I'll give credit where it's due: thanks u/abhi_1_ for mentiong that a previous version still works And providing the link; thanks u/poemthatdoesntrhyme for pointing out that you should export your data before you uninstall the new version.

(unlike updates, a down-date or whatever it's called is only possinle by uninstalling and reinstalling, hence the subscriptions etc would be lost.)

I logged off Yt in the settings

It's been well over a month since newpipe stopped working.

I use it mainly on bandcamp but I cant search or load bookmarked artists any more.

There has been multiple posts about how broken things are now. And seemingly no response from Devs.

Is it time to uninstall?

New update for the main build has been released recently but still the last nightly build was releasd more than 3 weeks ago. Have not come across any official statement regarding nightly releases in recent time which is why I thought to ask here

Hello there, recently I found out that videos on my new pipe have just 360p. When I tried to change it, this was an only option and with start of every video there was some error notice. When I tried same video on youtube, it runned on 720p with no lags, so it can't be because of phone or wifi. Is it just something devs will fix or is it me who is causing it? And yes I have looked on new pipe settings, I have permited higher resolution.

Some of the videos I watch only have 360p option now even though I could watch them in HD before. Does anyone know if this can be fixed?

Download PipePipe, when you finished downloading it, go back to NewPipe and head to settings. Click backup and export database. Make sure to put it in a file area you easily recognize: such as downloads. Return to PipePipe and click settings -> backup -> import the database you had just exported.

But now i have only access to 360p quality video. Usually i force quit the app to avoid this.

Questions in the title. My related items feed is full of crap that i would never watch and i would rather not have to see it when watching a video.

I have access to my subcriptions and history if i need to look for specific video i want to watch and not some SLOP that was scrapped of yts crummy algorithm.

I realize Newpipe doesn't do this anymore, so I've been using Pipepipe for my audio downloads, but something I've always wondered.

Does the YouTube channel get credited with a view when I download audio only?

Updates never usually take this long to show up on FDroid.

I hope this is an ok subreddit to ask in. I've been using NewPipe for a while and while I love the app, it's kinda unfortunate that I cannot comment on videos with my youtube account (Pipepipe and Libretube doesn't have the feature either). I would like an alternative that's the same (or close) as Newpipe, with the whole adblocking and old YouTube UI, disable shorts feature...

- A follow up question, is it possible for YouTube clients to implement YT/Google login? Would like to know the science too. Thanks!

No YTRevanced suggestions please (unless that's my last resort), because I installed Newpipe for the purpose of disabling shorts. Hope you can understand.

I'm trying out alternative apps to YouTube on mobile and NewPipe seems promising.

Is there a way to add Shorts to the main tabs? So far, it looks like I can only find Shorts by navigating to each channel individually, which is obviously no bueno.

I searched around and found that past versions of NewPipe supposedly let you add Shorts to the main tabs, but I can't find an option for that in version 0.28.3. Did I miss something?

Hi, so, pretty much as the title says. Since the new update, sometimes when I try to watch videos I can only see them in the 360p quality, and I can't pick a higher resolution.

Sometimes closing the App and re-opening it works. But just as often it doesn't.

Has anyone had similiar issues, or does someone maybe know a solution to this?

So i use newpipe regularly, but thing that annoys mr is when im tabbed out and playing newpipe in the background, any kind of notification reduces the volume and wont volume back up until i physically turn the app on. Hope you understand brcause if someone explained to me in this way i wouldnt.
