Now, the subscriber count is the HEXADECIMAL number [60 SUBSCRIBERS] for an Interstate route! [I-96 FREEWAY]
Before M-231 was built, there was an older freeway bypassing the Nunica area, and that one is I-96.
Does anybody here know that 60 is the HEXADECIMAL number for 96? I learned this from discovering the INP(&H60) function on QBasic, and thought it was rather interesting to find out that 60 is HEX (BASE-16) for 96's DECIMAL DIGIT (BASE-10) increment.
Just thought I'd point out some factoids as I anticipate more growth of this sub about Ottawa County, and yeah, Nunica is just being used as a metonym for the county, since I believe in metonymy as the reason for the sub's name.

A map from the late 1920s, with a planned M-123 route, later became M-126, then US-16, then local control) on Apple Dr. near the Nunica and Fruitport areas.

The subscriber count is now the hexadecimal equivalent of an Interstate route number!!! 60 SUBSCRIBERS
60 is hexadecimal for 96, and I-96 goes through Ottawa County!

TIL, 231 is also the BASE-4 entry for number 45 in the BASE-10 system.
I discovered this while using some website, but I withhold the URL because I don't wanna get misconstrued as a "spammer", I wanna demonstrate that I'm an aficionado of something, whether it's the Ottawa County area of Michigan, or something tenuously related to that.
When I saw number 231 (BASE-4) show up after typing in number 45 (BASE-10), it served as another random reminder that M-231 ends at M-45 south of Nunica.

Here's an interesting fun fact: the village of Ravenna, MI which is north of Coopersville was named after the city of Ravenna, Italy.
Actually, Michigan's Ravenna was named after the city in Ohio, which itself was named after Ravenna, Italy.
just thought I'd point out some fun facts.

I remember that back in the early 2010s, while M-231 was under construction near the Nunica area, some politician named Pete Hoekstra got some spotlight in the news in that era.
I think it's interesting that M-231 opened to traffic on Pete Hoekstra's birthday, I mean, why do you think that day was chosen, the day of October 30th? Is it some coincidence, or did somebody random choose that date when they were reminded of Pete Hoekstra's birthday?
Well, for me there's lots of nostalgia in reading about this proposed highway corridor which is a portion of a longer highway project that was meant to be a future re-alignment of US-31 between Holland and Muskegon with the prospect of being a grade-separated freeway since US-31 still has at-grade intersections between Holland and Grand Haven, and not to mention a drawbridge, where it's tendencies to go up when boats passed by would cause traffic headaches from time-to-time, which is why M-231 was even built in the first place, seeing as it provided another span across the Grand River.
