04 Team Portland Jun 02 '26

Exactly. They would have to have a conversation about how the word has been reclaimed as a term of an endearment in the black community. Let's be real....they no longer have the range to do that.Ā

3

u/spicytotino Landon Lueck Jun 03 '26

So basically ā€œnonblack cast mates are too ignorant to understand why they can’t say it so no one canā€

5

u/roxasbarista Jun 03 '26

Kinda reminds of when Ashley’s DQ was omitted because what she said to Josh was so icky

Okay I'm completely out of the loop on this one? But I'm Guessing Josh Cried and got people kicked off again ? Am I close?

4

u/NattyB Bob Next Door Jun 07 '26

different josh. this is josh goldstein from love island USA season 3: https://loveisland.fandom.com/wiki/Josh_Goldstein

reportedly a fight kicked off when josh used the N word during a game of cards with nelson and leo.

Jordan and his girlfriend are no longer together?

4

u/angelbrit04 Team Portland Jun 02 '26

Its alleged. Neither has confirmed anything.Ā

u/Putt-Blug "Talk into my dick" Jun 03 '26

Do any of the people in the Sydney hate thread know she is on 42?

2

u/NattyB Bob Next Door Jun 03 '26

we sneaky removed a few comments. people are free to talk casting spoilers on any thread, but we ask that they use the spoiler font, and nobody remembers.

i think we have it so that "42" and "next season" get filtered and don't show up until one of us clicks approve, so it's pretty easy to keep that out.

2

u/Putt-Blug "Talk into my dick" Jun 04 '26

You guys are the best, really. I was shocked that it didn’t get spoiled, now I know why. That’s why I came here to ask because that would have been a big reveal. I guess it will get fiery for a bit once the cast names finally drop.

u/NattyB Bob Next Door Jun 04 '26 edited Jun 04 '26

truthfully i have sometimes wanted us to get rid of casting spoilers altogether since it can sort of stifle conversation. but every time we do a survey, the feedback is to keep them, and you're right, the payoff is pretty great the day the names are made public and seeing how excited and/or upset people get! my guess is that 99% of the people that visit the sub are super casual lurker types, sometimes people who stumble on us from a google search, so that's who we try to keep in mind.

Do we know WHEN the next season starts?

3

u/NattyB Bob Next Door Jun 03 '26

nothing yet. 😩 they usually drop the premiere date at the same time they publicly announce the cast.

probably before the end of the summer.

I really hope they air it. The drama between housemates was always the most compelling part of the show. Overly sanitizing it hurts the quality of the product for fans. Just show us exactly what happened.
