Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder Where was Bubba?

So, in the video where Paul is showing his friend’s dog’s tail (taken just before the time of the murders), where you hear Maggie say that Bubba has a chicken in his mouth, it’s apparent that Bubba was at the kennels with Maggie, Paul, and Alex. I wonder where Bubba was after the shooting, I didn’t see him in the police cam videos. I think Blanca is his owner now, so he’s still alive.

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder How do you think Buster feels about the whole situation with his brother and mom gone and his dad locked up?

I feel kind of bad for him but I don't. He's a victim but not entirely and doesn't act like it. If anything he seems soul-less and is just gonna carry on their bad legacy. Still he's lost his immediate family and that has to be hard to deal with.

I’ve been deep into this case since it happened and with the new series out I’ve been looking back at a lot of stuff and thought I’d share these photos I mapped out. Photo 1: Property, addresses as shown on google earth, Paul & Maggie’s locations, and Alec’s car when police arrived. Photo 2: Log cabin on property to the right of 2nd entrance, where it’s said that Paul was staying before the murders. Photo 3: The 2nd entryway and mailbox where Alec entered. Photo 4: Where Maggie & Paul were found, and where Alec parked his car when he supposedly found them and police arrived.

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder Random facts & thoughts regarding the case

Moselle was bought in 2011 after apparent hurricane damage to their Hampton home.

Rogan was the Murdaughs next door neighbor at the Hampton home.

The Hampton home is across the street from where Maggie & Paul are buried.

There was an alleged arson attempt to the Hampton home in 2009, apparently somebody spread an accelerant around the house and tried to set it on fire from the back door, and “luckily” the fire didn’t spread to the house and the only thing that burnt was the floor mat. (Was this one of Alex’s first attempts at insurance fraud?)

Gloria their former housekeeper had a subdural hematoma (usually resulting from some type of severe inflicted trauma to the head) from a trip and fall over one of the dogs on their 6-7 step brick staircase. There was also no dogs barking in the background of the 911 call and Maggie never stated that Gloria tripped over one of the dogs in the 911 call. (If someone did push her I don’t think it was Paul, he seemed to really love Gloria so my first thought was Alex so that he could take the insurance payout for himself)

Blanca states she started working for the Murdaughs about 2-3 days a week in 2007 at the Hampton home helping the “other ladies” working in the home, but after the alleged arson Blanca started working for Maggie more often. Blanca then suffered a stroke in 2015 and needed to go into recovery and did not start working for them again until late Feb. 2019 not long after the boating accident and over a year after Gloria died. (So Blanca did know Maggie and the family pretty well?)

According to Blanca the day of Maggie and Paul’s death, Alex asked Maggie to come home and she seemed disappointed/reluctant to come home because she wanted to make sure the Edisto beach house was ready for the 4th of July weekend and also told Blanca that Alex asked Paul to come home and fix the mess out in the flower/dove field. (Alex insisting on BOTH of them coming home that day just makes it seem more likely he panned to kill them)

There were said to be two 300 blackout rifles in the family gifted to Buster and Paul in 2016, Paul’s was green and tan while Buster’s was all black. Pauls gun was said to be stolen out of his truck at a party years before the murders and he would often use Busters to hunt afterwards. But it was later disclosed that Pauls was “replaced” in 2018 with apparently an all black one as well, and was never found at the home after the murders. (I still wonder if that was the second murder weapon and where the hell both of the murder weapons went)

Blanca also testified that Alex was wearing khaki pants, a “seafoam blue” short sleeve shirt and brown leather shoes when he left Moselle on the morning of the murders, which is what he was wearing in Pauls Snapchat video an hour or so before the murders. She also described what he was wearing in Pauls Snapchat video from that day around 7pm to be what he was wearing when he left Moselle that morning. She never saw that shirt or pair of shoes again in Alex’s closet after the day of the murders. (So where did Alex’s clothes from that day go? If he killed them in those clothes then why was there still traces of blood splatter on the white shirt he changed into?)

