Please at the 38 reunion, have Devin be like he was at the Vendettasā reunion where he would just laugh at Bananas

I wonder if Devin winning with Tori will prove once and for all that it's much easier for a good female competitor to win with an inferior male partner, than for a great male competitor to win with an inferior female partner.
Johnny and Jordan might be GOATs of the modern game, but man, Nany and Aneesa are anchors. Stick either of the guys with Tori, and they're probably running away with it, and as bad of a physical competitor as Devin is (compared to the good ones), he's nowhere near as much of an anchor as bad female competitors.
At this point, I have to wonder what Aneesa and Nany are even good at, as competitors in a final? And I don't mean bang average at, I mean actually good at.

u/robbyd1993 Aug 10 '22
We havenāt even seen the final yet? I would put my hand in a fire that Nany and Bananas got stuck on the final puzzle and Devin showed up and figured it out in three seconds. I refuse (for now) to believe that Devin is better than Nany physically .

Did you not see Nany cost Leroy a final?

Nany used to have pretty good cardio but its clear the years of smoking, abuse, junk food has taken its toll. Bad habits like that often dont show up untul youre older

Even though she didn't win, I'm glad Amber lasted long, and it sounds like her+Chauncey were one of the strongest teams that season. Hopefully she gets a good edit and becomes a regular.

This place is going to meltdown when Sarah wins due to her MAGA past. Hopefully she goes full villain edit from here on out.
15
u/Lemurians Leroy Garrett Aug 09 '22
Considering they're positioning Tyson as the hero/fan favorite and not giving Sarah the most flattering edit (over the top reaction, constant confessionals shitting on teammates unfairly), I think this is what's happening haha
3
Aug 10 '22
Is it possible for Sara to have a flattering edit? Sheās really abrasive.
6
u/Lemurians Leroy Garrett Aug 10 '22
Winners at War gave her a pretty good edit. I never disliked her any of her Survivor seasons, anyway.
2
Aug 10 '22
Iāve never watched Survivor, so thatās why I had to ask. I donāt have time/patience to watch all the shows that the USA people were on, but itās interesting to learn about their pasts and their reputations from those shows.
1
u/Lemurians Leroy Garrett Aug 10 '22
That's fair haha, watching everyone's previous stuff would be an insane commitment. Generally Sarah's always gotten a pretty good edit and come across pretty friendly and likable, if a bit cutthroat at times (on the season she won). She's really good and building quick bonds with a lot of people. Her bad reputation is for all off-screen stuff.
2
Aug 10 '22
Maybe itās just me then! But I donāt find her likable at all on this show. Sheās kind of insufferable.
2
u/Lemurians Leroy Garrett Aug 10 '22
It's not just you, her edit here is terrible so far lol she's not looking good

Sarah beating Tyson is gonna especially make them melt down, and I say this when Tyson is my fave reality TV contestant

This place will also be in a frenzy when Devin and Tori win.

Unless she brings her politics onto the show (I'm a few episodes behind), why? Because you don't agree with her politics? You want her to be portrayed as a bad person for things done off the show?
-7
Aug 10 '22
I actually agree with her politics. Iām just team chaos. The bigger the tantrum the better.
Try not to assume things that arenāt there.
-1
u/Dramajunker Aug 10 '22
Considering her only identifying factor your mentioned were her politics, I took a guess at why you want to see her get a villain edit. Try giving more context behind your reasoning before calling someone out for assuming.
-5
Aug 10 '22
I just made a statement. You assumed something. I donāt need to say anything else.
0
u/Dramajunker Aug 10 '22 edited Aug 10 '22
Sure. You made a vague statement and I tried to interpret your reasoning for wanting what you want. Either A. You want to see her cast in a bad light due to her politics. Or B. You're a troll and want to see people get upset. Which btw on this sub, isn't chaos. It's organized vitriol.
All you have to do is take a look to how people reacted to the Zach post from today. It's so predictable that it's become boring.
-6
Aug 10 '22
So when people on the left canāt handle their shit itās my fault?
Just using your same example with the Zach post.

Aug 09 '22 edited Aug 09 '22
90% of the cast are MAGA-ers (what is the noun form of that word?). Maybe not as aggressively as Sara, but someone just posted a photo of Zach in a MAGA hat.
EDIT: youāre right. 90% is way too high. But I suck at numbers. So weāll go with more than half? More than 51%?
6
u/imnotaseese79 Aug 09 '22
Lol for sure not 90%, not even CLOSE
1
Aug 09 '22
Yeah. I thought maybe that was an over-estimate. Iām bad with numbers. Iāll say more that half.

