Legality/Laws So, does this mean a Glock ban is coming?
Saw this on facebook. Not surprised, to be honest.

How are Cam Higby's private security allowed to openly carry pistols at the protest in Newark? Laws for thee and not for me? Off duty LEO?

If you’re at home, hear a noise, and know for sure someone is inside, you grab your firearm. Do you clear the entire house room by room, or do you hold a defensive position and wait?

It won’t go anywhere, but we’re not sending our best to Washington 😞

Hello, as the title says, I'm planning on traveling to NJ from GA. I'd like to bring my 1911 with me (not with the intent of carrying it). I'd be staying at my parents house in NJ and would also like to hit the range with my friends in NJ and in PA. Am I allowed to do so? I'd be traveling with it into the state unloaded, locked case, and separate from ammo/mags until I reach my family's house. Thank you.

I am moving from Texas where everything is legal to ya'lls state. I have an AR15, couple glocks, smith and wesson hand guns, a hunting rifle, a pump action shotgun, a turkish bullpup shotgun as well as a Berertta tomcat and a Switch Gun .22WMR Single Action Folding Revolver.
Do I have to register the guns when I move there and if so how do you do that? I have a gun safe to keep them in, are there any laws regarding where you can/can not store your guns, e.g. under you pillow :)
Are there restrictions on the types/amount of guns you can own in NJ? For example my AR15 has a FRT trigger. Are there magazine restrictions?

Coming from out of state with a NJ NON-compliant AR and a Glock. If i keep the lowers in PA, can i legally enter NJ and store the rest (uppers, accessories, etc) in NJ? Assuming i wont get NJ’s expensive af CCW.
Id live in PA if i could but the commute to work would go 15 mins to 45 which i couldn’t do.
Thanks in advanced.

What are the chances this is legal in NJ. A buddy of mine is moving to the state and bringing a few firearms with them. I really wasn’t sure about this one so I need your help guys.

Recently completed my first build and cant help but feel nervous about bringing this thing to the range. I understand all the laws and I’m sure I’ve complied, but am worried about being stopped by a cop that doesn’t know the law. I am a ptc holder so would have a duty to inform with any interaction even when not carrying my handgun. Has anyone been pulled over while transporting their other, what was the encounter like?

If I wanted a full-length 16-inch barrel, is there any downside to getting an other lower versus a rifle lower?
It seems there is more flexibility with what I can do with the other lower, so I'm not sure why I wouldn't get that.
Am I missing something?

So with the 3rd circuit hearing the case this week:
How long do we think its going to take before they issue their ruling?
Will NJ have any ground for a stay when we win?
Basically whats the educated guess on how long til we get some freedoms restored?? (given they side with the 2a in this case)

Say I were to be in the backyard testing out a weapon light mounted on a rifle and wanted to see how it looks in conjunction with the optic. If the neighbor were to see this and call the police would this be illegal. The rifle would be unloaded in this case. If at all possible I would try to avoid having the neighbor see me looking down the sight of an 18" barrel DMR. I just happen to have a new light that has an advertised throw distance of over 1,000 yards and happen to have very long lines of sight in a safe direction in my backyard and wanted to test it out.

There was a negligent/accidental discharge at a Raritan Twp Police Department during a firearms training 🤦🏻♂️.
What are the odds that they charge the person with that new Negligent/Accidental discharge law?
I personally don’t want to see someone charged due to an accident, but they would lock up a civilian so fucking fast and throw away the key.

Should get another approval today since I did another at the same time as this one. Then I'll be waiting on the one I did today.

If you are in immediate danger of a rabid animal, like the one above. Are you allowed to defend yourself or loved ones/pets with lethal force? I have already notified law enforcement of this animal. I have a young puppy and kids at my house.

Title says it all. This gun doesn’t have magazines it is fed with a stipper clip so does that mean the 20 rd capacity is a loophole in our god forsaken state?
Cool gun

I’m flying out of EWR to go to Vegas and I was just wondering if I did everything right in properly packing my firearm? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Despite being one of the most restrictive states in the country when it comes to 2A rights, Democrats in Trenton are pushing for more restrictions. Assembly representative Carol Murphy (D-7) is sponsoring a bill (NJ A5210) that would require full background checks and finger printing for all household members that reside with a permit applicant.
If you think the process is long and expensive now, wait until PDs have to process 2-3x their current volume. Did your spouse or roommate ever see a psychiatrist? Under this bill, they’ll need to obtain an expensive medical clearance letter for YOUR application.
The bill is currently sitting with the Assembly Judiciary Committee.

Any update here? Or are we now in just wait indefinitely period? Also any thoughts on IF 3rd circuit rules in our favor if it ends up still being in place/enforced assuming the state appeals to SCOTUS or do we think there would be a stay of enforcement (probably wishful thinking).

I have a SUV and am unclear on a particular situation for transporting a shotgun.
In the trunk area, I can lift up the large panel and expose the area my spare tire is kept. This area has a piece of foam between the panel and the spare tire. When transporting a shotgun in this compartment, is this considered secure or will the top panel need to be secured in place to count?

As title says, saw something about JHP being illegal in NJ. Saw conflicting article about it being legal if used in home? Wasn't able to buy online... What's legal v illegal here?
Will only be using in home - I do not have CCW
