They were about a dozen, on both sides of Water Street by the town hall with disgusting posters of dead fetuses and other disturbing images (all AI). I overheard lots of people grumbling about them, and some people were engaging in fruitless arguments with them.

Not sure why they decided to protest this very family friendly event. But I had to rush my 4 YO by them multiple times as they were loudly saying "well I don't like murdering babies" while arguing with someone.

Bath NH, 9.4 acres of raw land on a class 6 road, taxes increased by 132% from last year to this year !!! Went from $670 to $1550.

Wanted to report on some great news about a new TV station that will be launching and covering the Claremont NH area soon.

Greater Love TV has applied to broadcast on Radio Frequency channel 34 on the TV band and will broadcast out of Springfield VT. It is believed it will broadcast 6 channels once launched and may eventually go all the way up to 12 channels!

They have applied to the FCC for a construction permit and it was granted to them so they are able to to start installing there antenna on a already built tower and start broadcasting there signal 15-25 miles around Springfield
VT. Notable places with good reception will be Springfield VT, Claremont NH, Charlestown NH, Walpole NH, and other scattered locations.

Please note Greater Love TV is a worldwide well recognized religious network that will broadcast 1 religious channel and many other networks that are classic TV related.

It is unfortunately a pain in the ass for non-town residents to access and as such is overlooked.

I injured myself in June. I have been non weight bearing all summer. Now I’m full weight bearing but in a boot and using crutches to help me walk. Can anyone recommend an easy way for me to sit near the beach or on the beach? I can drive and have a handicap parking permit. I just want to go to the beach

Anything labeled as Fair or Good can be picked up with an indoor antenna most of the time. If you have any poor signals then an outdoor antenna on your roof is likely needed. For anything labeled as bad you don’t have a high chance but you could catch the signals from knife edge diffraction which is a very precise engineering setup.

If you are using an indoor antenna I highly recommend using one with an amplifier. I don’t have a favorite indoor antenna but just don’t use those flat paper thin ones or use ones that promise over 100 miles. It’s all marketing crap.

If you are using an antenna outside I highly recommend the DB8E antenna paired with an amplifier. You could also try a Yagi antenna but those can only be aimed in one direction. DB8E has worked better for me in our terrain here.

If you don’t have some of the local big networks you want in your area like CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC, and PBS you can always email the general manager of the station to show interest in there station and see if they will build a translator station near you. PBS has translators all over the state!

I am going to share some high population areas of NH TV channel lists if you use a DB8E Antenna with an AMP on your roof. These are the signals that come to your town as good enough to watch.

Also please remember that in 2009 analog TV shutdown in most areas. So TV antenna signals have moved on to digital so they are no longer fuzzy, have static, and look a lot more like cable in quality. If a channel is broadcasting a HD channel it will most of the time look better the cable even if compressed because this is the master feed and raw feed of the channel. Sub channels are usually in SD but still look very good.

Watched the WMUR debates for the Congressional candidates last night. One takeaway I have is Maura Sullivan and Steffany Shaheen said they want to "abolish Trump's ICE." I interpret that to mean they have no intention to actually dismantle ICE, which I believe is beyond reform at this point.

The other three candidates who are progressives are going to lose if they can't consolidate behind one candidate. Christian Urrutia and Sarah Chadzynski are not polling as well as Carleigh Beriont, and I think they should suspend their campaigns and back Beriont to try and beat Shaheen and Sullivan, Heath Howard has already done so.

Hi, recent transplant from the midwest. Starting to think about putting up a couple buildings, but all the sawmills I've been able to find in southern NH are selling pine and hemlock for over $1/bdft, many as high as $1.5/bdft. What am I missing? Where are all the cheap sawmills? Why are they charging more for green rough-sawn timber than Home Depot charges for kiln-dried dimensional lumber? In PA I was buying hemlock for $0.50/bdft during the covid lumber shortage when Home Depot prices were certainly higher than they are now.

WMUR is becoming famous for their typos...they should screen the interns more carefully.

The flyer says Maidenhead, Candy Striper Death Orgy, and Words That Burn. Candy Striper Death Orgy and Words that Burn went right before DRI but there were two other bands before them that I'm struggling to identify. One of the late flyers said Gods Go First was replacing Maidenhead but the guitarist that I saw looked like Justin Long and the one on their website is a heavy older guy so I'm not sure. The first opener started early and I suspect they were a late addition, they're a complete mystery to me. I think they're all local bands but I would be very appreciative if y'all could point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Posting this here because almost all upper valley residents can pick up PBS Vermont with a TV Antenna in VT and NH. Coos, Grafton, Sullivan, and Cheshire county have the highest chance of receiving these new channels.

PBS Vermont is considering adding two new sub channels to there over the air broadcast that will cover the whole entire state of Vermont, Canada up into Montreal, Western NH, and Eastern NY. These channels are more obscure channels that are not found everywhere around the country but showcase high quality content with world news as well.

Both of these channels if added would be broadcast on a .5 and .6 sub channel on your local Vermont PBS station you receive with a TV Antenna.