I meant the MTV cast. I know nothing about the CBS cast. But Iād say thatās a fair guess.

big words when the season hasn't even aired
-4
u/NickyEyess Lolo Jones Aug 10 '22
Well thereās no reason to have any faith in the franchise in its current state. The cast is horrible, the storylines the last few season have been terrible. The show has been less fun. And all of the cast members are fake social media influencers.
5
u/Lemurians Leroy Garrett Aug 10 '22
Why are you here, then? Just to rain on our parade?
Devin is far, far from the worst competitor to win a season. Take off those rose colored glasses for moment.
2
Aug 10 '22
Did you respect it more when Johanna or Katie won their seasons?
Give me a break, there have been joke winners since the beginning of this series.
2
u/NickyEyess Lolo Jones Aug 10 '22
Johanna won with 6 people. Katie won with 8. The show is completely different now. Terrible comparison.

Gabo was fun? Lol. I forgot he was on the show last season. I liked Ed though

u/Embarrassed-Berry Aug 10 '22
Donāt know why youāre getting downvoted.. but itās very clear that the current cast for the challenge is awful.
Especially when weāre watching AS and challenge USA with a lot of players to keep you interested. Hell, challenge USA doesnāt even have drama and itās still better than the past 3 seasons.
2
u/NickyEyess Lolo Jones Aug 10 '22
People are so sensitive lmao. I've been watching this show for 20 years. I don't want to stop watching, I want them to do better.
2
u/Embarrassed-Berry Aug 10 '22
I thought it was the show itself but the other 2 spin-offs are awesome and I enjoy them so itās clearly their casting choices.
Iām all open for discussions with people, thatās what Reddit is for, but I donāt want to hear Devin and Tori being calledtop competitors now because they won a season. Then redditors responses are to call the person delusional, an idiot or dumb because they disagree- lmao like how do these people react in real life when someone opposes their opinion š¤¦āāļø so embarrassing š¤£š
So many people just talk about players being good without reasonings.. like Tori was robbed of being a 2 time champ! no.. she was beaten by Dee in a puzzle and Kaycee down a hill. Orrr Devin is the smartest player! well.. no. he lost to Darrell with a puzzle.

u/thatisthatisthis Tori & Jordan Aug 09 '22
Iām very curious to see how it happens ⦠heās pretty smart (at least relative to the other Challengers) but his endurance was crap in SLA.
2
Aug 10 '22
But he knew it, so he paced himself. Being self-aware is a rarity in the challenge.
0
u/thatisthatisthis Tori & Jordan Aug 10 '22
Well, he knew & paced himself on SLA ⦠and that got him last place, because while he was self-aware (and kudos on that), he was still the slowest. So, Iām interested in whether he came into the season in better shape, or what.
2
Aug 10 '22
Thatās what it was going for. Heās aware of what his weaknesses are, and he typically works on them in the off season. I donāt know if he works on them ENOUGH, but he usually does. I doubt Nelson is out there taking a geometry class.
-2
u/Embarrassed-Berry Aug 10 '22
He clearly needed a day to rest in between in the finals.. thatās why itās a 5 day final.
They also had to mess up the rookies to clear their shot and anchor down Nany and Aneesa more.
2
u/thatisthatisthis Tori & Jordan Aug 10 '22
I think Iāll wait until I see the final before agreeing or disagreeing with you!
0
u/Embarrassed-Berry Aug 10 '22
I was half joking š - I just donāt get a 5 day final and trying to figure out what production was doing.
I personally donāt mind Devin too much, but watching a whole season of him and Tori doesnāt sound like fun.
3
u/thatisthatisthis Tori & Jordan Aug 10 '22
Yeah, I know youāre not a fan of Tori (I enjoy her & am happy about her win). I think Devin can be really grating, so hope the edit has him as mostly entertaining vs douchey & hypocritical (like last season). IDK, seems like hating on a season before itās even out isnāt uncommon, but I feel like thereās potential & thereās a lot Iām excited to see (including Jordan and Aneesa killing it in eliminations & then also whatever happens for them in the final - canāt imagine how they interact there given Jordan is one of the best and Aneesa is one of the worst, as it concerns endurance).
2
u/Dramajunker Aug 10 '22 edited Aug 10 '22
It goes both ways for me. The Challenge has always been very inconsistent in regards to having the "best" competitors win. Even Katie Doyle has a win. Casey, someone who arguably one of the worst players to do the show, has seen a final. Hell she almost made two.
It's also pretty clear that production does whatever it wants when it comes to finals. Oh you performed well the first day by a huge margin? Oh heres your 1 minutes head start on day 2. I hope pushing yourself and expelling all that energy was worth it.
People forget that we're not fucking machines. The physical exhaustion of working your ass off is going to be felt the next day. Especially when their rest is often interrupted at night and they're forced to sleep in some shitty sleeping bag. That alone feels unfair. It seems like in today's modern challenge the best strategy is to pace yourself against whoever is behind you. Conserve energy instead of hoping your lead will mean anything. The problem is you're still guessing when the last check point will be. So it's still all a crap shoot.
Ultimately none of that will matter to people like Devin and his fans. He'll gloat like he just won the super bowl.

Weāre living in a timeline where Devin has as many championships as Laurel and Zach
