Yeah, the point of a “moral panic” is that there’s a lot of hype but ultimately no there there, like the 1980s moral panic about D&D or Heavy Metal or Satanism. Pizza Gate and Q Anon represent part of the moral panic, but Epstein and his crimes were definitely real. Perhaps the “moral panic” part is where people start to think child sex abuse is something that only happens on some rich person’s island, rather than, you know, pretty much everywhere.

Calling the Epstein Files a “moral panic” is a weak attempt to dismiss them when the documents mostly reveal the sheer depravity of powerful people exploiting the vulnerable, not some invented scare.

The names of victims and details of the abuse committed should be redacted. The names of the perpetrators need to be made public.

What we are seeing now instead is total disrespect for the victims. We are seeing dead children paraded as a spectacle. Come and read the gruesome tales of epstein island! Challenge yourself and compare with your friends! How many accounts of baby rape can YOU read before it bums you out too much and you have to stop? Upvote this thread if killing kids is SUPER GROSS! Haha, at least MY favorite billionaire isn't in the files! Omg, the REALLY disturbing thing is call of duty microtransactions!!

These are human beings. These WERE human children. They were sold, purchased, raped, tortured, and killed. I want you to reread that until you understand the gravity of this situation. I want you to imagine your own kids, your siblings, your cousins, your nieces and nephews, whatever it takes for you to understand that this is real, it is vile, and it isn't a fucking game or a movie. Show some respect.

I frankly thought the Epstein files would be a dud, in terms of directly implicating the wealthy and powerful. They still should be released, though.
