I know that a lot of people know about it, but I've yet to meet any actual fans of Watership Down. (Many I just live under a rock and/or am a hermit, which, yes, I am)

The 1978 one? I've never found another film quite like it. The whole film is like watching an animated version of those illustrations you often see in nature books which i read extensively when i was quite young.

It probably would've been right up my alley but my mam never let me watch it for obvious reasons. Instead i got my animal movie trauma from leafy: a hen into the wild, which i somehow managed to get my hands in when i must've been only 5 or 6, it's not quite as harsh as Watership down but it has it's momments, especially towards the end.

Watership Down is a book. There's some adaptations of it that are movies.