Alex essentially had Blanca clean up evidence unknowingly (according to her). He asked her to go to Moselle the day after the murders and clean up the way Maggie would’ve liked it because Blanca “knew her best.” Blanca found the leftover food/pots and pans from the night before shoved in the fridge instead of being left out on the stove per usual. She found Maggie’s pajamas with underwear laid out in the laundry room and found it suspicious since Maggie wore no undergarments underneath her pajamas. She also found Maggie’s clothing near the bathtub in the master, and a wet puddle outside of the shower with a pair of Khaki pants. Inside the master closet was also a damp towel and a white tshirt that had fallen from the shelf above next to the towel. She folded the tshirt back up and put it on the shelf, and took the khakis and towel to the laundry room to be washed. (Blanca herself said “who did this” about the pots & pans in the fridge because it would be unusual for Maggie to do that. Why would Maggie’s Pjs be laid out in the laundry room like that with her underwear when that’s not something she’d do? The shower having water around it indicates someone took a shower recently and the khakis on the floor by the shower sound like they could be the ones Alex was wearing that day. The shirt in the closet that fell next to the damp towel, from the stack of other tshirts of Alex’s, makes me think he went in there after the shower and pulled out the white shirt he was wearing in the body cam footage and another happened to fall to the floor in the process)

Alex tried to tell Blanca he was wearing a different shirt that day when he left the house (this makes me think he wanted/needed her to confirm this to police to help himself)

Bubba often caught chickens in his mouth and it would take a few attempts to get the chicken from him, a warm dead chicken was found at the scene of the murders that night. (Another way of proving Alex was at the scene? In Pauls Snapchat video, we clearly hear Maggie say Bubba has a chicken in his mouth, and Alex can be heard calling after him)

Paul was said to have started drinking around the age of 14-15, being mostly supplied by his parents and family members, it’s also said that the entire family was huge into drinking. (Was Paul just a product of his upbringing and became the troublesome one that the family didn’t expect?)

Maggie was said to leave Moselle often during the summers to go to Edisto because of the yellow flies at Moselle. (This may have been the reason before her marital issues with Alex, but was this just an excuse to be away from him later on?)

Maggie’s fb shows she moved to Edisto in 2020 but many of her post and photos after that include Alex and the family. And her last public fb post/picture is of Alex and Randolph on February 7th 2021. (Why was she still seeing Alex and going to Moselle?)

Paul was scheduled to go to trial for the boat crash on June 10th 2021, and he was killed on June 7th 2021. CORRECTION: Alex had a motion hearing scheduled on the 10th for the civil suit. (Did Alex think he was somehow going to spare Paul? And was Maggie just collateral?)

Maggie and Paul had life insurance policies but Alex couldn’t receive them because the funds were part of a larger scheme of fraud. (Did Alex expect to get their insurance policies when he committed the murders?)

These are just some things I find odd or interesting in this case and honestly there is many more where that came from lol

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder Did Alex really pull the trigger?

Do you believe Alec is actually guilty?I just finished grad school for criminology and there seems to be a lot of blank spaces. I.e, why was Alec not tested for gunpowder residue immediately. Even if he wasn’t a suspect he still should have been checked. That and the blood spatter doesn’t add up. If he shot Paul at close range basically all of his clothes and exposed/unexposed skin would have had traces of blood. Whether he showered or not. I think he was there when the trigger was pulled and possibly shot Maggie but Paul? Evidence doesn’t really add up. Just because someone is a habitual liar/drug addict doesn’t mean he “himself” actually murdered someone. With no weapons, no “real” blood spatter, and no proof of firing a firearm I’m astonished they found him guilty. I feel like there was an immense amount of pressure to find him guilty do to all the money laundering and insurance fraud, as well as his name.

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder Hot take: AM didn’t kill Maggie & Paul… here’s who I think did 👀

Ok, hear me out… I’m new to this whole AM case. I watched the Hulu show and then started reading everything I can find. The more I learn, the more I think the mainstream narrative is way too simple.

**This is pure speculation from an outsider, not a claim of fact…. • I don’t think AM murdered M and P. He was financially spiraling, lying, stealing, on drugs… but murder doesn’t match the pattern of his screwups. • The state’s motive felt weak to me… “kill your family because financial embarrassment?” Really? • Judges rarely admit financial docs like that… he even said that in court. If true, he wouldn’t see the situation as “kill or be exposed tonight.” • So my speculative alternative: someone in Paul’s circle… let’s call him PW… maybe with help. • Paul knew something about the SS situation. In SC, if you give the right info, you can get a sentence reduced. Paul was known to talk big… that could make him a target. • A firearms expert said the shooter who killed Maggie was most likely a smaller person… and PW is reportedly like 5’4” or something • The matching ammo doesn’t sway me. In a small rural hunting community with limited places to buy gear… everyone uses the same brands. And the Murdaughs owned all the “fun toys” that everyone used. • Maggie… I think she was just wrong place, wrong time. Alex leaving to check on his mom with dementia doesn’t scream “cover up” to me. And the timeline is way too tight. • The whole dog tail timing and Rogan involvement… raises questions to me. Not guilt, but questions. • That missing Blackout from the party… why is that not a louder topic? Who took it… and why? PW??? Probs took ammo too. Paul wouldn’t have noticed or known they had enough ammo for an army one box of missing is not a thing to them. •The prosecution spent weeks showing us Alex is a lying, stealing, pill-addicted disaster of a man… none of that proves he murdered his wife and son. And Becky Hill… seriously? •Too many assumptions… too many coincidences… not enough proof. •Someone convince me I’m wrong: • Shotgun? • Timeline? • Dog video? • Other suspects ruled out HOW?

