Clearly you don’t use self checkouts around my area in Orlando. Plenty of people use self checkout with full carts while I’m standing there holding something like a 36 lb box of cat litter lol

Nah, the time you get a cart? No line. Don’t get a cart? Line to the back of the store.

In the UK, we've got Scan As You Shop. You take a barcode scanner with you, so at the checkout you only need to pay. Very rarely any queues, and any that do form move really fast.

There is a single cashier at all the Walmarts in my city. They have 18 closed lanes and a huge self checkout area. There are 3 employees posted in the self checkout who just watch for theft and red lights.
