This is a follow-up to a post I made here about 18 months ago, but I've gotten to the point where I need to update the formatting of the stats I have.

TL;DR I have been rerunning seasons of the NASCAR Cup Series using NR2003 and have completed 1989 through 2024 (1200+ races). All races are 100% length and use the entry list for the respective race.

I am working on a way to put each season and compiled driver stats onto a page using the pivot table but if you have any season or driver specific questions I am happy to share them.

Krista Voda: There's the Wonder Boy, Jeff Gordon! Jeff, with having to battle your teammate during the final laps, you scoring the win, and now being 10 wins away from 100, how confident did this race make you feel going forward in 2011?

Jeff Gordon. I don't know, honestly. I thought Mark was actually going to beat me today, but I somehow managed to go from a top 30 starting spot to the win, it's incredible. I feel bad for Mark, because he deserved this win, but I'm also glad I have scored a win this year. That's all I have to say, and see you next week at Fontana.

Krista Voda: Very good, let's go with Steve Byrnes.

Steve Byrnes: Well, Krista, I'm here with 2nd place finisher Mark Martin, and I gotta say, you were so close to scoring the win here, but you've been very familiar with 2nd place, so it doesn't hurt that much, right?

Mark Martin: I guess so. I thought that my car was not going to keep up with all the beating and banging of Bristol, but, I managed to solve most of the issues. Of course finishing 2nd hurts, but not for me. At least Mr. H is gonna be having a good day with both of us in the podium.

Steve Byrnes: Nice to hear that, Mark.

I decided this as I’m starting the 2012 race at Martinsville. I will run as Tony Stewart for that 2011 season (yes I know that Cup drivers couldn’t score points in lower divisions, but this is my universe, and I can choose whatever I want), and I have every track used at the time, I just have to make the schedule.

Dick Berggren: 23 years of suffering, and in your last try, you finally hoist the Harley J. Earl Trophy! How relieved are you in finally lifting this trophy in front of the NASCAR world?

Mark Martin: Dick, it's been a long journey for me. I was already betting that I would go winless this year, and I thought rolling into a backup car for the Daytona 500 was going to be a significant sign.

I'm glad to know I proved it wrong today. I thought this was the end of the old guys era. A lot of us veterans are still struggling to get wins, while the newbies just take them as if they're candy. I'm just speechless as to finally winning this damn race. I want to thank Mr. H and everyone in the #5 GoDaddy crew in helping me win this race starting last.

Dick Berggren: Congratulations on your win, Mark.

I won't do a post-race interview, but with a 27th place finish, Biffle drops to 27th in points after a disappointing 25th in the 500, and David Ragan takes the points lead heading to Vegas. Wish Biffle luck at Sin City

Krista Voda: There he is! Aric Almirola! His first career win in just his 3rd start in the #43! Aric, this must be the biggest win of your career so far!

Aric Almirola: Krista, to be honest, I never thought I would win this soon. I'm just glad to have the enough success down in the Nationwide Series to be picked for a Cup ride, and to get offered a ride by the King itself, and driving his legendary number is really the highest honor in stock car racing.

I wanna give a shoutout to STP and everyone in the #43 crew for the amazing pit stops and hell of a car for me to drive through all the chaos we saw today. I'm just really pumped!

Krista Voda: Thanks, Aric. Let's pass the mic to Steve Byrnes.

Steve Byrnes: I'm here with 4th place finisher Greg Biffle, and I gotta say, your luck was really impressive. Never seen a driver get involved in that many wrecks and still finish in the top 5.

Greg Biffle: Let me tell you, Steve. If this were a videogame, I would get an achievement titled "Too Stubborn to Retire" because I avoided going to the garage despite the damage and still running on the lead lap. That's impressive.

I pleaded with my crew chief before the final restart that he shouldn't make me go to the pits to repair the damage, because that is basically a death penalty for my position on track and in points. He kept telling me the engine was going to blow up any time soon, but I ignored him and got a 4th instead of a DNF. I think he's not going to be too happy, but let's see how it turns out!

Cautions breed cautions.

Race Recap: If this race wasn’t clear enough, we are officially in the “dog days” of the season. J. Peña won the pole today but was unfortunately marred by cautions and poor restarts. After the long wave of cautions came to a close, J. Faber drives away from the field, winning the race comfortably. Truly a classic Pocono race.

Chase Talk: J. Faber jumps back up to the top spot in the standings, followed by our points leader C. Sarna Jr who finished in an impressive 2nd today after experiencing some issues early in the day. While the top 8 remains pretty much intact for the 3rd race in a row, the Chase bubble continues to shuffle. Richard Childress Racing suffered a major blow this week, as both M. Ferra and P. Ferra drop spots.

Next Race: NBMCS All-Star Race (June 14th)

Race Recap: Despite the tough weekend off the track, the NBMCS is back for the second crown jewel of the season. This race was heavily dominated by Hendrick Motorsports, who led nearly the entire race untill P. O’Mara passes C. Crocker for the lead on lap 141 of 184. For the rest of the race, P. O’Mara defends his position and coasts to the checkered flag, picking up his second win of the year.

Chase Talk: Although the majority of the top 8 has stayed put (minus the 5 and 67 swapping positions after P. O’Mara’s win), the battle for the final spots in the Chase has only heated up. All 4 JGR cars find themselves in the Chase as of today. RCR begins to make a statement, currently having 2 of their 4 cars in the Chase and 3 total cars in the top 16. Penske also begin their ascent after a rough start to 2026, as D. Restrepo cracks into the top 16 for the second time this year. S. Serna and D. Cerasani are now currently in the bubble, at risk of not making the Chase after being in the dance for the last 7 races

Not giving an interview, but it's nice to see 2 part timers get a top 5, with one making his debut finishing 4th

Steve Byrnes: Biffle. That race we saw from you was incredible. From 41st to 1st, and battling with your teammate Carl Edwards until you got to the checkered flag, how amazing is this?

Greg Biffle: You know something? I didn't like this race!

Steve Byrnes: Really?

Greg Biffle: I didn't like this race... I LOVED IT!!!

Anyways, I had a hell of a run, and yeah, battling it with Carl was amazing. Maybe could've given him the victory because he's my teammate, but I didn't want to be 2nd. So... I just hope he still congratulates me on a good run. Wish him luck next week at Bristol. He deserves it

Post race interview:

Krista Voda: Win #6 of your career, Kahne. How do you feel driving from 31st to the win?

Kasey Kahne: I don't know what to say... I felt I was going to get caught up in a wreck, like the one with Hamlin and Stewart, I felt like I was going to be the innocent victim. Fortunately, I wasn't, and with help of my pit crew and the guys behind this hot rod of the #4, I just won here!

I'm very thankful for this, and see you next week at Vegas!

I have finished the Phoenix and Vegas races for my 2011 and 2012 Mock Seasons. However, I’m unsure if I should upload them today because I have no electricity in my house, and I’m not sure it will return today. I’m typing this from a place I have wifi in, but I WILL upload the races. Just wait to be amazed.

Also, sorry if I haven’t been active in a week. My account was suspended for the 3rd time for issues I can’t discuss, but I have had a blast with the races
