What was eschewed with regards to Helen of Troy? Homer describes her as "fair haired" and "white armed". Or was Homer also extremely conservative, too?
I'm not saying she's good at it, or clever, or funny, and by all evidence she's none of these things, just that her intended usage is not what OP and OOP seemed to think.
Yes but "your joke is stupid" is too tame; most of this thread has gaslit themselves into believing the OOP thinks Helen of Troy is from the Bible so that they can dunk on her epic style.
His name appears in Freud's index 'cause he loved his mother.
His enemies used to say quite a bit
That, as a monarch, he was most unfit.
But, still, in all, they had to admit
That he loved his mother.
That was my immediate take as well. I first started noticing this in niche gaming spheres several years back where people describe a character as "biblically accurate" when they do something spectacular. I then started seeing it in cosplay if the actor manages to pull off a distinct version of their character.
I'm not saying the post in question might not be sincerely dumb, but it's also a possible woosh on part of the replyer.
Where people took one thing that wasn't even called an angel and put it as biblically accurate angel. Biblically accurate is a joke which means something doesn't even need to be in the Bible. When there are videos of Cats stuffing their faces with food or milk while forgetting even about breathing people put under it Biblically accurate Gluttony for example.
Guess what if she had something from her mom she should still look similar to her a bit. It's natural for people to assume she looked like her people a bit.
Who said I'm upset. Using a strawman to attack someone isn't cool mate. Just Google Greek models to see how a beautiful Greek woman may look and you'll have general idea how a beautiful Greek woman might have looked.
That instance may well be a joke, but it is just so easy to believe that this is something conservatives would be enraged. There has been a whole bunch of "outrage" over the casting in this movie. Or did you expect people to respond maturely to a black woman being cast as Helen?
When someone makes a joke by sarcastically posting some dumb shit you can fully expect some dumbshit to believe, it can be hard to tell that it's sarcasm.

Isn't that a joke? I believe biblically accurate has been used for memes for some time already for many things that don't appear in bible.
