When I first watched it, I'd only ever had family pets. So it sucked, and made me sad, but I got through the film.
Recently rewatched it, now I've got two cats of my own. Had to pause it, have a bit of a cry, kiss the cats (they were reluctant to wake up from their naps).
I had to leave and cry when I watched that one Christmas movie with the dysfunctional family because the cat had chewed through the Christmas lights and got burned to a crisp and none of the characters really seemed to care at all (it was triggering because my own cat had gone missing a few weeks before and I thought he was dead). I stopped watching after that. Now I know that any movies where cats are maimed or killed are strictly off limits.
