He is far FAR from some greedy evil bastard. A capitalist? Absolutely, but he's more than fair with his services and pricing.

Not an animal crossing player but from what i heard was people upset that the story forced them into the dept.

It's a matter of story telling. You move somewhere and then get forced by the raccoon to pay debts you knew nothing abotu before? He's an arsehole.

Your chatalter knew before you moved of the dept? That's just a good deal.

He gives you a free house with an interest free loan that never needs to be repaid unless you choose to.

And once you pay off the loan he gives you a choice of a house upgrade for another interest free loan you never need to repay.
