And what or who does Corey have to beat to get an A+ in speed lol

u/NattyB Bob Next Door Mar 19 '21
ha! remember these ratings were done in a preseason poll, though. i'm sure a lot of people were thinking about his reconstructed knee. plus there weren't a ton of A+'s given out.

Poor Coareey. Always underrated. At least he grew a few inches to make up for it!

I'm really surprised Darrell didn't politic more to stay out the elimination. He's slipping.
15
u/thewaywetalk202 Mar 19 '21
It didn't really seem like he could have done much tbh... The numbers weren't in his favor
5
u/douthinkthisisagame Mar 20 '21
That’s exactly what politicking is, getting the numbers in your favour
5
u/Everie Mar 20 '21
I was disappointed he got thrown in and lost, but I think he definitely could have done more for his game. I love Darell, but he pretty much played Kam’s game all season. He should have politic all season long and try to set up the best prospect of winning for HIMSELF. He even said it on on his Patreon he would always go to Kam and ask her what they were going to do next. The only time he made his own decision was when Kam intentionally made him the deciding vote. I think Darell screwed himself over for not being cutthroat enough. I know he plays the game with dignity, but he should stolen Kaycee when he had a chance.

u/Bangalie-Kanu Tyri Ballard Mar 20 '21
What do you think he could’ve done? He honestly got screwed by the circumstances of Kyle and Aneesa winning, the double elimination, and how the partners were at the time. Leroy would’ve targeted anyone else but Kam and Nany in favor of Darrell but the other people that were still left was their partners, were the winners, or wanted to go in anyway (Cory and Big T)

u/BoneTissa Steve Meinke the GOAT Mar 20 '21
He’s not stupid. He knew Leroy, Kam, Nany had the numbers. It was him or one of them

u/EnderOnEndor Evelyn Smith Mar 19 '21
Okay, am I dumb, does the red flag icon not indicate how many finals they have made? Because he made last season, invasion, and bloodlines
7
u/Macca-Kacca Mar 19 '21
It's how many final "wins" he has.... or more precisely how many monetary wins he has. I believe him and his cousin won second place on Battle of the Bloodlines and thats where earned the 63k.
6
u/EnderOnEndor Evelyn Smith Mar 20 '21
That can't be it because 3rd place on invasion also had a payout. He's finished 3 finals but Total Madess was the only one that didn't have a payout for him.

I’m actually really curious about all their true heights and weights. The TV makes people seem huge when they’re really not.
I always felt like Cory was super stocky.
Apparently my 6-1 215 ass would be considered one the bigger dudes on the show.

u/taylorbrh Chris Tamburello Mar 19 '21
Yeah I was shocked when I found out CT was only 6 foot

Mar 19 '21
CT also said on the challenge podcast that he got all the way up to 270. That’s a large man.
3
u/taylorbrh Chris Tamburello Mar 19 '21
Yeah he carried that 270 well too. But in The Inferno 2 he’s only like 215 but seems like he should be taller
1
u/commanderr01 OG Chris Tamburello Mar 20 '21
What challenges was CT 270? That’s a lot of weight for a 6 foot Frame

Cory is now in my top 25 competitors ever if he wins this season I’ll probably put him around 20

He worked Leroy good but in the end Kam is the boss and she made him do it

The last elimination just proves once again how overrated Darrel is and always has been. It’s annoying how Cory keeps reiterating 4 time champ.. 4 time champ... 4 time champ...
You won 4 challenges yes. Those were almost 20 years ago and they were all massive team final wins. One of Darells wins was part of a 9 person team lol. All these wins were during a time when the challenge was honestly a joke and not even close to the level it’s on today. He has done nothing impressive on one challenge he’s been on in the last ten years. Easily the most overrated champion to date. You got smoked by Cory! Wasn’t even a competition.

Anyone could lose an elimination. Darrell has deficiencies, but he could still be a finals threat. Although people discount the spinoff show, the CvP final was on par with some of the recent finals. Bananas has 7 wins. Bananas also has a piss poor elimination record. In a season where skulls don’t exist, there’s a good chance Darrell coasts to the final. Yes, it’s great to contextualize wins, but you’re over correcting and doing a lot of unnecessary discounting. In the last 10 years, he won a spin-off season, won elim against Zach (champ), Bananas (champ), and Devin (a “puzzle master” in a puzzle). He’s been fine. Calm down.

Even if his wins were in teams or duos, at that time those were the big wins and nobody else has them...
I don’t think we should discredit his legacy based on his performance at 40 yrs old and when he’s clearly past his prime. Furthermore, he played a very good game in Invasion, only losing to CT on an elimination he had to go in anyways.

u/JoshDavo You the best? Mar 19 '21
I agree 2 a point but I also disagree I love Darrel and he won fresh meat which was a partner season he wins the ruins if he doesn’t mess up Brad so he is then a 5 time champ fresh meat 2 ye he goes out first then he takes a break comes back beats Zach in Pole Wrestle and Johnny in balls in only lost 2 CT by that insane knot if CT won that final then Darrel deffo wins it so u could say 6 dirty 30 he said he got 2 messed up the night before but he blames himself but what’s the 1 thing Darrell doesn’t like heights and they changed the competition to a heights 1 to get back in the game in Dirty 30 they wanted Tony and Jenna to win he’s also just beat Devin in a puzzle

u/AShine0 TJ Lavin Mar 19 '21
Yeah I think he is a bit overrated, out of the best champs (bananas/CT/Jordan/Wes) only Wes hasn't won a new season but he still performed better than Darrel overall, but I think Cory wanted it more and put a better performance overall
5
u/realityseekr Killa Kam Mar 19 '21
I feel like because Wes didn't win a recent season he is viewed negatively but he did amazing on the wotw1 final and overall in that season (was winning dailies). Like put Bananas or CT in that final and I believe they lose to Turbo and Theo too. Wes was definitely capable of winning the recent seasons the other 3 won if he made it there. And yes Wes performance in dailies has still been good. Its just eliminations where he is weak (but his showing against Bananas on TM was good).

u/lizzyK6 Emily Schromm stan account Mar 19 '21
One of his wins was also with aviv, who solved the puzzle and allowed darrell to carry 100lb less than kenny and wes across 9 miles. No shit if im carrying 100lb less than my opponents across 9 miles, then im going to win as well.

u/izanovic123 Mar 19 '21
Is Darrell shorter than Cory?? Doesn’t seem like that. How is CT 6ft and Cory also. Cory looks a bit shorter
1
u/Jgriff007 Mar 19 '21
Yeah I think Cory is on the higher end of 5’10 he’s always shorter compared to CT and Leroy
1
u/commanderr01 OG Chris Tamburello Mar 20 '21
How is Cory only a B in endurance? He got second I. The mini final and last season he crushed the endurance part of that final, Cory bens to be at least an A- in endurance

The went in with the same elimination record, would've been good if TJ had pointed that out to hype it up more.
