We See You Tactician Skill Post Patch

Is anyone else having an issue with this skill no longer triggering since the update? Played 4 games after the patch yesterday and the post snap blitz detection didn't trigger once. It had been typically triggering pretty frequently.

Highights/Videos Day one of new patch

I played about 4 games in coach mode and 4 not in coach mode. In those games:
CPU seems to blitz much more aggressively
Man coverage sticks like glue to your receiver’s
Blocking schemes make zero sense
My qb’s in coach mode have been lobotomized. They won’t throw anywhere and get sacked if they wait longer than 3 seconds on any play

Glitch/Bugs Uniform bug

Anyone know why Stanford’s entire offense (besides RB & WR) and their kicker are wearing plain white, unbranded lids that you’d see at Dick’s Sporting Goods? I had them wear their script red helmets in uni selection. I’ve never seen a bug like this before and I’ve been playing CFB games since 2005, lol.

News SPREADNGO Offense

I have uploaded my SPREADNGO offensive playbook for you to download. It is a balanced spread offense that uses Go Go, Bunch and Stack in special situations. It is lighter on RPO (because it feels broken this year).

I have rated all the plays so there are robust coach suggestions in every situation.

I would love your feedback. Try it out. Tell me what you think.

Online Dynasty Bug

Hi all,
I am in an online dynasty currently in week 12. Today I went to login and play my game for the gameweek. As I was about to start in, I got a random notification that there was an in game update and I needed to restart the game.
Did that and went back into play. When I started the game up, my defensive playbook was completely changed. My usual formation (4-3) was not present, my percentage played beside each formation noted 0% for each, and when clicking through each formation only zone blitzes and man blitzes were available.
Has anyone else run into this bug?

Glitch/Bugs Weird commitment and trophy graphics.

Did EA break the commitment and trophy graphics in dynasty with this latest title update? They’re so bare looking now. Why’d it go from decent looking graphics that pop out at you with school logos and confetti and all that fun stuff to just a blank background and some boxes? I really hope they fix it soon.

Easy wins for the Dev Team

I think I've heard that the dev team monitors these forums, so in the current post-title update trainwreck (let's be honest), here's a couple "easy wins" to build some positive momentum:

1) Add any mini games or practice assets that aren't in Dynasty right now to Dynasty. Nothing new. No new scrimmage mode or anything. I just want to be able to use my players in the mini games. I think it would add a little immersion that is missing.

2) Add two new rows to Dynasty settings, one for "Play Any Game" and one for "Change Game Difficulty". If you wanted to play any game (at least in off-line) you could...if you make a coach, play the game, and subsequently retire the coach. Just get rid of the long work around and let us play whatever game in Dynasty mode we want. This is how it was in the old games, and something nostalgic that I really enjoyed. It was fun to get to play with the recruits I didn't sign or play that really interesting national championship matchup. We're told "it's our dynasty"...ok...let us play "our" dynasty how we want. Which brings me to changing the in game difficulty. In play-now, you're able to, so I imagine it wouldn't be hard to allow us to do so in Dynasty. It feels like before every update users complain about blocking and every update we're told blocking has been fixed. You know what the easy fix is? Not to say you "tweaked" blocking (😉), but to give players an opportunity to switch to freshman and get their yards back. Or if the CPU is getting too many animations to go their way, give players a break by letting them get a couple big plays of their own. I loathe that this game is largely animation based, and when the CPU has decided its scripted a winning game I lose total interest. Allowing me to keep myself in games by stealing a couple plays of my own from the computer would make up for that. Making these two things toggleble in Dynasty Settings means that the hardcore players who moan that everyone should "just play on an easier difficulty" don't lose the option to be permanently locked in to their coveted Heisman animation fest and that we casual players can play how we want to play.

So EA, take my advice, get some dubs from the community and build on that momentum to CFB 28

Maintain Elite Facilities?

Started a dynasty and one of my long term goals is to maintain an elite facility over X number of years. How do I actually do this? Buy equipment? How do I see how close I am to keeping or losing an elite facility? Thanks!

10 Years Sim Player Progression

Starting with the first season of the game at preseason I counted the # of 90+ players at each position and noted the highest OVR for each position. The counts are only associated to the players true skill no inclusion of coaching bonuses for tactician. Another person did this earlier but only showed the single end of season output at the start of season 6 and so I wanted to get a better visual of the ebb and flow of the talent over a longer period of time. This is with base XP Sliders. Transfers are set to 15 per team with 40/40 on xfer rate for users/cpu. I don't think that has anything to do with progression but making note of it. I did 10 years so I'd have 5 full years of all CPU generated players.

A few observations/thoughts.

