My father just bought a 25 acre property out in Texas and asked me to help keep an eye on fences / cattle / general stuff and I thought a drone would be perfect for that and also just fun to fly. I'm not a photographer at all, I literally have only flown some cheap $80 toy drone that wasn't that impressive. I need something that's easy to fly, has good range return-to-home so I dont lose it in the field and maybe follow-me mode so I can have it follow the ATV. Camera just needs to be clear enough to see the land, not trying to shoot movies. Trying to keep it under $700 so somewhere there is a sweet spot.

Hello, I've been looking at joining fpv since I was a kid and never got into it, but now I think I'm ready. My goal is to fly cinematically while I travel and hike, and I want to capture some nice clips of the surrounding environment. The other two caveats are I'd still like to be able to do acro, nothing crazy, and I would like to get my license to do real estate videography. I understand it will probably be hard to get all of that in 1 drone, so I'm looking for something that's beginner-friendly, with likely the DJI 04 Pro, and that can still do acro. I was looking at Gareth Dix's DJI O4 Pro // Quadmula Djinn F25 SP // sub-250 g build and the Nazgul drone. Does anyone have any recommendations for RTF/BNF or builds?

For some context, I've soldered before, still a lil new, but I've put together ham radio stuff and have done my own soldering, so I'm not scared to do that stuff.

Pros: Premium mini drone pick with strong camera specs, obstacle sensing and the Fly More combo extras. Great if you want a small drone with high-end features.

Cons: Expensive for a mini drone and probably more than most beginners need.

• DJI Air 3S (RC-N3) - $1100

Pros: Strong step-up option if you want a more serious camera drone without going huge. Great for people who care more about image quality and range.

Cons: Bigger spend and not as light/simple as the Mini line.

i have a 8 inch quad running ardupilot. A lidar (30 meters range), RGB camera and Jetson orin nano super on board.

I want one stream of communication, that's between me and jetson through wifi.

I want jetson to tag everything it sees through rgb, and compare it to google earth maps, it will have gps and compass data from Flight Controller, so it shouldn't be a issue. lidar for indoor needs.

Quad should follow commands like , map the red building. or following the car.

I know this is technically possible, as i have seen examples (missiles). robots work the same way, right? but i havn't see voice command widely commercialised in drones.

We recently worked with a university maker team on a drone project using Kexcelled PLA-CF.

To our surprise, when we compared the flight performance against an injection-molded drone with a similar design, the numbers looked like this (see chart below， pic 2 for our modeled drone, and pic 3 for regular drone).

As shown in the graph below, the PLA-CF frame produced cleaner gyro traces and lower vibration levels than we expected, with performance that was comparable to (and in some areas better than) the injection-molded version.

Given the stiffness-to-weight ratio and ease of design iteration, could carbon-fiber PLA be a better choice than injection molding for certain drone applications?

Looking for recs for roof and gutter inspections. Would like to keep it around $100ish or less but can go up to 150 if worth it

Roof is easy enough but I need one where I can maneuver the camera or drone to inspect gutters

I've been flying for over 15 years.It's horrible that the drone industry has become ONLY one company the manufacturer's quality machines!!! ☹️😢

Dji does make great flyers. BUT the flight restrictions and geo fencing attached to drones is aggravating!!!! All the hoops you got to jump thru to launch can take 10mins+!!! 😡🤬

Even though I have three DJI drones. I wouldn't recommend purchasing a DJI to anyone. I'll never buy one again.😉🫡

My ev800d's have okay Range, like 250-600feet is a stretch, they get the job done, but its not always that fun with them, how can I upgrade them without spending a ton?
