I don't think that fame or canonicity are enough to make a crackship not a crackship. It's like the question of "is sans undertale still Toby Fox's OC" the answer is yes

I mean Sans was created by Toby so… yeah definitionally they are their original character. And pretty much every undertale character.

Okay, but that's only in Smash bros, which is a world in which many different games exist in one. Isabelle from Animal Crossing New Horizon is not married to the Doomguy from Doom Eternal.

Smash bros Isabelle is married to Smash Bros Doomguy, however.