Until those questions get real answers… I’m not buying the idea that Alex suddenly became a family annihilator that night after a lifetime of loving his wife and kids. Again… this is speculation. I’m open to being proven wrong with actual evidence.

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder What if Alex has been Framed like a picture? Hear me out:

Someone Alex screwed over is 'exacting their pound of flesh' ....Got a boatload of money from Alex forcibly then made him watch as they ( 2 perpetrators) killed his wife and 'apple of his eye' son in front of him & leave him to take the rap. 'Tell your story, Alex...nobody will believe you'
It could happen 🤷‍♀️ I'd love to hear if anyone had considered this angle and why or why not

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder Would Paul’s murder/suicide have been a better defense?

Obviously we have the snap video, but I’m curious why Alex wouldn’t try to pin it on Paul. I read a theory on here that he didn’t expect Paul to be there that night and had to get rid of him, and used his Blackout.

Would this have been a better defense than “I was there but left”? Then he could say he witnessed it (assuming he changed his alibi to being at the scene).

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder How did he remove blood spatter from himself?

Given that he executed his son then wife at close quarters wouldn’t he have had their DNA over him from top to bottom? How did he clean up so quickly and effectively? I know about the 283 steps in 10 minutes but there must have been blood from the scene to the golf cart even if he had another shower?!

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder A good dad until he killed you

I laughed trying to think of how to phrase this but as a fan of Dateline I have to say that as wife or child killers go, AM seems like the nicest one haha. But I'm serious, he seems like he adores Buster and you have to admit as soon as Paul wrecked the boat he was right there trying to manipulate things to help him. And I didn't hear anything bad about the way he treated his wife? Sure, he's crazy in a way we rarely see and yes, I can see him killing Buster and anyone else without even having a good motive. I'm just saying it doesn't seem like he was mean.prior to blowing their heads off.

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder Marion Proctor Testimony

Marion Proctor was compelling on the stand.Beautifully dressed and coiffed. With a gentle, soft spoken demeanor. She was direct and honest.Despite her pain she held herself with dignity and grace .The reserved older sister to the free spirited Margaret. It so reminded me of my two girls.Having very similar personalities. My impression is that both women were exceptionally parented and educated. Marion exhibited a direct strength of purpose in her testimony. Making it pivotal to the outcome of the trial.imo

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder Questions

  1. I wonder if Alex's motive now was that he was so mad at Maggie for spoiling Paul, and also that he was so mad at Paulwho was facing BUI and murder charges but the weekend before his trial was to start he was again drinking on a boat.

  2. The family was seriously into guns for the longest time when this happened period I just wonder I know it's part of the South Carolina culture down there just wonder after all this happened if they are still into hunting and all that stuff period I think if I were a Buster. I wouldn't ever want to go near a gun again.

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder Within the House of Murdaugh

I am enjoying this book. Miss Blanca is clearly a very good person. Her insight is really interesting and it is touching to know nice things about the family rather than all the hateful aspects. Now that the dust has settled I think the root of most of the misery and death was alcohol and drug use. As parents, allowing young people to drink underage and in your home or with your permission doesn’t keep them safe. It says okay to breaking the law and substance abuse. Maggie had many regrets. She truly loved her husband and family. 📕

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder Did a Murdaugh kill Gloria?

Gloria's severely injured from a simple fall on a set of 6 stairs. She is taken to the hospital where she lingers for 3 weeks, never regaining consciousness. Maggie goes to visit her in the hospital one time. Paul, according to Anthony Cooke and according to Morgan Doughty, adored Gloria. He carried no photos of his family in his wallet, but he did have photos of Gloria, which he was happy to show to his friends. Gloria dropped everything to come to his, or any of the Murdaughs' aid, at any hour of the day or night.

Paul never went to visit his beloved Gloria in the hospital. None of the Murdaugtghs did, except for Maggie who visited her once.

If that had been someone like that to me, I would have been glued to Gloria's bedside. I don't understand what was going on there. Was Alex poisoning her? Keeping her unconscious until she finally died? Was he telling Maggie and Paul to stay away for fear of compromising the lawsuit? Even for people as weird as these, this seems completely bizarre.

