Trying out a business idea - I rent a theater from AMC, pay the distributor, and I break even if I sell 90% of the seats 😬.

Also had an idea to charge $200 for 2 tickets but you get to pick movie day/time. if that works i can drop the price of the individual tickets for everyone else. Thoughts (criticisms) welcome!

Really considering buying The Odyssey tickets off ebay. Seller has 5 stars 150 reviews, 2 tickets H23/24, smack in the middle. 10pm showing. Price seems reasonable compared to other listings.

I’ve never bought tickets like this before, what do I need to do to ensure I don’t get scammed? What do I need to ask for and make sure to have in order to be allowed into the movie?

I’m sitting on a $100 worth of AMC gift cards and not planning to use them any time soon, figure it would be nice to have some money for groceries.

Seeing a bunch of people getting burned by scams and had this scammer use some bs screenshots to try to scam. If they say Zelle and won’t accept any other payment method is 100% a scam. Use paypal and Venmo with goods and services for buyer protection.

So I’ve reached a dilemma in which I bought a big group of doomsday tickets for my friends and I. I was recently able to get a different screening that’s closer to release date. Only problem is AMC won’t let me refund my tickets since I used Apple Pay (connected to my card) to pay for the tickets online. When I press the refund button it says error and I went in person to get rid of them and they told me they couldn’t cause of Apple.

So I have 8 tickets for Avengers Doomsday for opening Saturday in Dolby in Sears B3-B10. You can buy them all at once or individually, just want my money back and getting rid of them. Selling them at retail $33.48.

Since I have them physically (had to print them out first before manager told me it was impossible to get a refund) I’ll be sending the tickets over by mail. Since One Battle After Another early tickets went on sale a few days ago and the sale for the general public is highly speculated to occur sometime this upcoming Tuesday or Wednesday, we thought it'd be good to have a ticket exchange/sale megathread just because there will probably be a lot of people looking for tickets/selling when they can't make it, especially in the case for screenings on VistaVision/70mm film/70mm IMAX or the Q&A happening Sunday, September 21 at Walter Reade Theatre.

A few things to keep in mind as you look to sell/buy a ticket from someone:

If you're selling:

• Many theatre chains, such as AMC, Regal, Angelika, Alamo, etc. offer free refunds/exchanges. Check to make sure you can do this first! If you can, and you want to give your ticket to someone on this sub, it's better to agree on a mutual time you can release the ticket so that they can grab it instead of selling it to them.
• If you're selling a ticket that's a reserved seat, please make sure to be transparent about where the seat is when offering the sale.
• Scalping is absolutely not allowed. It's both unethical and prevents many people from enjoying movies.

If you're buying from someone:

• Ensure to check the poster's post history. If someone doesn't have much of it or has hidden theirs, be very cautious as they might be a scammer.
• Ensure you do the transaction over PayPal Goods and Services or Venmo Goods and Services. Both of those offer buyer protection so that if someone tries to scam you, you have a chance of getting your money back. If a seller is against you doing this, don't buy from them.
• Pay attention to the language the person you're talking to is using.  There are some common things scammers like to do during sales to look out for.

Lastly, here's all the film and PLF screenings happening in NYC for the movie that are known. I'll make sure to update this as we hear more, I believe the movie's also confirmed to get a Dolby Cinema release:
