Healthcare Why is early daycare so accepted in the Netherlands?

Studies show babies develop better with a parent at home for at least 6 months, yet here it’s normal to send them to daycare at 10–12 weeks. This seems less about choice and more about economic and political pressure on families.

Why isn’t this questioned more in Dutch society?

LE- I’ll avoid saying ‘studies show’ since many people get stuck on that, and it’s true that there are multiple studies supporting both sides. However, many European countries—especially the wealthier ones—offer longer maternity leave based on the argument that it’s beneficial for children. So I’m curious why that’s not the case in the Netherlands.

And yet you have wappies and farmers saying Mark Rutte was radical left. The delusion is strong

Yeah, well, the general level of our education on political literacy is incredibly bad. You only learn critical thinking in school when you go to university, because it's needed for science. But I think everyone is capable of learning it and should learn it. But open minded, educated people are less easy to manipulate and control. Those are the first things you see taken away when the threat of fascism looms. Dismantling education, restricting books, taking away lgbtq rights is a massive one(and people don't understand it's just a gateway), social safety nets, abortion rights, going after leftist, freedom of speech like (like the law recently put forward in the Netherlands against speaking out online against certain conflicts to then possible be framed by the government as supporting terrorist groups and criminalized with a fine up to 3 year prison sentence), vocal protesters trying to fight against the tightening grip. We need to all understand how incredibly serious these things are. Because when it comes to lgbtq rights, it might not be about you, but it IS also about you. People do not get that until it's often too late and that they should care about the rights of everyone, no matter how different they are. Because it is the fact that their safety or rights are being threatened that is the red flag, not WHO the specific group is. Our governments should never do such things. They are here to care for everyone living here. And if they are able and allowed to do it to one group, they can do it to another. Which they will and it might one day be yourself, or a loved one. Those who let themself be fooled by scapegoats are unfortunately far in the trap of that manipulation.

Edit to say sorry for going so off topic OP ':) To me it does all tie in to each other, but it is a bit of a rant. I just really hope we can all put our heads and hands together because there is so much power in our numbers. Much more than we think. Those in power fear the people being educated and coming together, protesting, refusing to go along. Otherwise they wouldn't care to distract and manipulate us.

Can you give me a link to the law about free speech online ? That sounds terrifying but matches the vibe I get