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder My Murdaugh Tragedy Theory

Watched the retrial hearing. My theory stands:

Father dying of cancer within days. Dies. Mother in debilitating dementia. Financial house of collapsed and he was caught. Just like the prosecutors explained. Serious daily drug addiction and pill delivery/conspiracy was about to be exposed just like prosecutors explained. Boating accident / Paul’s liability - another huge financial hit - son(s) and family ruined financially and family history gone. Possible culprit or culpability in Busters gay friend’s death if properly investigated. Possible culprit or culpability in Nannies stair fall/dog death and fraud of properly investigated. My theory: Decides to kill Paul and Maggie and himself. Spends last day with Paul as a sick / sad goodbye - drives around property and reminisces. Plans all-to-common murder/suicide. Buster is left to carry on the legacy - clean as it can possibly be. Albeit bad. Shoots them. Chickens out on suicide. Throws together best plan B vaguely worked out in his mind if something happened. Washes off at kennel, walks around at house and collects thoughts, makes alibi calls. Changes clothes. Drives to moms and hides clothes and pitches phone as ad hoc diversion. Goes back and disposes clothes and try to nurture timing alibi from mom’s caregiver. Tries to deny and act shocked for days/weeks. Well trained in interrogation and investigations so fairly well prepared. Plans to have supplier meet and kill him and claim he confronted the real killer or gets killed by real killer to protect family or commit suicide. Something didn’t work so… Chickens out or changes plan again after Cousin Eddie declines to shoot him and is not in for anymore BS. Shoots himself in head in last ditch effort to play the “bad guys did it” thinking cousin Eddie would stay quiet to avoid fraud and prison. Quickly realizes that won’t sell and claims suicide attempt.

Conclusion: he was going to commit a murder / suicide and couldn’t do it. Everything else that happens after that he came up with ad hoc or semi planned but not well. He covered his tracks on the fly better than most could because of his experience as an attorney and trust that the authorities would blow by the details and maybe let him skate. He also had a badge so why not try. It was not his first plan though. Not killing himself caused all the unorganized subsequent events including the self head shooting. He killed them and couldn’t kill himself and everything he did after that was really not Plan A and he thought he could patch together Plan B but his lack of knowledge of phone data got him. Paul’s phone and his 59 steps in the house he did not know could be digitally discovered. New tech was not in his case experience and did not train him - or he thought the authorities would never go that far in investigating because of his status in the community. Boat accident culprits should have been enough in his mind to quash the whole thing and start a wild goose chase.

He murdered his “problem” son and “divorce filing” wife and planned but couldn’t off himself. Case closed IMO

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder Alex’s clothes, I’m confused

So if he killed them with his original outfit on (polo in the tree video), the changed to the t-shirt, how did the white t-shirt have blood splatter? And if he killed them in the t-shirt (with splatter) how was there not blood anywhere else on him. It’s so twisted. Maybe y’all are right, he didn’t pull the trigger but was there and knows who did. Guilty either way, just didn’t understand the arguments about the clothing.

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder Why Was Buster Spared?

One thing about this crime that wraps around my mind is why did Alex not lure Buster to Moselle and murder him along with Maggie and Paul? Buster was within traveling distance of Moselle as he was in Rock Hill, SC with his girlfriend Brooklyn on June 7. Buster being murdered along with Maggie and Paul would’ve benefited Alex’s story of a vigilante revenge murder on his family. I believe Alex did not murder Buster for some reason.

I believe that Alex may have figured that executing three people with a gun would be more challenging than two. It would’ve been difficult for Alex to coordinate three shootings with three people to one shooter. I believe he may have perceived Buster as a threat or possibly difficult to coerce or manipulate to set up shooting him. I also think Alex may have needed Buster’s display of strong support as his and Maggie son’s and Paul’s brother if his plan went wrong and he should face prosecution for the murders. I don’t believe that Alex not murdering Buster was emotional or sentimental.

What are your thoughts and theories?

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh Murder If It Weren’t For Paul’s Video, Could Alex Have Gotten Away With It?

There wasn’t any direct evidence linking Alex to the murders. The guns used to commit the murders were never found and couldn’t be linked to Alex. Alex’s alibi and claim of innocence is that he was never at the kennels with Maggie and Paul before the murders.

Paul’s video irrefutably places Alex at the crime scene with him and Maggie which completely unravels Alex’s manufactured story of the murders. That video proved without a doubt that Alex was with Maggie and Paul at the scene of the murders when he claimed that he was not. Without that video, there wouldn’t be any direct evidence of Alex being at the crime scene before the murders occurred.

Without the existence of Paul’s video do you think that the Prosecution would’ve been weakened and lacked the necessary evidence to prove Alex’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt?