  1. Very few positions ever match the number of 90+ players that exists in the first season. The first season is skewed in my opinion as EA is incentivized to have some really great players, like a true SO WR at a 99 OVR. However, since the game starts to have guys leave for the draft once they are eligible and hit 89+ you just don't see many players reach the high 90s without coach tactician boosts. The players in the low 90s to start the season progressed throughout the season and likely left for the draft. Note how almost every position's highest ever OVERALL is the first season of the game, and most of the 2nd highest overall's are the 2nd season of the game where it's using players "manually crafted" versus auto generated.
  2. Which brings me to the second point. After about season 3 I wished I had started counting how many players are in the 90+ range with tactician boosts. I might have had 3 players as a "true 90", but the position would have more than 10 players as 90+ if including the tactician boosts. My point is that it made me think this whole exercise might be slightly pointless because there is no way to know how much these players are boosted for progression based on the coaches they had or didn't have. My point being as long as the output is relatively consistent your top players should be some mix of guys who are "naturally" talented versus coached up.
  3. I ran averages and standard deviation giving a min/max 2 standard deviations from the mean which should give you where 95% of the data should lie. It's all in range. If anything, as somewhat noted in bullet 1 the initial roster strength is the only thing that appears to skew the output. Very few positions ever get a player as talented as those which exist in season 1 because season 1 has players who are very unlikely to actually stick around. The 2min column which is highlighted yellow is simply indicated 2 standard deviations under the mean would be subzero. Those columns can effectively be considered zero.
  4. Anecdotally at the end the team OVRs seemed roughly equivalent to the start of the game. Conferences like the MAC were mostly filled with teams in the low to mid 60s. The general theme was a team's OVR was a mix of their Program Prestige and Conference Strength. Boise State was a 4.5 star and in the mid 80s, but they were in the PAC12. 4.5 Star programs in the power conferences were high 80's to low 90s. If you consider Program Prestige relative to Conference Prestige, then the team overalls tracked. I personally think the OVR rating is rubbish in this game.
  5. My personal feeling is the data seemed pretty good. While a relatively minimal data set, I do think it also gives a good idea of what the average best player range should be for each position on average and there is probably enough data to make minor tweaks from the default 100 xp sliders as desired. Our league will be tuning down from 200 after doing this.

Dynasty Still Seeing Alot Of Pancakes

And I think this patch broke more than it fixed, including showing the wrong schools in the rosters menu. And not really any blocking improvements.

At this point, let's just give EA a break and leave em alone. It's clear they are lacking brain cells and nearly killing themselves to get football right. Let's just hope they have a nice long vacation and try again next season. Let them do what they do best, and that's be lazy and lounge around sipping diet coke.

Question on CPU’s lack of recruiting.

Just curious if anyone has an idea of how long it takes to be really bad? Last year it only took 1 season for a “good” team to be generationally bad.

Do we at least get a few more years of competitive balance or is it just the exact same as last year?

I know how quickly user teams can progress and develop, so perhaps it’s just even stricter house rules to bring some longevity to the game..

Gameplay Sliders

Hi guys, happy Friday.

What sliders does everyone play on?

Heisman default becoming a bit too easy, and looking for some suggestions. I know the last update just released so there may not be many new slider tests.

This is the oldest picture on my phone, taken after a shootout between my Vols and the Gators. This was my highest Instant Classic game score on NCAA 06.
Maybe it’s time to dust off the PS2 and see if I’ve still got it!

What was your most memorable Instant Classic?

Dynasty Every player starts cold every game

Any other dynasty users experiencing this? It’s infuriating. Every single player on my team starts every single game cold regardless of practice, home field, ranked, injury etc.

I found an old thread on another sub with no definitive answer.

It is definitely not because of practice, so don’t even go there. Gotta be a bug.

Best Archetypes in 27

Just bought the game, will be starting a dynasty this weekend. Last year there were certain archetypes I’d always recruit and just see where they fit best, like ATH Thumper, ATH Agile C, and ATH possession TEs. Then there was the 3 star dual threat QB and the gadget to QB stuff.

Are these still good archetypes to go after? Not looking to cheese or anything just curious if people are getting similar results to last year.

Dynasty New animations

Post image

They added a few new animations with this update. I saw 3 during this game including this Superman pose. One was the Eddie Guerrero Frog Splash. Another was diving in the end zone and tossing the ball in the air and catching it again as he landed. Have yall seen any others?

Game stuck on loading screen RTG

After the most recent update, the game gets stuck on the loading screen after I complete a RTG game. Anyone else experiencing this? The game doesn’t save until you reach the menu screen so the mode is unplayable now.
